Antibacterial Activity of Moringa Plants (Moringa oleifera Lam.) to Overcome Antibiotic Resistance: A Systematic Review
Antibiotic resistance This causes the performance of synthetic antibiotics to decrease, so it is necessary to search for natural antibiotics. Moringa plant (Moringa oleifera Lam.) has antibacterial activity proven to inhibit and kill pathogenic bacteria and Multi-Drug Resistance (MDR)article review aims to collect data related to testing the antibacterial activity of Moringa plants as an effort to overcome antibiotic resistance. The method follows the PRISMA-2020 protocol by searching data on PubMed and ScienceDirect media using the keywords: "Antibacterial activity" and "Moringa oleifera". The data selection uses the Rayyan application by considering the inclusion and exclusion criteria that have been set. The final results obtained are 95 data which are experimental journals of the Randomized Control Trial (RCT) type published in 1981-2021. Moringa plants began to be investigated for their activity against MDR bacteria in 2012 and became a sign that research was already in the direction of finding solutions. Antibacterial testing was carried out in vitro (10 studies) and in vivo (1 study). The leaves have been thoroughly tested for their activity against Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). The results of in vitro study obtained the range of zone of inhibition, minimum inhibitory concentration, and minimum kill concentration, respectively: 8.3-12 mm; 0.25-20 mg/ml; 0.50-20 mg/ml study in vivo showed that there was the healing of MRSA infection wounds in test animals
Implementation of Drug Information Services at Colomadu II and Jaten II Health Centers, Karanganyar Regency
Drug Information Service (DIS) is an activity provided by pharmacists to patients. However, some aspects of DIS are often not implemented, resulting in non-compliance and failure of therapy in patients. Health center pharmacists often do not explain to patients about the side effects, interactions and contraindications of drugs. This study aims to determine the implementation of drug information services in health care facilities in two health centers in Karanganyar Regency, namely Colomadu II and Jaten II Health Centers. This study is a cross-sectional study conducted in July and August 2023 at two health centers in Karanganyar Regency, Indonesia, namely Colomadu II and Jaten II Health Centers. This study used a survey questionnaire given to patients seeking treatment at Colomadu II and Jaten II Health Centers. This study involved a total of 50 participants, with the same number of respondents from both Colomadu II and Jaten II Health Centers. The results of this study indicate that the DIS given to patients at the Health Center, in six aspects of information, namely name, preparation, dosage, use, storage, drug indications have been (100%) conveyed, but four of the ten indicators, namely contraindications, stability, side effects, and drug interactions have not been provided optimally (below 100%). that there is no significant difference in the two health centers in each variable because the p value 0.05. Based on the results of statistical analysis, it was found that there was no significant difference in the implementation of Drug Information Services between Colomadu II and Jaten II Health Centers in the implementation of PIO drug storage (p = 1.00), drug contraindications (p = 0.556), drug stability (p = 0.728), drug side effects (p = 0.222), and drug interactions (p = 0.095). This needs to be a concern for Pharmacists and pharmacy staff at the Health Center to support the safety of drug use and successful treatment
EVALUATION AND DESIGN OF MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT IN COMPLETENESS OF RECIPE SCREENING IN AR-RASYID ISLAMIC HOSPITAL PALEMBANG
Errors in prescribing and administering drugs are things that often occur in medicine, so in an effort to improve pharmaceutical performance, an evaluation and development of a SIM is carried out to support pharmaceutical services in hospitals. The aim of this research is to evaluate the Management Information System needs at RSI Ar-Rasyid Palembang and continue with the development of a design model. This research is descriptive research conducted through direct observation and documentation. The development of this research system uses a prototype method starting from needs analysis, system design and implementation of the EUCS (End User Computing Satisfaction) framework system, creating a system design using context diagrams, Data Flow Diagrams and Entity Relationship Data, the data analysis method used is qualitative analysis. The results of the research from direct observation on the completeness of the IFRS SIM show that the SIM at RSI Ar-Rasyid in pharmaceutical screening has been fulfilled, but in administrative screening and clinical screening it has not been fulfilled and the results of evaluation using a questionnaire distributed to pharmaceutical installation staff show an average the answer to each statement variable is satisfied. In making a draft design, there are suggestions that include clinical screening of prescriptions, it is hoped that this will help pharmacy installation staff in providing services to avoid medication errors. Based on system design, input design and output design, the patient prescription screening management information system design meets the criteria so it is ready to be implemented into the system
Aktivitas sitotoksik dan antiangiogenesis umbi mentimun papasan (Coccinia grandis L.Voight) terhadap sel kanker hela yang diinduksi protein bFGF
Background: Cancer is a leading cause of death in Indonesia and in the world. Cervical cancer is one of the most common cancers in women. One of the plants that has the potential to be developed as an alternative treatment for cancer is the papasan cucumber tuber (Coccinia grandis (L) Voight). This study aims to determine the activity of cytotoxic effects on Hela cancer cells and antiangiogenesis activity against Chorioallantoic membrane.
Method: In this study, papasan cucumber tubers were extracted with 96% ethanol solvent. The ethanol extract was then continued with fractionation using the liquid-liquid partition method, followed by thin-layer chromatography used to determine of compounds contained in the papasan cucumber tubers. Cytotoxic activity tests were carried out using the MTT assay method and antiangiogenesis tests were carried out using CAM methods of chicken embryos induced with bFGF protein.
Results: The results showed that the extract, n-hexane fraction, ethyl acetate fraction and water fraction had IC50 values 986,604 µg/ml, 208,776 µg/ml, 187,824 µg/ml and 553,393 µg/ml. The IC50 value of the n-hexane fraction was then continued with antiangiogenesis testing. The KLT analysis showed that the n-hexane fraction contained alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and terpenes. Antiangiogenesis test result show that the inhibitory at concentration of 104 µg / ml was 17,56%, at a concentration of 208 µg / ml 43,23% and at a concentration of 418 µg / ml 56,78%.
Conclusion: n-hexane fraction and ethyl acetate fraction have moderate cytotoxic activity against Hela cancer cells and n-hexane fraction has antiangiogenesis activity.

UJI AKTIVITAS MINYAK ATSIRI KULIT BUAH JERUK NIPIS (Citrus aurantifolia, Swingle) DALAM SEDIAAN LOTION SEBAGAI REPELAN TERHADAP NYAMUK Aedes aegypti
Kulit buah jeruk nipis (Citrus aurantifolia, Swingle) merupakan salah satu familia Rutaceae yang mengandung minyak atsiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas minyak atsiri sari kulit buah jeruk nipis sebagai penolak nyamuk (repelan) terhadap nyamuk Aedes aegepti yang dinyatakan denga EC90 dengan pembanding autan. Minyak atsiri kulit buah jeruk nipis diperoleh dengan cara destilasi air. Minyak atsiri yang didapat dari destilasi air kemudian dibuat lotion dengan konsentrasi 10%, 20% dan 40%. Pengamatan dilakukan selama 6 jam untuk mengetahui jumlah nyamuk yang hinggap pada ketiga konsentrasi, kemudian dihitung harga EC90 dengan menggunakan analisa probit. Pada penelitian ini diperoleh nilai EC90 67,00%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pada konsentrasi 67,00% minyak atsiri dari kulit jeruk nipis sudah dapat menolak nyamuk 90% hewan uji
Altered in vitro muscle differentiation in X-linked myopathy with excessive autophagy
International audienceX-linked myopathy with excessive autophagy (XMEA) is a genetic disease associated with weakness of the proximal muscles. It is caused by mutations in the VMA21 gene, coding for a chaperone that functions in the vacuolar ATPase (v-ATPase) assembly. Mutations associated with lower content of assembled v-ATPases lead to an increase in lysosomal pH, culminating in partial blockage of macroautophagy, with accumulation of vacuoles of undigested content. Here, we studied a 5-year-old boy affected by XMEA, caused by a small indel in the VMA21 gene. Detection of sarcoplasmic Lc3 (also known as MAP1LC3B)-positive vacuoles in his muscle biopsy confirmed an autophagy defect. To understand how autophagy is regulated in XMEA myogenesis, we used patient-derived muscle cells to evaluate autophagy during in vitro muscle differentiation. An increase in lysosomal pH was observed in the patient's cells, compatible with predicted functional defect of his mutation. Additionally, there was an increase in autophagic flux in XMEA myotubes. Interestingly, we observed that differentiation of XMEA myoblasts was altered, with increased myotube formation observed through a higher fusion index, which was not dependent on lysosomal acidification. Moreover, no variation in the expression of myogenic factors nor the presence of regenerating fibers in the patient's muscle were observed. Myoblast fusion is a tightly regulated process; therefore, the uncontrolled fusion of XMEA myoblasts might generate cells that are not as functional as normal muscle cells. The factors which influence the selection of physical targets by terrorist groups
The aim of terrorism is to influence a group of people
or institutions - the psychological target or targets - by
attacking the appropriate physical targets in order to prompt
the desired response. Several factors influence the selection
of physical targets by non-state terrorist groups. These
include the ideology of the terrorist group concerned, the
strategy adopted by the group and its capabilities, its need
to take account of external opinion - including that of
supporters, the measures adopted to protect likely targets,
and the security environment within which the terrorist group
operates. In addition, decision-making is affected by the
dynamics within the group which are in turn affected by the
psychological pressures of clandestinity and the frequent
risk of death or capture which many terrorists run.
The relationship between these factors varies from
group to group, which is inevitable given the idiosyncratic
nature of most terrorist groups, and the different
circumstances in which they find themselves. However, it can
generally be said that ideology sets out the moral framework
within which terrorists operate - and which determines
whether terrorists judge it to be legitimate to attack a
range of target. After this, the determination of which
targets it will actually be beneficial to attack depends upon
the strategy which the group has adopted as a means of
achieving its political objectives. The determination of
their strategic objectives depends upon the effects which the
terrorists hope their attacks will achieve. Thus, strategy
further refines the range of targets initially delimited by
the group's ideology.
The other factors mentioned tend to act as constraints
upon the group, partly - as with security measures - in
restricting them from carrying out the types of attacks which
they would desire but also in encouraging them to carry out
attacks on certain targets in the hope of gaining benefits
such as the approval of their supporters, or of gaining
publicity for their cause. Underlying all of this is the
human factor, whereby relations within the group, the impact
of psychological pressure, and individual differences in
moral judgements may influence the targets chosen by
terrorists
Guidelines for the use and interpretation of assays for monitoring autophagy (4th edition)
none2929siIn 2008, we published the first set of guidelines for standardizing research in autophagy. Since then, this topic has received increasing attention, and many scientists have entered the field. Our knowledge base and relevant new technologies have also been expanding. Thus, it is important to formulate on a regular basis updated guidelines for monitoring autophagy in different organisms. Despite numerous reviews, there continues to be confusion regarding acceptable methods to evaluate autophagy, especially in multicellular eukaryotes. Here, we present a set of guidelines for investigators to select and interpret methods to examine autophagy and related processes, and for reviewers to provide realistic and reasonable critiques of reports that are focused on these processes. These guidelines are not meant to be a dogmatic set of rules, because the appropriateness of any assay largely depends on the question being asked and the system being used. Moreover, no individual assay is perfect for every situation, calling for the use of multiple techniques to properly monitor autophagy in each experimental setting. Finally, several core components of the autophagy machinery have been implicated in distinct autophagic processes (canonical and noncanonical autophagy), implying that genetic approaches to block autophagy should rely on targeting two or more autophagy-related genes that ideally participate in distinct steps of the pathway. Along similar lines, because multiple proteins involved in autophagy also regulate other cellular pathways including apoptosis, not all of them can be used as a specific marker for bona fide autophagic responses. Here, we critically discuss current methods of assessing autophagy and the information they can, or cannot, provide. Guidelines for the use and interpretation of assays for monitoring autophagy (4th edition)
In 2008, we published the first set of guidelines for standardizing research in autophagy. Since then, this
topic has received increasing attention, and many scientists have entered the field. Our knowledge base
and relevant new technologies have also been expanding. Thus, it is important to formulate on a regular
basis updated guidelines for monitoring autophagy in different organisms. Despite numerous reviews,
there continues to be confusion regarding acceptable methods to evaluate autophagy, especially in
multicellular eukaryotes. Here, we present a set of guidelines for investigators to select and interpret
methods to examine autophagy and related processes, and for reviewers to provide realistic and
reasonable critiques of reports that are focused on these processes. These guidelines are not meant
to be a dogmatic set of rules, because the appropriateness of any assay largely depends on the question
being asked and the system being used. Moreover, no individual assay is perfect for every situation,
calling for the use of multiple techniques to properly monitor autophagy in each experimental setting.
Finally, several core components of the autophagy machinery have been implicated in distinct autophagic processes (canonical and noncanonical autophagy), implying that genetic approaches to block
autophagy should rely on targeting two or more autophagy-related genes that ideally participate in
distinct steps of the pathway. Along similar lines, because multiple proteins involved in autophagy also
regulate other cellular pathways including apoptosis, not all of them can be used as a specific marker for
bona fide autophagic responses. Here, we critically discuss current methods of assessing autophagy and
the information they can, or cannot, provide. Our ultimate goal is to encourage intellectual and technical

none2929sìIn 2008, we published the first set of guidelines for standardizing research in autophagy. Since then, this topic has received increasing attention, and many scientists have entered the field. Our knowledge base and relevant new technologies have also been expanding. Thus, it is important to formulate on a regular basis updated guidelines for monitoring autophagy in different organisms. Despite numerous reviews, there continues to be confusion regarding acceptable methods to evaluate autophagy, especially in multicellular eukaryotes. Here, we present a set of guidelines for investigators to select and interpret methods to examine autophagy and related processes, and for reviewers to provide realistic and reasonable critiques of reports that are focused on these processes. These guidelines are not meant to be a dogmatic set of rules, because the appropriateness of any assay largely depends on the question being asked and the system being used. Moreover, no individual assay is perfect for every situation, calling for the use of multiple techniques to properly monitor autophagy in each experimental setting. Finally, several core components of the autophagy machinery have been implicated in distinct autophagic processes (canonical and noncanonical autophagy), implying that genetic approaches to block autophagy should rely on targeting two or more autophagy-related genes that ideally participate in distinct steps of the pathway. Along similar lines, because multiple proteins involved in autophagy also regulate other cellular pathways including apoptosis, not all of them can be used as a specific marker for bona fide autophagic responses. Here, we critically discuss current methods of assessing autophagy and the information they can, or cannot, provide.
