In the Internet, multitude of badly conceived and poorly designed sites is now populating the web. The emergence of various browsers also makes cross-browser compatibility more difficult to achieve. In achieving this compatibility, web designers are burden with many problems from Hypertext Mark-up Language (HTML) errors to client-side scripting such as JavaScript to additional plug-ins to even the browsers own bugs. Therefore in this research, the MyFTMSK website have to be tested to see how the pages will be visibly rendered for any particular user using various browsers such as Internet Explorer 6.0, Internet Explorer 5.0, Opera 7.22, Opera 6.0, Mozilla 1.7, Mozilla 1.6, Netscape Navigator 7.22 and Netscape Navigator 4.8 and the effect of 1024x768 and 800x600 pixels resolution. The possible solutions to improve these accessibility problems were generated by using trial and error debugging or validators program and then were applied to MyFTMSK website. The result shows Opera 7.22 is the most compatible browser to be use with this website and 1024x768 pixels resolution is the most suitable resolution. In conclusion, each browser has its built in engine of parsing documents, and not all browsers have the same way of translating web documents. Therefore incompatibilities in terms of browser functions carmot be resolved until browser developers find a standard way of translating web documents

Fracture behaviour of different volume fraction of alumina (AI₂O₃) reinforcement metal matrix composite / Junaidah Jai

    Get PDF
Metal Matrix Composites (MMCs) are engineering materials in which a hard ceramic component is dispersed in a ductile metal matrix in order to obtain characteristics that are superior to those of the conventional monolithic metallic alloys. Due to the superior properties, MMCs are used in aerospace, automotive and other structural applications. Study on the fracture behaviour of the MMCs is necessary. Different percentage by volume (vol.%) of particulate alumina (Ah03) reinforced aluminium alloy (AI 6061) with 5 vol.%, 15 vol.% and 25 vol.% are produced by powder metallurgy method. These samples were then subjected to compressive deformation test in order to investigate the fracture behaviour of the MMCs. Microstructure analysis on the individual sample before and after testing was performed under scanning electron microscopy. It is observed that the small particles measuring below 5 urn in size exhibited strong interfacial bonding with the matrix. The particles below 20 urn to 5 urn in size have shown fracture and debonding at interface. The large particles larger than 20 urn in size have revealed severe fractures and particles pullout. Intergranular microcracks were observed propagated through and ended at the edge of the small cluster. Intergranular microcracks were only observed at the edge of the large clusters. The fracture initiation in the 5 vol.% and 15 vol.% Ah03MMCs is dominated by radial direction displacement, while in 25 vol.% Ah03 MMCs it is dominated by tangential displacement. A non-linear stress-stain profile and an increase of modulus with an increase of vol.% of Ah03 are obtained. The fracture behaviour was explained by relating the micro stuctures, stress-strain profiles , modulus and displacement directions of the undeformed and deformed MMC samples . Some understandings on the fracture behaviour of different vol.% of Ah03 reinforcement MMCs have been established

Aktivitas belajar siswa juga mengalami peningkatan dari rata-rata setelah siklus I 2,00 naik menjadi rata-rata 3,00 setelah siklus II

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    Get PDF
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Aluminium (Al) is an amazing material due to its low cost, lightweight and corrosion resistance. However, Al is easily corroded when exposed in solution containing pitting agents. Suitable corrosion inhibitor should be used and palm olein has a promising characteristics. For this work, formulation of palm olein (PO) as corrosion inhibitor for Al in aqueous solution was developed. Tween 20, hexane and diethyl triamine were used as the additives and the formulated inhibitor was labeled as POT20HA. The X-ray diffractometer (XRD) spectrum revealed that the POT20HA was an amide compound. The inhibition efficiency (IE) and behaviour of the POT20HA were determined through weight loss (WL), potentiodynamic polarization (PP) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). For the tests, Al 6061 was immersed in 1 M HC1 solution at different temperatures of 26°C (299 K), 50°C (323 K) and 70°C (343 K) with different concentrations of POT20HA of 0, 0.03, 0.07, 0.10, 0.13 and 0.17 M. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) coupled with Energy Dispersion X-ray analysis (EDAX) was used to examine the morphology of the corroded Al 6061. The WL test had shown that the IE increased with increasing concentration of POT20HA at all temperatures under study. However, the IE decreased with increasing of temperature and immersion time. The PP study revealed the POT20HA as a mixed type of inhibitor, which is capable of protecting both the anodic and cathodic reactions of the corrosion process. The EIS study had shown the ability of POT20HA in forming protective passive film on Al 6061 surface. The thickness of the passive film increased accordingly with the increase in concentration but decreased with increasing temperature. The corrosion tests showed that POT20HA adsorbed on the Al 6061 surface through physical adsorption according to the Langmuir isotherm relationship. The adsorption mechanism of POT20HA on the Al 6061 was through protonation of micelles by the HC1 solution. The protonated micelles, with the presence of CI" ions, adsorbed both on the cathodic and anodic sides of the corroding surface. Performance test had shown that the POT20HA has performed as an anticorrosion with glycerin as a coolant in an Al car radiator
