Using EBSD and TEM-Kikuchi patterns to study local crystallography at the domain boundaries of lead zirconate titanate
Reliable EBSD mapping of 90° domains in a tetragonal ferroelectric perovskite has been achieved for the first time, together with reliable automated orientation determination from TEM-Kikuchi patterns. This has been used to determine misorientation angles at 90° domain boundaries and thus local <i>c</i>/<i>a</i> ratios. The sources of orientation noise/error and their effects on the misorientation angle data have been thoroughly analyzed and it is found that this gives a cosine distribution of misorientation angles about the mean with a characteristic width related to the width of the orientation noise distribution. In most cases, a good agreement is found between local <i>c</i>/<i>a</i> ratios and global measurements by X-ray diffraction, but some clear discrepancies have also been found suggesting that real local variations are present, perhaps as a consequence of compositional inhomogeneities
Molecular genetics in anisakid nematodes from the Pacific Boreal region.
and Pseudoterranova decipiens B, P. bulbosa, and P. azarasi, belonging to the P. decipiens complex. Molecular keys for their routine identification are provided. Genetic relationships among members of the A. simplex, C. osculatum, and P. decipiens complexes are given by unweighted pair group cluster analysis (UPGMA) and multidimensional scaling ordination (MDS). Intermediate/paratenic fish hosts and definitive marine mammal hosts recorded for the considered species are provided: these are benthic-benthopelagic for A. simplex s. s. and C. osculatum C, and specialized benthic for P. bulbosa and P. azarasi. Maps are given showing collecting locations and geographic range of the species studied.; Molecular studies were carried out on anisakid nematodes from the Pacific Boreal region, causal agents of human anisakiosis. Programa de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia Mecânica.O objetivo deste trabalho é propor um processo metodológico para a determinação de leiautes estruturais ótimos, que seja competitivo e capaz de proporcionar leiautes de alta definição. O processo proposto consiste na solução de uma seqüência de problemas de otimização de leiaute intercalado por um passo de refino h-adaptativo. A malha de elementos finitos a ser otimizada, em cada nível do processo, é obtida da malha anterior, pela aplicação de um esquema de refino h-adaptativo. Um estimador de erro é utilizado para minimizar a deterioração da malha e o erro da solução com a aplicação do processo h-adaptativo. O método de otimização de leiaute empregado é baseado na abordagem material proposta por Bendsoe & Kikuchi (1988). A case of Kikuchi disease through skin
History and Objectives: Since several reports of this rare disease has been published and it has limited and benign characteristics and after one or two months it reverts into normality and frequently is mistaken on the basis of pathologic and clinical findings with malignant lymphoma and infectious mononucleosis, the present case is reported from department of internal medicine of Shaheed Beheshti hospital in Kashan in 1995. First report of this disease was given by Kikuchi 26 year ago and since then 23 other papers had been published and 74 cases for 1980 to 1998 has been recorded in Medline and etiological basis of the disease and diagnosis have been offered. Five years ago a similar report was publish in Journal of Babol Medical University. An 11-year-old girl from Aran with complains and sign of malignant lymphoma was admitted. Infectious mononucleosis, toxoplasmosis and SLE was considered in the differential diagnosis of the disease. However final diagnosis of Kikuchi was offered on the basis of excisional biopsy of lymphatic nodes of neck and its pathological characteristics. Results: Although kikuchi disease is benign and is due to rare incidence of FLO, however, early diagnosis will reduce unnecessary examination and false treatments

DOI: 10.1177/10668969231212428.SARS-CoV-2 vaccines have been administered in many countries after the COVID-19 pandemic. Lymphadenopathy is a side effect of SARS-CoV-2 vaccine. We report a rare example of Kikuchi disease in the cervical lymph nodes after SARS-CoV-2 vaccination. A 41-year-old man complained of a swollen neck and fever 9 days after the first dose of SARS-CoV-2 mRNA-1273 vaccine. Computed tomography revealed enlarged cervical lymph nodes. Fine needle aspiration and resection were performed, and the clinicopathological diagnosis was consistent with Kikuchi disease. Histologically, the resected lymph nodes lost their polarity, and many histiocytes were aggregated with karyorrhectic nuclear debris and apoptosis. SARS-CoV-2 positive cells were small lymphocytes detected by immunohistochemistry. This is the first report that demonstrated SARS-CoV-2 expression in Kikuchi disease post-SARS-CoV-2 vaccination
Privately informed parties and policy divergence
This paper presents a Downsian model of political competition in which parties have incomplete but richer information than voters on policy effects. Each party can observe a private signal of the policy effects, while voters cannot. In this setting, voters infer the policy effects from the party platforms. In this political game with private information, we show that there exist weak perfect Bayesian equilibria (WPBEs) at which the parties play different strategies, and thus, announce different platforms even when their signals coincide. This result is in contrast with the conclusion of the Median Voter Theorem in the classical Downsian model. Our equilibrium analysis suggests similarity between the set of WPBEs in this model and the set of uniformly perfect equilibria of Harsanyi and Selten (1988) in the model with completely informed parties which we studied in a previous paper (Kikuchi, 2010).
Epidemiology of Helicobacter pylori Infection
This review summarizes epidemiologic studies published between April 2004 and March 2005. DNA of Helicobacter pylori was detected in river water, but the culture was unsuccessful. H. pylori infection was associated with Shigella infection. Despite many studies, predominant infection routes of H. pylori have not yet been clearly identified. In some limited populations in developing countries, H. pylori infection was rare or with strange distributions. Trials to reduce the H. pylori infection rate were performed including H. pylori eradication in total family units and fly control. The hypothesis of a causal role of Helicobacter species and H. pylori infection in cancer of the hepatobiliary tract was indeed confirmed
