    No full text
AbstractThis paper presents an optimum location definition and technique for a better placement location of renewable power generations in a wide area power system using repeated power flow technique considering voltage stability limit. In this study, for a better understanding, the author have implemented the newly proposed idea on Thailand's power system especially focusing on renewable generation support plan from the government policy under the current Power Development Plan (PDP 2015). The study results have compared between: 1) installation the renewable generation at the newly recommendation area and 2) installation the renewable generation facilities throughout into distribution system in the Northeastern area of Thailand. The study results focus on impaction to voltage stability when system has load demand increasing and generation capacity decreasing. This study, a Modified-Thailand's power system during peak load in 2013 was used as a system base case with generation capacity around 27,400 MW and load demand around 26,810 MW while system losses 590 MW. The results found that the newly proposed technique can define optimum location for install renewables generation in wide area to enhance system security in term of voltage stability impaction. This technique may also carry to define the installation of other equipment as FACTS devices or define generation dispatch for Automatic Generation Control system (AGC) for power system stability enhancement

Body form oval, strongly convex in lateral view; pronotum and elytral margins darkly colored, pronotum with median transverse depression (Fig. 2A), dorsal surface strongly iridescent, without evident microreticulation; pronotum and elytra laterally without bronzy-metallic sheen; striae I–XI evident with distinct, widely spaced punctures, striae VI–X strongly sulcate (Fig. 2B); elytral intervals VII–X convex; elytral apex truncate (Figs. 1B, 2B–C), without border (Fig. 2C), epipleural angle indistinct; metaepisternal ostiole small; aedeagus with median lobe slightly shorter than parameres, apical half of median lobe broader in width than single paramere, apex weakly triangular, lateral margin of parameres weakly curved, apex rounded (Figs. 3C–D). Female: Similar to male but with a more oval body form; gonocoxae as in Fig. 3E. Differential diagnosis. Among the Old World Gyrinus, G. smaragdinus is closest to G. ignitus Régimbart, 1895, a Malagasy endemic species. The only other species of Gyrinus recorded from Thailand is G. sericeolimbatus. G. smaragdinus can be distinguished from G. sericeolimbatus by its iridescent appearance and strongly sulcate lateral elytral setriae. Distribution. This species is known from northeastern India, to Myanmar, Yunnan Province of southern China, and northern Vietnam (Ochs 1930; Vazirani 1972, 1984; Mazzoldi 1995). It is here recorded for the first time in Thailand. Habitat. We found G. smaragdinus most often on stagnant water of montane streams and ponds at high elevation, ranging from 700 to 1600 m a.s.l. (Figs. 7A–B). Only a few specimens were found in a stream at a low elevation (270 m a.s.l.). Discussion. G. smaragdinus is the only species of Gyrinus that we encountered during our sampling in the northern, western and northeastern regions of Thailand (Fig. 8A). The first author found this beetle in a pond surrounded by land with both agricultural use and intact forest.Published as part of Suksai, Benjamart, Gustafson, Grey T., Sites, Robert W. & Sangpradub, Narumon, 2021, The Gyrinidae (Coleoptera) fauna of Thailand: Key to tribes and genera, with new records and keys to species of Dineutini and Gyrinini, pp. 97-117 in Zootaxa 5071 (1) on pages 99-102, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.5071.1.5, http://zenodo.org/record/572332

JUNO Sensitivity on Proton Decay pνˉK+p\to \bar\nu K^+ Searches

The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO) is a large liquid scintillator detector designed to explore many topics in fundamental physics. In this paper, the potential on searching for proton decay in pνˉK+p\to \bar\nu K^+ mode with JUNO is investigated. The kaon and its decay particles feature a clear three-fold coincidence signature that results in a high efficiency for identification. Moreover, the excellent energy resolution of JUNO permits to suppress the sizable background caused by other delayed signals. Based on these advantages, the detection efficiency for the proton decay via pνˉK+p\to \bar\nu K^+ is 36.9% with a background level of 0.2 events after 10 years of data taking. The estimated sensitivity based on 200 kton-years exposure is 9.6×10339.6 \times 10^{33} years, competitive with the current best limits on the proton lifetime in this channel.Comment: 14 pages, 12 figures, an author adde
