Rethinking Progressivism and Modernism in Urdu Poetry: Faiz Ahmed Faiz and N. M. Rashed
No full textLiterary historians of modern Urdu poetry frequently divide twentieth-century writers into two camps--progressives and modernists. In such a reading, Faiz Ahmad Faiz (1911-84) is exemplary of the "art for life's sake" position associated with the Progressive Writers Association, and N. M. Rashed (1910-75) frequently represents the "art for art's sake" position of modernism. Through an assessment of these writers' understandings of each other and close readings of their poetry, this essay demonstrates that these familiar categories, first articulated in the late 1930s and early 1940s in progressive literary criticism, fail to capture the literary output of either poet. Instead of abandoning these categories, however, this essays suggests that they remain important to literary history as historical facts, as a part of literary discourse. This essay therefore considers the role of literary interpretation in literary production, and the way that these two prominent Urdu poets shaped their own work in accordance to the way it was received

No full textThe main purpose of this paper is to examine what factors explain the difference between effective interest rates of Turkey and USA. The paper considers seven variables explaining interest rate spread such as general prices, Gross Domestic Product (GDP), exchange rate, credibility index, level of international reserves, foreign trade deficit, and budget deficit. Four distinct periods were selected to explore the influences of the above mentioned variables on on interest rate spreads in these different time periods. The period covering 1994.1-2006:12 was splitted into three sub-periods: the sub-period covering 1994:1-1998:12, crisis period covering 1999:1-2001:.12, and post-crisis period covering 2002:1-2006.12. Employing the data for Turkey and applying Engle and Granger two-step procedure, this paper concludes that the only variable reducing interest rate spreads in all periods is GDP. The other variables generally increase the interest rate spreads.Engle and Granger estimation procedure, unit-root test, interest rate spreads, interest rate. Bu çalışmanın amacı Türkiye ve ABD’nin efektif faiz oranları arasındaki farkı açıklayan faktörlerin neler olabileceğini ortaya koymaktır. Bu amaçla faiz oranları farkını açıklayan değişkenler olarak, fiyatlar genel düzeyi, Gayri Safi Yurt İçi Hasıla, döviz kuru, güven endeksi, uluslararası rezerv düzeyi, dış ticaret açığı, bütçe açığı alınmıştır. Söz konusu değişkenlerin, değişik dönemlerde, faiz farkları üzerindeki etkisi araştırılmak amacı ile dört farklı dönem seçilmiştir. 1994:1 – 2006:12 dönemi genel dönemdir. 1994:1 – 1998:12 dönemi; 1999:1 – 2001:12 kriz dönemi ; 2002:1 ve 2006:12 kriz sonrası dönemleridir. Engle-Granger İki Aşamalı Tahmin Yöntemi kullanılarak yapılan analiz sonucuna göre, tüm dönemlerde faiz farklarını azaltıcı değişken olarak Gayri Safi Yurt İçi Hasıla bulunmuştur. this research is observation method and note-taking techniques. The author presents data
in transcript of five videos of speeches selected. The analysis data in this research is
classifies the untterances wichh include of the politeness strategy by Brown and Levinson,
are bald on record, positive politeness strategy, negative politeness strategy, and off
record based on politeness theory by Brown and Levinson (1987). The result of data
analysis shows that speaker uses bald on record with one substrategy, positive politeness strategy with eight substrategies, negative politeness strategy with five substrategies, and off record with four substrategies. Based on five themes taken for research, the type of
politeness mostly used by speaker is positive politeness strategy.

In this research, the writer wants to examine more deeply about the values of the philosophy of rationalism contained in his work. The focus of this research is How the description of the book Disappears, Finds Your True Self by Dr. Fahruddin Faiz How to Analyze the Values of Rationalism Philosophy in Dr. Fahruddin Faiz. The purpose of this research is to find out the substance of the book: Disappearing, Finding Your True Self by Dr. Fahruddin Faiz. Analyzing Dr.'s thoughts. Fahruddin Faiz on the Philosophical Values of Rationalism in the Book Disappearing, Finding Your True Self. In this study, the authors used a type of library research (library research). The object of this research is the values of the philosophy of rationalism in Dr. Fahruddin Faiz's book entitled Disappearing to Find Your True Self. This research activity is in the form of reading text books, listening to online seminars on reviewing the book and the author recognizes, identifies ideas and main ideas so that they become a whole meaning and find philosophical values. The results of this study are to explain that in the book Disappearing to Find Your True Self there are several values originating from Rene Descartes, namely, Principles and Motto of Life, starting to philosophize, finding true truth through reason, thinking is innate ideas, Cartesian ethics which explains God , Mind and Matter, then about philosophical advice. Also explained that Fahruddin Faiz is an expert in Islamic philosophy who wrote this book with a passing approach, namely the method of seeing the truth of one thing with another perspective of truth. In 2018, as part of a reliability upgrade, seal was converted to a double seal design (Plan53A). Pump MTBF reduced from 24 months to 6 months. While utilizing existing Plan 53A, a practical & cost effective approach is to have external cooling supply to seal chamber. Plan 32 then is introduced; together with seal scallop design upgrade and reducing amount of elbows on current seal piping system. With new upgrade changes, the pump seal has been operating satisfactory since commissioning, exceeding its previous operating life
Crypto currency and green investment impact on global environment: A time series analysis
No full textClimate change has become a central theme in both national and international forums in recent decades. In this regard, the argument has quickly moved and centered on the role of crypto currencies, in addition to the fundamental culprits of ecological destruction, such as fossil fuels, agricultural, and industrial pollution. The aim of the present study is to assess the role of asymmetries in determining the relationship between blockchain and green investment with the environment using the Non-linear Autoregressive Distributive Lag (NARDL) technique. The data from the United States of America (USA) is used over the period from 2011 to 2020. The findings reveal that, contrary to common belief, there is asymmetric relation between crypto currencies and biofuel usage in both the short and long run. Similarly, asymmetry also exists between renewable energy use and consumption of biofuel. Further, there is a strong coherence among the concerned variables is also proved in this study. Therefore, the study implies that assuming symmetric and weak coherence relationships between blockchain technology and green investment in the global environment produce biased and misleading findings which are not a true representation of the real-world scenario. Based on this the study suggests that policymakers and environmentalists may strive to achieve low carbon emissions using environment-friendly technology and less energy use. Lastly, the negative nonlinear impacts of blockchain technology and green investment must be considered in the carbon emissions released in the USA economy
