John Collins Moore of Moores Hill, in Dearborn County, works with community leaders to establish a college there. He has little formal schooling, but believes strongly in education. Moore, a Methodist, holds the organizational meeting in the local Methodist Church. Ultimately the college is established and affiliated with the Methodist Episcopal Church.
