Highly ionized Fe K alpha emission lines from the LINER galaxy M 81
We present spectral and timing results from a long (130 ks) XMM-Newton EPIC observation of the nucleus of the Seyfert/LINER galaxy M 81. During the observation the X-ray flux varied by 20%, but there was no significant change in spectral shape. The 2-10 keV spectrum is well described by a power law continuum and three narrow Fe Kalpha emission lines at 6.4, 6.7 and 6.96 keV. The three emission lines have equivalent widths of 39(-12)(+13), 47(-13)(+13) and 37(-15)(+15) eV respectively. The ratios of the three lines are thus more similar to those observed from the Galactic Centre region than to those typically observed from Seyfert galaxies. The high ionization lines most likely originate either from photoionized gas within 0.1 pc of the nucleus of M 81, or from a non-thermal distribution of cosmic-ray electrons interacting with the 0.2-0.6 keV thermal plasma which is found in the bulge of M 81
Croatian Cultural Centre in Vukovar Architect: Aleksandar Freudenreich
The most significant building made in Vukovar between the Wars was the auditorium of the Croatian Cultural Centre (a theatre in the recent past) – a fine example of Late Secession architecture coupled with Art Déco elements – designed by the architect Aleksandar Freudenreich. The project was worked out in three successive stages: from preliminary design in 1919 through the time when it received the first prize in the 1921 competition, until the final construction stage between 1921 and 1922. A few details indicate that the engineer Fran Funtak might have even been the co-author of some design solutions. The auditorium was inappropriately redesigned in the 1960s. Later it was heavily damaged in the 1991 war

A partial wave analysis of the system produced in at 10 GeV/c
A partial wave analysis of the non-diffractively produced (K/sup 0/ pi /sup +/ pi /sup -/) system has been performed. The system was produced in the reaction K/sup -/p to K/sup 0/ pi /sup +/ pi /sup -/n at 10 GeV /c, measured in the CERN Omega spectrometer. Besides the well-known K* (1420) resonance, the authors find good evidence for the production of Q/sub 2/(1400) and some indication for Q/sub 1/(1290) production in J /sup P/=1/sup +/. In addition a bump in the 1800 MeV region is clearly observed, the properties of which are discussed
