Effects of drought on physiological and morphological features of wild and domestic Turkish watermelon genotypes
No full text10th EUCARPIA Meeting on Genetics and Breeding of Cucurbitaceae -- OCT 15-18, 2012 -- Antalya, TURKEYWOS: 000345687100038This research was carried out between 2007 and 2008 to determine drought tolerance of domestic and wild watermelon genotypes in Sanliurfa (Turkey) condition. A total of 32 wild and domestic watermelon genotypes were used in this experiment. Morphological and physiological treatments such as leaf relative-water content, leaf temperature, chlorophyll contents, leaf water potential, leaf color, leaf area, number of stomata, width of stomata, length of stomata, plant height, number of nods on the plant, plant dry matter ratio, main stem diameter, turgority and final drought resistance tests were examined. Drip irrigation treatments included complete irrigation cut off, dry (I-0), full irrigation based on replenishment of soil water depleted from 0-90 cm profile (I-1) and 50 % full irrigation (I-2). Numerical Study of the Effects of Lambda and Injection Timing on RCCI Combustion Mode
No full textReactivity Controlled Compression Ignition (RCCI), which is a low temperature combustion mode based on the prİnciple of working with dual fuel, has attracted the attention of researchers in recent years due to its advantages such as high thermal efficiency, low NOx and soot emissions, and controllability of combustion. In this study, the effects of injection timing and lambda on RCCI combustion mode were investigated numerically by validating the experimental data with Converge CFD software. A four-cylinder, four-stroke gasoline direct-injection engine with a compression ratio of 9.2 was used in RCCI combustion mode at an engine speed of 1000 rpm. The maximum cylinder pressure also increased and RCCI combustion was advanced while the injection timing was advanced. The highest peak pressure was obtained at SOI=-50°CA aTDC, and the lowest peak pressure was obtained at SOI=-25°CA aTDC. Similarly, the highest peak HRR value was acquired as 213 J/°CA at SOI=-50°CA aTDC. It has been observed that as the lambda decreases, the maximum cylinder pressure increases, and combustion advances. In addition, the heat release rises with a decrease in lambda value. The maximum heat release rate was acquired as 77.91 J/°CA at λ=1.2. The results show that injection timing and lambda have a great influence on RCCI combustion mode and the combustion phase can be controlled with these parameters. © 2022 by the Author(s).The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBITAK) provided financial support for Hamit Solmaz and Serdar Halis to perform this research. It is understood from the name of the book "the truth of treasure and bring up" in the mysticism literature, one of the most regardful work. In the mysticism literature, problem of Existence Unity, in the Yunus's divan and Mevlana Celaleddin's mesnevi began to work, this is put forward as closed true nature. Howewer, in Kenzü'l-Hakayık, the problem of Existence Unity appeared as a very clear shape. The author of work, Yusuf-i Hamedani, in the work of slaves' power and will to act is not exist is declared so the will and wish of the slaves are thought as having nothing sight so showing forceful attitude and it showed that the problem appears. In the act Seyr-i Sülük of the dervish, the author appreciated in the ten subjects, the ten subjects are considered from primitive to complex so it is stated thai all the way is pessed from the loving Hz. Muhammed and seeing him. Dealing with people, he says that also saying believed, not reach real truth and all proof which was brought supports with Verse of the Koran and the Study of the Prophet. The author's questions until the investigation of the true nature of the Allah brings also the work very interesting. What is Allah?, the response of this question which is put forward by hhe author is Allah consists of identity, actually the believes of people as Allah are their desires and wishes are determined, faith and also swearword is said as a curtain and a registration. A real student is escaping from the idolutry, faith and swearword, so the Allah is the light of the place and the sky and he completes the work as saying Allah is everything.II Kenzü'l-Hakaik ve keşfü-d-Dekaik mevzu itibariyle tasavvufun gayet nazik meselelerinden bahsetmektedir. Kitabın adındandan ulaşılacağı gibi "hazinelerin hakikati ve inceliklerin ortaya çıkarılması" tasavvuf edebiyatında bu meyandaki eserlerin en dikkate değerlerinden biridir. Tasavvuf edebiyatında Vahdet-i Vücûd meselesi Yunus'un divanında ve Mevlana Celaleddin'in mesnevisinde işlenmeye başlanmışsa da bu kapalı bir mahiyette ortaya sürülmüştü. Oysa Kenzü'l-Hakayık'ta vahdet-i vücud meselesi gayet açık bir şekilde ortaya çıkmaktadır. Eserin müellifi Yusuf-ı Hemedâni'nin, kulların işlerinde yegane failin Allah olduğunu ve kulda fiili işleyecek bir kudret ve iradenin olmadığını beyan ederek kulların irade ve isteğini hiçe sayan bir görüşe sahip olarak cebriyeci bir tavır sergilemesi ve meselenin açıkça ortaya çıktığını göstermektedir. Eserde sûfınin seyr-i sülûkunu on bahis içerisinde değerlendiren müellif, bu on bahsi basitten mürekkebe doğru ele alarak bütün yolların Hz. Muhammedi sevmekten ve onun hakikatini görmekten geçtiğini belirtir. İnsanların geneli ele alınarak inandım diyenlerin dahi ekserisinin hakiki imana erişmediğini söyler ve her getirdiği delili ayet ve hadislerle besler. Müellifin, Allahın mahiyetini araştırmaya kadar varan sorular sorması eseri daha da ilginç bir yere kor. Allah nedir? Sorusunun karşılığını Allah hüviyetten ibarettir cevabıyla ortaya koyan müellif aslında insanların Allah diye inandıklarının kendi heva ve hevesleri olduğunu belirterek, iman ve küfründe bir kayıt ve perdeden ibaret olduğunu söyler. Gerçek bir talibin putperestlikten, iman ve küfür kayıtlarından kurtularak, Allah yerin ve göğün nurudur ve o, her şeydir diyerek eseri tamamlar

No full textabstract: This collection entitled “Poems on Home, Family, and the Self� is about the author’s role as a daughter to immigrant parents, who is finding her drive, and understanding where she comes from and how she will use that to find her purpose. The poems in this collection touch upon the author’s upbringing in Northern California, her transitioning relationship with her parents and her brother, as well as her experiences relative to her growth in Arizona. These pieces are greatly inspired by author Arundhati Roy and poet Li-Young Li. Specifically, the author is influenced by Li-Young Li’s approach to poetry – his commentary and storytelling of his life and his parents are objective, observatory, and allow the readers to make opinions for themselves. In this collection, the author aims to make statements about her family and upbringing and show the readers her new understanding of life and her ambitions. (abstract
Firearms control in Canada: Bill-C-68 and its amendments to the forfeiture of firearms and weapons provisions in the Criminal Code
No full textThis thesis presents a history of firearms control in Canada in an effort to provide an understanding of the views held by opponents of increasingly stringent firearms control legislation. It examines the most common arguments forwarded by the opponents and concludes that the Canadian courts have not followed their reasoning. Attempting to provide a more fruitful means of protecting the fundamental rights of lawful owners of firearms, the author focuses on the post-Bill C-68 mandatory forfeiture provisions in s. 491 of the Criminal Code of Canada. The author demonstrates that the mandatory forfeiture provisions infringe upon the s. 8 Charter right to be secure against unreasonable searches and seizures. The author then engages in a s. 1 Charter analysis and concludes that the limit on the s. 8 Charter right is not reasonable and demonstrably justified, and proposes that the provision be declared unconstitutional under s. 52(1) of the Charter.LL.M

Çalışma, Mevlevîliğin tarihî ve kültürel önemini ortaya koymayı hedeflerken, yazarın bu alana yönelmesinde etkili olan akademik ve manevi motivasyonları da yansıtmaktadır. Ayrıca araştırmanın hazırlanma sürecinde destek veren akademisyenlere ve yakın çevreye teşekkür edilmektedir.This study focuses on the author’s journey to Turkey in order to gain a deeper understanding of Islamic mysticism through the works of Jalal al-Din Rumi and the Mevlevi tradition. By combining a background in art history and painting–sculpture education received in the United States with the study of Sufism, the author adopts an interdisciplinary perspective. The research aims to highlight the historical and cultural significance of Mevlevism while also reflecting the academic and spiritual motivations that guided the author toward this field. Alternative value configurations emerging for 5G Micro Operator in Factory of Future context
Get PDFThis research is analyzing alternative value configurations for 5G Micro Operators (uO) in Factory of Future (FoF) context. For this aim, emerging business opportunities for uOs in the context of FoF explored through novel combination of heretofore-separate FoF’s needs and underemployed resources focusing on the data. Since the FoF is Internet of Things (IoT) enabled context, the identified resources and needs have been categorized based on 4C layers of Internet Business Model aiming at easier and more structured analyze of Internet-based Business Models. The research question has been answered through covering abovementioned aspects.
This thesis offers extensive theoretical understanding on business models, business opportunities, value configuration, Factory of Future, Industry 4.0 and 5G, which has enabled the author to collect a high quality dataset. An inductive research approach with undertaking the qualitative single case study research strategy within an exploratory type of research have been chosen. The primary data collected through Micro Operator Factory Workshop that was held at April 2018 with ten participants including researchers from uO5G project side, experts from factory side and the factories’ head of research strategy department that came together and discussed impressively about FoF. In order to enhance the qualitative rigor, the Gioia methodology as a systemic approach and analytical logic for linking data to proposition and develop new persuasive concept has been applied.
As a result of data analyses, the author uncovered eleven themes from identified FoF’s needs and resources. Next, the findings sub-grouped based on the 4C layers (Connection, Content, Context and Commerce) of Internet Business Model to answer first research sub-question. Besides, the research proposed emerging business opportunities as alternative value configurations for uO in context of the case company as FoF including Product Business, Component Business, Platform Business and Supplementary Business to answer second research sub-question. The author also proposed a Mixed type of business for uO as a new concept. Additionally, author has modified the theoretical framework of resource configuration in a digitally enabled world (data as resource in this study) presented by Amit& Han (2017) and customized it based on context requirements and has completed it with adding the 4C layers Internet Business Model distribution alongside emerging business opportunities for uOs in FoF context.
The key result of the paper indicates that there are considerable potential business opportunities for new players like uOs within FoF context. The uOs through novel combination of context related needs and resources are able to propose their value alternatively according to business opportunities. The findings considerably contributes the existing literature from various aspects and can be utilized broadly by industrial managers. Overall, this study offers a comprehensive description of the under-investigated topic through providing appropriately defined theoretical foundation, reliable data analysis and well-argued conclusion

important in music; they might cause you to feel a special feeling, they can affect you in
political means if it is a protest song or they can just entertain you. In my extended essay, I
deal with how lyrics vary between specific genres. When doing this, I looked at the meaning
behind the lyrics, what is aimed with those lyrics and the group of people that those lyrics
appeal to. What I saw was that some songs were written just to entertain, some had lyrics that
were part of the marketing of that band; like punk artists which used lyrics to appeal teenagers
and sell more records, some were expressing some problems; political or personal; like folk
artists which used lyrics to teach people. I also became aware that each lyric I studied was written not only by the author to feel relieved but it had a larger meaning, the lyrics I examined stood for a group of people, which I dealt with in my extended essay. My purpose
in studying this topic was to show how effective lyrics are – to sell more records, to stand for
an idea or to stand for a group of people – though we are not aware of it most of the time
