Bio-bibliometric Study of Dr. Khalid Mahmood’s Contributions to LIS Field in Pakistan
This paper presents bio-bibliometric analysis of the contributions of Dr. Khalid Mahmood in the field of Library and Information Science through his publications. The analysis includes geographical and year wise distribution of publications; collaboration for publication; publications by type; language and journal preferences for the publication; and coverage of different subject areas. Results of the study indicate that Dr. Khalid Mahmood is a prolific writer in the field of library and information science. He contributed 115 items including 99 articles, six books, eight conference papers and two papers in newsletters till December 31, 2011. Research work by Dr. Khalid Mahmood is well accepted in developed countries like United Kingdom and United States of America. He used English language to disseminate majority of his research work. He believes in teamwork and about two third of his
research work was result of collaboration
CHILDREN’S LEARNING IN ADULTS’ ENVIRONMENT - THE STREET
This paper aims to explore the learning of working children on the streets. This study takes qualitative approach with semi-structured interviews as method. In total, 10 interviews were conducted with key informants aged 12-16 in Rawalpindi city. Social learning theory of Albert Bandura has been used as theoretical frameworks. The main themes are presented through case studies of three children who shared their learning on the streets. It is argued in this paper that children have to work in the streets in an adult environment due to their familial responsibilities especially in COVID-19, and sacrificing studies. And they are working in that environment –the street (an urban space) - which is created by adults and operated by rules and regulations of adults, where children face different exploitation including sexual abuse, discrimination and learning tricks of wrong doings. It is also argued that
children can carry all these learning and experiences to rest of their lives and practice wrong doings in their professional lives as well. It is concluded that it is important for adults to give children an environment where moral judgment of right and wrong prevails and children can distinguish them and practice good things in their live
The determinants of capital structure for oil and gas company in Malaysia / Syed Afiq Syaamil Syed Khalid
The purpose of this study is to investigate the determinants of capital structure for oil and gas company in Malaysia. The data was collected from first quarter 1996 until fourth quarter 2016. The four independent variables that had been used which are size of company (SIZE), profitability (PROF), financial strength (FIN) and company risk (RISK). This study applies Ordinary Least Square (OLS) methods in order to define the statistical relationship among the variables. There are steps involved in the research begin with ordinary least square methods and proceed with Unit Root tests, Descriptive Statistic, Multiple Linear Regressions Model and Diagnostic Tests. The results show that profitability (PROF) has a positive significant relationship while financial strength (FIN) has a negative significant relationship with capital structure of oil and gas company in Malaysia. However, size of company (SIZE) and company risk (RISK) have insignificant relationship towards capital structure of oil and gas company in Malaysia

The macroeconomic determinants of Malaysia stock market / Sharifah Khairah Syed Khalid
This study examines the determinants of Malaysia’s stock market performance against the macroeconomic factors. The data employed in this study is from January 2007 until December 2018. Specifically, the stock data used is the top 100 leading firms (FBM100) as the dependent variables. Independent variables used in this study are exchange rate, gross domestic product, interest rate and inflation rate. As for runned data, this paper used Descriptive Statistic, Pearson Correlation, Regression Model, Correlation Coefficient and Multicollinearity test. It is found that the exchange rate has negative relationship with FBM100. Meanwhile, gross domestic product (GDP) and interest rate are found to have significant relationship with FBM100. However, the inflation rate has negative relationship with FBM100. This study uses all macroeconomic factors in one model as well as the stock market
