EXPERIMENTAL EVALUATION OF ANTIDEPRESSANT ACTIVITY OF AQUEOUS AND CHLOROFORM LEAF AND SHOOT EXTRACTS OF EICCHORNIA CRASSIPES LINN IN MICE
Objective: To investigate antidepressant activity of aqueous and chloroform extract of Eicchornia crassipes plant leaves and shoots in mice. Methods: The antidepressant activity of aqueous and chloroform extract of Eicchornia crassipes plant leaves and shoots were tested by forced swimtest (FST) and tail suspension test (TST) in albino mice and the results were compared for the both extracts. Imipramine was used as the standardrug for comparison. Results: Phytochemical screening showed presence of carbohydrates, alkaloids, flavanoids, steroids, saponins, amino acids, gums and mucilage.aqueous extract of Eicchornea crassipes (AEEC) and chloroform extract of E. crassipes (CEEC) did not produce any lethal effect even upto 2000 mg/kp.o during acute oral toxicity study. In FST and TST, CEEC showed diminution of duration of immobility time in 200 mg/kg but not in 100 mg/kg. Conclusion: From the above finding concluding that, shortening of immobility time in the FST and TST indicating, CEEC showed more antidepressantactivity acting either by the enhancement of central 5-HT or catecholamine neurotransmission compared to AEEC in mice. Keywords: Eicchornia crassipes, Aqueous extract of Eicchornia crassipes, Chloroform extract of Eicchornia crassipes, Forced swim test,Tail suspension test

Change in the structure and mechanical properties of Al–Mg–Si alloys caused by the addition of other elements: A comprehensive review
Understanding 6xxx AA (Al–Mg–Si alloys) relies heavily on structural analysis at the atomic level. Because the nanoscale precipitates that form during artificial ageing essentially strengthen the alloys, it is crucial to lessen the negative effects of Natural Ageing (NA) and enhance the age hardening of Al–Mg–Si alloys. Numerous studies have shown that when different elements are added to 6xxx AA, NA is suppressed. This work includes a thorough and numerical description of the various elements that are added to 6xxx AA. This article gives information on the additional elements Li, Cu, Zn, and Ag that will form new phases and occupy a preferred site in 6xxx AA at different weight percentages. However, between metastable phases, 6xxx AA exhibit different element segregation, which improved the mechanical properties like hardness reported in this review work. Additionally, research on the addition of various other elements, such as Ni, Co, Au, and Cd to 6xxx AA is reported in this review paper to summarise the influence of these elements on the evolution of microstructural features and their correlation with mechanical properties. This area has received very little research and may be used in the future to enhance the mechanical properties of 6xxx AA. By encouraging precipitate nucleation, morphology, and mechanical properties through the addition of foreign elements, the results of this review paper reveal a novel pathway for precipitation hardening
The Risk of Cancer Correlated with Nitrosamine Exposure
The nitrosamines are a class of carcinogenic compounds that have garnered significant attention due to their association with an increased risk of various cancer types. More than thirty nitrosamines are on California\u27s Proposition 65\u27s list of substances that can cause cancer. Commonly used medications for the treatment of heartburn, hypertension, and type 2 diabetes have recently been contaminated with nitrosamine, which has led to multiple recalls by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Among chemicals and within a particular species of laboratory animal, these nitrosamines share target tumor sites for their common genotoxic and tumorigenic properties. Sometimes the drug valsartan is used to estimate the additional cancer risks associated with NDMA (N-nitrosodimethylamine) and NDEA (N-nitrosodiethylamine) contamination. These estimates are based on nitrosamine levels reported by the US FDA, cancer potencies developed by California\u27s Proposition 65 program and the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and specific exposure scenarios. These estimates indicate that long-term drug use may raise the risk of cancer due to nitrosamine contamination, which is a major public health concern. The purpose of this thorough analysis is to clarify the connection between nitrosamine exposure and the onset of cancer
