Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS): Towards Maximizing the potential of its Human Resource Development (HRD)

    No full text
As strategic education agenda works to prepare competent graduates, human resource development has become crucial for uplifting the internal strength of the university. University Malaysia Sabah (UMS) relatively a ‘young’ university has been engaged in establishing learning interaction among its staffs towards excellence. This paradigm is paramount to the strategic human resource provider as it allows not only the students who will be graduating but the young faculty members and its administrative staffs to excel. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the keys to successful university undertaken by UMS. In less than ten years, the faculty members as well as the administrative staffs manage to position the university at par to that of other established higher learning institutions in the nation. With the establishment of learning interaction, human resource development of UMS have shown some impact for promoting educational excellence among Malaysians. Indeed competent human resource plays an important role to meet the vision and the mission of UMS- strive to excel.Human Resource Development; Higher Education

========================================================= Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport is the only one international airport located in Pekanbaru City, Riau Province. The number of passenger movements at Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport in 2016 reached 3,943,351 people. This amount will increase every year along with economic growth and more access to the City of Pekanbaru. Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport currently has a runway of 2240 meters and a width of 45 meters. Remembering these dimensions, certainly it totally affects the type of aircraft which will operate at Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport considering the number of passengers that will increase from year to year. The aim of this Final Project Preparation is to calculate the necessity of runway and taxiway requirements for aircraft operations which will be obtained in the next 20 years and to evaluate the current condition of runways and taxiways. To predict the movement of airplanes in the next 20 years, method which is used is multiple linear regression analysis. The aforementioned evidence above reveals that the ideal runway needs at Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport with the current aircraft movement condition is 3,005 m with a minimum runway width of 45 m. In the next 20 years, it will become 3,815 m of runway length with a minimum width of 45 m and it will be planned 2 exit taxiways with a 45 ° angle located 2051 m and 2963 m from the end of runway

The connectivity and wiener index of order graph in symmetric group / S. M. Kasim

Let G be a finite group and x is an element of G. Then, the order graph of a finite group denoted by OG, is a digraph and for any two distinct vertices x and y, there is an edge from x to y if and only if x divide y. The Wiener index is defined as the summation of distances between all pairs of vertices in a graph. It is one of the topological indices which can be used for analyzing intrinsic properties of molecule structure in chemistry. In this paper, the connectivity and Wiener index of OG are evaluated from the order graph of symmetric groups of degree up to10

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    No full text
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods

Forecast demand of electrical energy Sultan Syarif Kasim II Pekanbaru years 2017-2027 with linear regression method. Linear regression method used to determine to had forecast or predicting the value of one variable in conjuction with other variables. On method is divided into 3 (three) segments services available in the Sultan Syarif Kasim II Pekanbaru, namely aeronautics, non-aeronautics and cargo segments services. Forecast demand of electrical energy influenced by electric energy consumption. The data used history data for 6 (six) years, namely from year 2011 until 2016. Master plan Sultan Syarif Kasim II Pekanbaru City Province of Riau will further developing the airport and necessary forecast demand of electrical energy. The percentage of growth forecast demand of electrical energy Sultan Syarif Kasim II Pekanbaru is 11,15% per-years will total needs 10.842.880,19 kWh in 2017 and increased until 2027 is 35.376.553,72 kWh
