    Judul penelitian ini adalah Implementasi Pendidikan Ma'had ‘Aly Hasyim Asy'ari di Pondok Pesantren Tebuireng Jombang. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian adalah 1) Ma'had ‘Aly Hasyim Asy'ari menekankan pada kitab-kitab klasik dan berorientasi pada lahirnya generasi penerus Islam yang khairu ummah, tafaqquh fiad-diin, 2) Model penyelenggaraan pendidikan Ma'had ‘Aly Hasyim Asy'ari adalah perpaduan antara pendidikan pondok pesantren salafiyah dan perguruan tinggi, 3) Faktor pendukung dalam implementasi Pendidikan di Ma'had ‘Aly Hasyim Asy'ari antara lain; interaksi di kelas maupun di luar kelas menggunakan bahasa Arab, tenaga pengajar 80% lebih berasal dari alumni Timur Tengah yang berkompeten, materi kuliah dirujuk dari kitab-kitab klasik, rata-rata mahasantri memiliki latarbelakang pendidikan yang hampir sama, yaitu pondok pesantren salafiyah, dan adanya beasiswa bagi seluruh Mahasantri. Adapun faktor penghambat antara lain 1) status legal formal yang masih diperjuangkan, sehingga mahasantri harus mengikuti kuliah di IKAHA untuk memperoleh ijazah formal, 2) karena masih harus mengikuti kuliah di IKAHA, maka beban SKS dan mata kuliah yang harus ditempuh mahasantri terlalu berat., dan 3) mengingat di IKAHA memiliki jurusan Tarbiyah dan Syari'ah, maka tidak sedikit mahasantri mengambil jurusan tarbiyah sehingga konsekuensinya dalam menyusun risalah mengikuti jurusan di IKAHA yang tidak linier dengan jurusan di Ma'had ‘Aly yang mengembangkan fiqh-ushul fiqih. This paper describes the education implementation of Ma'had ‘Aly Hasyim in Tebuireng boarding school, Jombang. This study uses a qualitative approach. The results are 1) Ma'had ‘Aly Hasyim emphasizes the classics and is oriented to the birth of the next generation of Islam ummah khairu, tafaqquh Fi ad-deen 2) education of Ma'had' Aly Hasyim Asy ‘ ari is a blend of educational boarding school and salafiyah college experiences 3) the supporting factors in the implementation of education in Ma'had ‘Aly Hasyim, among others are interaction inside and outside the classroom using Arabic, the fact that teaching staff are 80% alumni of the Middle East, the fact that lectures are based upon classic Islamic books, the fact that the students have a similar educational background, and scholarships that are provided for all students. There are inhibiting factors such as 1) claiming formal legal status in advance so Islamic boarding school students may attend college in IKAHA to obtain formal certification, 2) due to the regulations in IKAHA, many credits and courses must be taken by the students and 3) due to the possession of IKAHA in Tarbiyah and Shariah majors, many students prefer choosing tarbiyah which consequently results a non-linier major with Ma'had ‘Aly-usul fiqh in IKAHA while studying and developing fiqh-ushul fiqh

    ABSTRAK Disertasi dengan judul “Manajemen Kurikulum Ma’had Aly Lirboyo dalam Mewujudkan Santri Milenial” ini ditulis oleh Rhendica dengan Promotor Prof. Dr. H. Akhyak, M. Ag, dan Dr. Hj. Sulistyorini, M. Ag. Kata Kunci : Manajemen Kurikulum, Ma’had Aly Lirboyo, Santri Milenial. Penelitian dalam disertasi ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya undang-undang diakuinya Ma’had Aly Lirboyo sebagai perguruan tingginya pesantren, serta tuntutan output (lulusan) agar dapat bersaing secara profesional. Untuk itu penulis mengangkat studi kasus Ma’had Aly Lirboyo. Dalam padangan peneliti, Pondok Pesantren Lirboyo yang sejak zaman dahulu mempertahankan eksistensi sebagai pendidikan salaf yang terus berevolusi, kini mulai menyelenggarakan program kurikulum Ma’had Aly agar dapat mencetak santri yang dapat berjuang di era milenial. Kurikulum dan manajemen saling berkaitan, khususnya dalam meningkatkan kualitas interaksi belajar mengajar. Oleh karna itu Mah’ad Aly sebagai lembaga pendidikan tinggi yang fokus pada studi Islam murni dari program Pondok Peantren harus mewujudkan santri milenial. Santri milenial di sini harus mampu minciptakan ide-ide, kritis, kreatif, konstruktif, objektif, analitis, serta yang paling utama adalah bertanggung jawab di tengah perkembangan teknologi. Rumusan masalah dalam penulisan disertasi ini adalah: (1) bagaimana desain kurikulum Ma’had Aly Lirboyo Kediri dalam mewujudkan santri milenial ?, (2) bagaimana struktur kurikulum Ma’had Aly Lirboyo Kediri dalam mewujudkan Santri milenial?; (3) bagaimana pelaksanaan kurikulum Ma’had Aly Lirboyo Kediri dalam mewujudkan santri milenial ?; (4) bagaimana hasil kurikulum Ma’had Aly Lirboyo Kediri dalam mewujudkan santri milenial? Jenis penelitian yang digunakan disertasi ini adalah kualitatif, lebih tepatnya yaitu penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian kualitatif deskriptif ini berbentuk penelitian dengan metode atau pendekatan studi kasus (case study). Disertasi ini memfokuskan diri secara intensif pada satu objek dan mempelajarinya sebagai suatu kasus. Data studi kasus diperoleh dari semua pihak yang bersangkutan, yaitu dalam studi ini dikumpulkan dari berbagai sumber. Dari hasil penelitian ini, penulis menyimpulkan bahwa: (1) desain kurikulum Ma’had Aly Lirboyo Kediri dalam Mewujudkan Santri Milenial dengan mengintegrasikan khazanah pesantren sebagai ciri khas Islam nusantara dan keilmuan modern kas perguruan tinggi dengan Program Studi Fikih dan Ushul Fikih (fikih wa ushuluhu) belandaskan bahan ajar kitab-kitab kuning (Turats) karya Ulama Salaf maupun modern, (2) struktur kurikulum Ma’had Aly Lirboyo Kediri dalam mewujudkan santri milenial, mengacu pada visi, misi dan tujuan yang telah ditetapkan oleh Ma’had Aly Lirboyo dengan Prodi Fikih dan Usul Fikih meliputi substansi pembelajaran yang ditempuh dalam satu jenjang dalam 4 tahun atau 8 semester mulai semester I (satu) sampai VIII (delapan) dan semester VII (tuju)-VIII (delapan) merupakan program wajib khidmah (pengabdian masyarakat). (3) Pelaksanaan kurikulum Ma’had Aly Lirboyo Kediri dalam mewujudkan santri milenial didasarkan pada potensi, perkembangan, dan kondisi santri untuk menguasai kompetensi yang berguna bagi dirinya. Dalam hal ini mahasantri mendapatkan pelayanan pendidikan yang mencukupi, serta memperoleh kesempatan untuk mengekspresikan dirinya secara riil tentang penguasaan mata kuliah yang didapat pada perkuliahan, (4) hasil kurikulum Ma’had Aly Lirboyo Kediri dalam mewujudkan santri milenial dengan mewujudkan santri nâsyir al ‘ilmi (dapat menyebarkan ilmu agama), santri dapat mengaplikasikan pembelajaran yang terdapat di dalam kitab kuning (Turats), mewujudkan santri yang muttafaqqih fi ad din, yaitu santri yang ahli di bidang ilmu agama Islam, mewujudkan lulusan yang alim, salih yaitu selain berpengetahuan tinggi juga berperilaku baik di tengah era kemajuan teknologi

    On the relaxed area of maps from the plane to itself taking three values

    In this thesis we address two different problems; the first and the main one is the study of the relaxed area functional A(u, Ω) of the graph of vector maps u ∈ L1(Ω; R^k) on an open set Ω ⊂ R^n, mainly for n = k = 2. In particular we are interested in estimating from above the area of the graph of a singular map u taking a disk to three vectors, the vertices of a triangle, and jumping along three C^2-embedded curves that meet transversely at only one point of the disk. We show that the singular part of the relaxed area can be estimated from above by the solution of a Plateau-type problem involving three entangled nonparametric area-minimizing surfaces. The idea is to “fill the hole” in the graph of the singular map with a sequence of approximating smooth two-codimensional surfaces of graph-type, by imagining three minimal surfaces, placed vertically over the jump of u, coupled together via a triple point in the target triangle. Such a construction depends on the choice of a target triple point, and on a connection passing through it, which dictate the boundary condition for the three minimal surfaces. We show that the singular part of the relaxed area of u cannot be larger than what we obtain by minimizing over all possible target triple points and all corresponding connections. Moreover we investigate the possibility of adopting similar techniques to study the same problem in more general and different settings for instance when u has several (finite or infinite) triple junctions, or when n = 3, or when R^{2×2} is endowed by a Riemannian metric. An interesting open problem that we plan to address in the future, is to investigate the lower bound inequality; this seems to involve a strong use of geometric measure theory and Cartesian currents. The second part of the thesis is devoted to the problem of characterizing arbitrary codimensional smooth manifolds M with boundary embedded in R^n using the square distance function and the signed distance function from M and from its boundary.     Following the enactment of Ministerial Regulation (PMA) Number 32 of 2020, Ma’had Aly faces a dilemma between maintaining its academic independence and adapting to institutional standards set by the government. In this context, two Ma’had Aly institutions located in Jombang — Ma’had Aly Hasyim Asy’ari Tebuireng and Ma’had Aly Tarbiyatunnasyi’in Pacul Gowang — have shown different responses to the policy. Hasyim Asy’ari emphasizes a systematic academic management in the field of hadith, while Tarbiyatunnasyi’in adopts a cultural and spiritual approach in the cultivation of tasawwuf. As an Islamic higher education institution rooted in the pesantren tradition, Ma’had Aly serves to preserve the continuity of classical Islamic scholarly traditions through the study of turath (classical texts). Unlike conventional Islamic boarding schools, Ma’had Aly has a more structured educational system, complete with academic levels, tracks, and specific fields of specialization. This study aims to examine how Ma’had Aly responds to the demands of formal regulations and the challenges of globalization in the education sector, without losing its identity as an institution devoted to tafaqquh fi al-din (deep understanding of religion)

    An experimental investigation of the wind forces on trees

    The paper illustrates the experimental techniques and the experimental results obtained at the Wall of Wind WoW of Florida International University (FIU), in Miami, concerning some tests on trees under wind loading. The motivation of the scientific work comes from unresolved questions that the designers of high rise buildings in Milano had to deal with in the design of the flower box containing trees up to 6-7 m high. The question was: can the tree fall down the terrace by turning inside the box or by breaking the trunk of the tree? How can be evaluated the forces due to wind? Thanks to the Real Estate Investment promoter, HINES Italia, an experimental program has been organized and implemented at a wind tunnel facility (WoW at FIU) which could allow for testing full scale trees

    Tuned Mass Damper Design for Slender Masonry Structures: A Framework for Linear and Nonlinear Analysis

    The paper presents a proposed framework to optimize the tuned mass damper (TMD) design, useful for seismic improvement of slender masonry structures. A historical masonry chimney located in northern Italy was considered to illustrate the proposed TMD design procedure and to evaluate the seismic performance of the system. The optimization process was subdivided into two fundamental phases. In the first phase, the main TMD parameters were defined starting from the dynamic behavior of the chimney by finite element modeling (FEM). A series of linear time-history analyses were carried out to point out the structural improvements in terms of top displacement, base shear, and bending moment. In the second phase, masonry's nonlinear behavior was considered, and a fiber model of the chimney was implemented. Pushover analyses were performed to obtain the capacity curve of the structure and to evaluate the performance of the TMD. The results of the linear and nonlinear analysis reveal the effectiveness of the proposed TMD design procedure for slender masonry structures
