Arte de governar no “De republica per regem gubernanda” de Diogo Lopes Rebelo e no “Clarimundo” de João de Barros
The article discusses two portuguese works composed at the court of Avis: Diogo Lopes Rebelo’s De republica per regem gubernanda, published in 1496, and João de Barros’s Prymera parte da Chronicles do emperador Clarimundo, donde os Reys de Portugal descençedem, published in 1522. It seeks to show how each work minimally, according to particular discursive procedures, deals with the same purpose: to persuade readers about the virtues that befit kings and princes.O artigo aborda duas obras portuguesas compostas na Corte de Avis: o De republica per regem gubernanda, de 1496, de Diogo Lopes Rebelo e a Prymera parte da cronica do emperador Clarimundo, donde os Reys de Portugal Descençedem, de João de Barros, publicada em 1522. Diogo Lopes Rebelo e o De Republica Gubernanda per Regem
A Paz e o Direito de Guerra em Álvaro Pais e Diogo Lopes Rebelo
Alvarus Pelagius' Speculum regum (completed in Tavira in 1344) and Diogo Lopes Rebelo's
De republica gubernanda per regem (published in Paris in 1495) are "mirrors for princes",
dedicated to monarchs of whom, in light of the common good envisaged by their governance,
a virtuous line of action was expected. Both texts echo St. Augustine's discussion, in book
XIX of De civitate Dei (written in Hippo between c. 413 and 426), of peace as the end to which
any and the whole human community aspires. The preservation of peace, as a means for the
king to accomplish the common good, even if doing so involved waging war, obeys precise
conditions of justice differently identified by the authors. In this study, we examine the
positions of Alvarus Pelagius (section 1) and Diogo Lopes Rebelo (section 2) on the relations
between power and peace in what concerns the right to wage war, during war, and after
war. In both cases, the references to peace and war are sparse, but they allow us to identify
positions that, despite the common political tradition, manifest significant divergence

Urban Green Spaces, New Forms of Participation, and New Protagonists: From Crisis to (Re)Centralization
Green spaces are social projects that reflect power relations, culture, class,
and gender. As they are socially constructed, they also serve as arenas for struggles
over environmental, social, and urban spatial justice. Considering the diversity of
green spaces and the multitude of actors involved, this work seeks to identify and
analyse how these spaces serve as platforms for new forms of participation that
call upon new actors in the fight for socio-environmental justice in an urban context
through two case studies. The current complexity of the climate narrative and contemporary socio-ecological issues, in which social inequalities are both a structuring and
structured element, requires an analysis of these phenomena as a response to such
challenges that may influence decisions on public policies at the local level.C918-3B10-A36E | Diogo Guedes Vidalinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
