No full textThis publication presents the poetic works of Jan Leończuk (born in 1950), a poet, prose writer, translator, librarian, and regional studies scholar, collected in two volumes. mroughout his whole life, Jan Leończuk was connected with Podlasie, the North-Eastern, multicultural part of Poland, his native village of Łubniki, and the towns Zabłudów and Białystok. The poet was born on June 24, 1950, in Łubniki near Białystok to Antoni and Józefa née Dakowicz. In 1970, he graduated from the Agricultural Technical School in Białystok, and then began studying at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Warsaw's Branch in Białystok, with majors in Polish philology and history. In 1975, he received the diploma of graduation from the Faculty of Polish and Slavonic Philology of the University of Warsaw (UW). From 1975, he worked as an academic teacher at the Institute of Polish Philology at the UW branch in Białystok, and after a two-year break, from 1985 at the Institute of History of this university, after which he was nominated the director of the Łukasz Górnicki's Provincial Public Library in Białystok (1998). He held this function until 2016. He was the co-founder of the Kicki Poetry Salon, which operated in 1975–1976 at the University of Warsaw, and the Literary Group of the Polish Teachers' Union (ZNP) called "Bakałarz" (Bachelor) in Białystok (1975–1977). He debuted in 1970 with a poetic cycle published in "Radar". He was the founder and the first president of the Society of Friends of the Zabłudów Land. Since 1991, he was the editor-in-chief of the local bi-monthly magazine Z Zabłudowskiej Ziemi, since 1994 he was connected with the magazines Gryfita, Magazyn Polski (Grodno – Białystok) and the quarterly magazine Rubieże (Białystok). Between 1991 and 2000 he was a judge of Wiesław Kazanecki Literary Award of the Mayor of Białystok. Member of the Polish Writers' Union (Związek Literatów Polskich – ZLP) since 1989, in 1992–1995, vicepresident of the Białystok branch of ZLP; in 1995–1999 – its president. Since 1990 he has collaborated with Radio Białystok, broadcasting weekly columns entitled Z zapiśnika Jana Leończuka [From Jan Leończuk's Pocketbook]. Two-time winner of the Wiesław Kazanecki Literary Award of the Mayor of Białystok (1990 and 1997) and the Award of the Mayor of Białystok in the field of creating and disseminating culture (1997). In 1979 and in 1987, he was honored with the Creative Award of the District Governor of Białystok. In 1979, he received the Award of the Provincial National Council, 1987 – Award of the Director of the Department of Culture and Art, 1993 – Diploma of the Minister of Culture and Art. In 1991, he was honored with Włodzimierz Pietrzak Literary Award. Winner of Franciszek Karpinski National Literary Award. He published several volumes of poetry and 7 volumes of prose entitled Zapiśnik [The Pocketbook]. In his poetry, we find references to the traditions of such poets as Józef Czechowicz, Czesław Miłosz, Tadeusz Różewicz, Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz, and Edward Stachura. Leończuk's poetry combines the expressively sharply described existential experience of the subject (otherness, body, melancholy, catastrophe) with the cultural experience of the Latin-Byzantine borderland of Europe. The volume was preceded by two introductions by professors from the University of Białystok: Jarosław Ławski and Dariusz Kulesza. By reviewing the historical background of the institution of education, several key sequences emerge that are foundational principles. They are: a decentralized system, secular education, universal access, decreasing the achievement gap and global competition. Testing these sequences against school choice theories shows the foundational principles behind traditional public schooling in America are being challenged. The institutional reproduction of this pathway is likely to be interrupted in the utilitarian, functional, power and legitimation explanations of path dependence theory. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
No full textThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Tomy wierszy z lat 70. i 80. zyskują ogólnopolski rozgłos: Rachunek (1973), Żalnik (1976), W drodze do Damaszku (1886), Żertwa (1987). Piszą o nich najwybitniejsi krytycy tamtych lat. Należy do grona pisarzy, którzy w latach 70. szukają własnej drogi do literatury, takich jak Wiesław Kazanecki, Jerzy Plutowicz, Edward Redliński. Od 1996 roku począwszy, publikuje siedem serii Zapiśników – poetyckich, pisanych prozą felietonów, wygłaszanych w Polskim Radiu Białystok w latach 1990–2013. Wielokrotnie honorowany licznymi nagrodami, w tym: Nagrodą Młodych im. Włodzimierza Pietrzaka (1991), Nagrodą Literacką Prezydenta Miasta Białegostoku im. Wiesława Kazaneckiego (1991, 1996 i 2010), odznaczony Złotym Krzyżem Zasługi w 1990 roku oraz Krzyżem Kawalerskim Orderu Odrodzenia Polski (2000). Od roku 1989 jest członkiem Związku Literatów Polskich, w tym w latach 1995–1999 prezesem jego białostockiego oddziału. W latach 1975–1985 pracuje naukowo i wykłada w Instytucie Filologii Polskiej Filii UW w Białymstoku. Zajmuje się wtedy folklorystyką Podlasia, za swego mistrza w tej dziedzinie uznając prof. Czesława Hernasa. Pracę nauczyciela akademickiego i naukowca łączy w tym czasie z prowadzeniem od 1983 roku gospodarstwa rolnego w rodzinnych Łubnikach, których jest w latach 1984–1999 sołtysem. Udziela się ponadto społecznie jako radny i przewodniczący Rady Miejskiej w Zabłudowie, mieście, jak zawsze podkreśla, położonym na samej granicy Wielkiego Księstwa Litewskiego i Korony. Założyciel i pierwszy prezes Towarzystwa Ziemi Zabłudowskiej, redaktor dwumiesięcznika „Z Zabłudowskiej Ziemi”, współredaktor „Gryfity”, „Magazynu Polskiego”, „Rubieży”. Twórca i redaktor naczelny pisma literackiego „Epea” oraz półrocznika „Bibliotekarz Podlaski”, który w 2013 roku przekształca w „Bibliotekarza Podlaskiego. Ogólnopolskie Naukowe Pismo Bibliotekoznawcze i Bibliologiczne”. W latach 1996–1999 należy do Kapituły Nagrody Literackiej Prezydenta Miasta Białegostoku im. Wiesława Kazaneckiego. Od roku 2005 nieprzerwanie członek Kapituły Ogólnopolskiej Nagrody Literackiej im. Franciszka Karpińskiego, przyznawanej w Białymstoku. W 1998 roku Jan Leończuk zostaje mianowany Dyrektorem Wojewódzkiej Biblioteki Publicznej im. Łukasza Górnickiego. W czasie, gdy jest dyrektorem Biblioteki, zyskuje ona prawa do egzemplarza obowiązkowego, status biblioteki naukowej, pełniącej funkcję biblioteki miejskiej, powiatowej i wojewódzkiej. Przekształca jedną z wielu bibliotek wojewódzkich w Książnicę Podlaską im. Łukasza Górnickiego, prężnie działającą na niwie naukowej, organizującą corocznie konferencje. Powstaje tu Podlaska Biblioteka Cyfrowa. W Książnicy uruchomiony zostaje Dział Naukowy, który rozpoczyna III-tomową edycję Pism rozproszonych Zygmunta Glogera. Z inicjatywy dyrektora Książnica angażuje się w obchody sejmowe Roku Juliusza Słowackiego (2009) i Roku Józefa Ignacego Kraszewskiego (2012). Publikuje ona we współpracy z Wydziałem Filologicznym Uniwersytetu w Białymstoku serię monografii indywidualnych i zbiorowych poświęconych między innymi Teodorowi Bujnickiemu, Juliuszowi Słowackiemu (III tomy), Józefowi Ignacemu Kraszewskiemu (II tomy), Stefanowi Żeromskiemu (II tomy), Zygmuntowi Glogerowi, Stefanii Ulanowskiej. Ukoronowaniem prac Jana Leończuka jako dyrektora jest przeniesienie w Białymstoku zbiorów Książnicy Podlaskiej z ul. Kilińskiego 16 do nowoczesnego gmachu przy ul. Marii Skłodowskiej-Curie 14A (dokonuje się to na przełomie 2015–2016 roku). W roku 1983 Jan Leończuk ożenił się z Barbarą z domu Borowską, z którą ma dwóch synów: Andrzeja i Antoniego Łukasza. Niezmiennie wierny Łubnikom, Zabłudowowi i Podlasiu. Z przekonań – jak jego mistrz, autor Encyklopedii staropolskiej ilustrowanej – „postępowy konserwatysta”, chrześcijanin i „romantyczny pozytywista” (jak pisywano o Zygmuncie Glogerze).
