Bahasa Minoritas Dan Konstruksi Identitas Etnik Pada Komunitas Bahasa Kui Di Alor, Nusa Tenggara Timur

On the Dynamics of Glocalisation and Minority Language Conservation in Contemporary Indonesia
This paper discusses the dynamics of glocalisation in relation to minority language conservation issues in an Indonesian context, focussing on cases in eastern Indonesia. Two inter-related types of glocalisation are distinguished (top-down and bottom-up). It is argued that from the glocal perspective, successful efforts in language conservation and advocacy must be interdisciplinary in nature, involving long-term programmes with all stakeholders. They should target the speech communities collectively and individually, empowering them as human beings through different kinds of leadership literacy, and strengthening their economic, socio-cultural and linguistic capitals. Such efforts are highly challenging given that minority groups in the increasingly competitive and glocalised modern world are weak and disadvantaged in all respects, even at the most local level
Synthesis of rGO-Supported NiCo2O4/NiS nanocomposite for effective degradation of diclofenac and bromophenol blue
The removal of organic effluents from polluted water is a significant concern. Photodegradation of organic effluents can be performed using different photocatalysts. For this purpose, herein nickel cobaltite (NC) was prepared via the auto moisturization route and nickel sulfide (NS) via a hydrothermal approach. rGO-based nanocomposite (NC/NS/rGO) was synthesized using an ultrasonication approach. The as-prepared nanocatalysts were employed for bromophenol blue and diclofenac degradation. The outcomes of colored (bromophenol blue) effluent degradation by NC, NS, NC/NS, and NC/NS/rGO was found to be 42.65 %, 33.92 %, 56.19 %, and 81.44 %, respectively. The % degradation of diclofenac by NC/NS and NC/NS/rGO was realized to be 44.05 % and 65.98 %, respectively. NC/NS/rGO showed greater catalytic activity than other fabricated nanocatalysts due to the combined effect of nickel cobaltite and nickel sulfide and the existence of rGO. The rGO layers exhibited immense and active sites for the degradation reaction. A radical trapping analysis was performed to investigate the participation of active species in the photocatalytic reaction. This is a pre-proof of the article Published as Katubi, Khadijah MohammedSaleh, Sawera Akbar, Sonia Zulfiqar, Muhammad Shahid, Amna Irshad, Z. Self-assembled 3D hierarchical Mo2S3 flowers from wrinkled sheets for enhanced electrochemical energy storage performanc
In this study, wrinkled sheets of molybdenum sulfide Mo2S3 were self-assembled into 3D hierarchical flowers via a simple hydrothermal technique. Additionally, binary (Mo2S3/CNTs) and ternary (Mo2S3/CNTs/gCN) composites were synthesized through ultrasonication route. Synergistic effect of 3D Mo2S3 flowers with 1D CNTs and gCN strengthen and heighten electrochemical properties of Mo2S3/CNTs/gCN composite. The GCD graph of Mo2S3/CNTs/gCN composite endorsed greatest specific capacitance 1309 F/g at 1 A/g with highest discharge time period
(1414 s). Though, the discharge time for Mo2S3/CNTs and Mo2S3 was 495 s and 330 s with specific capacitance 458 F/g and 306 F/g respectively. The significantly improved electrochemical properties of Mo2S3/CNTs/gCN composite professed via CV curves and GCD data are authorized to the outstanding architecture of the material. TheMo2S3/CNTs/gCN composite also shows greater ion diffusion and outstanding capacitive behavior. In composite electrode, Mo2S3 flowers with CNTs and gCN organize a unique architecture which improves the ionic movement in all the three directions due to 3D hierarchical structure. In conclusion, the advanced proficiency of our as-designed working electrode (Mo2S3/CNTs/gCN composite) is a promising choice for energy storage systems. This is a manuscript of an article published as Katubi, Khadijah MohammedSaleh, Nusrat Shaheen, Eric W. Innovative Nanocomposites for Enhanced Photocatalytic Removal of Hazardous Pollutants: Probing the Role of CuO/Fe2O3 and MXene Synergy
In this work, copper oxide nanorods and iron oxide nanospheres were prepared via a coprecipitation method. Moreover, binary composite of copper and iron oxides (CF) and their ternary nanocomposite with MXene sheets (CF/MXene) were synthesized using an ultrasonication approach. The photocatalytic degradation of rhodamine B (RhB), a colorless organic pollutant benzoic acid, and harmful herbicide pendimethalin was investigated under visible light irradiation in the presence of a CF/MXene composite. The photocatalysts were examined using various physiochemical techniques. Ternary CF/MXene nanocomposite showed rapid adsorption of Rh.B with a greater capability than the other prepared photocatalysts. The dye removal after 120 min in the presence of CF/MXene was 94%, with the highest rate constant of 0.01794 min–1. The scavenging experiments proved that the photoactive species involved during the complete photocatalytic process followed the order HO• > O2•– > h+> e–. In short, the synergistic effect of binary composite (CF) and MXene sheets effectively facilitates the photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants and shows promise for environmental remediation applications. This is a manuscript of the article Published as MohammedSaleh Katubi, Khadijah, Nusrat Shaheen, Sonia Zulfiqar, Amna Irshad, Ziyad Awadh Alrowaili, Mohammed Sultan Al-Buriahi, Imran Shakir, Muhammad Farooq Warsi, and Eric W. RELIGION, CUSTOM AND IDENTITY: Conflict Transformation in Banda Neira Islands
This article deals with the transformation of conflict and the formation of identity of the Bandanese people in the Banda Islands after Maluku conflict through an analysis of kabata, folk songs that record the historical narratives of the colonial era. This research employs a grounded theory approach to collect field data from the Banda Islands and Ambon Island, as well as literature related to the Banda Eli community in Kei Island. The finding indicates that the Maluku conflict had an effect on the diversity of religion, custom and social relation among the Banda people, and led to the fragmentation of identity—the communities of Banda Neira Islands, Banda Eli in Kei and Banda Suli in Ambon—on the basis of religious aspects and their bond to Banda lands. The transformation of conflict created a consolidation of identity of Banda Islands community, which became religiously more exclusive, especially after the rise of conservative Islam in Indonesia. This article fills the gap in the study of kabata by positioning it as a key to understanding how the identity of the Bandanese people has developed and adapted within the context of the long history of colonialism and contemporary conflicts
Bahasa, Identitas, Dan Konflik
In popular observation, the relation between language and conflict to date is set aside. However, in various conflicting areas, linguistic conflicts are frequently taking place, for instance the disputes over the use of languages. In relation to identity construction, in a certain state, language policy is the heart of formation of national identity. Due to the important role of language, when language is related to some aspects of human life; language can be politicized as well as cause a conflict. This paper discusses a number of historical evidence about repression upon language due to the conflict , language conflict and national identity. Based on a number of historical evidences, it can be argued that a language can become a victim of conflict due to the assumption that language loyalty can overcome loyalty towards the state. At the same time, language can be utilized as a symbol of struggle in an effort to separate itself from the state. In addition it can also serve as a separating symbol among the conflicting groups t. Language conflict can occur either in monolingual or multilingual communities. d The heterogeneity and the similarity of language can be constructed to maximize language as a symbol of identity in line with socio-political changes accompanying the conflict
