Model data and post-processed data supporting the creation of the manuscript "Estimating the Meridional Extent of Adiabatic Mixing in the Stratosphere using Age-of-Air" submitted to JGR:Atmospheres in August 2022. 1) The netCDF files created through post-processing of full model data in FORTRAN are shared in the /data/ directory. These file contains the zonal mean circulation statistics based on Gupta et al. (2020), age-of-air transport diagnostics based on Linz et al. (2021), and the novel \Gamma-\Theta circulation streamfunction introduced in this study. The /data/ directory also contains MATLAB .mat data files for the transport diagnostics obtained from WACCM. 150 days of actual GFDL-FV3 model data in the northern hemisphere, between 0.1 hPa-500 hPa pressure levels is also provided to support external computations and validation. 2) The Jupyter notebook used for final computation and figures production is provided in .ipynb, .html and .pdf formats in /code/. All the files referred to in the notebook are stored in the /data/ directory. Corresponding author : Aman Gupta, [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]

In the paper ‘Capital Inflows and House Prices: Aggregate and Regional Evidence from China’ by H. An, et al., printed in the December 2016 issue, there was a missing acknowledgement section for funding resources. On page 451, the acknowledgement section should appear after the corresponding information as: “Correspondence: Rakesh Gupta, Department of Accounting, Finance and Economics, Griffith Business School, Griffith University, Nathan Campus QLD 4111. Bibliography of the publications by the staff of CMFRI 1948-1985

    No full text
The scientific staff ot the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute have been engaged in research on various aspects of marine fisheries and oceanography since the establishment of the Institute in 1947. The results of research were published by them in various scientific papers incorporated in the Institute's publications like the Indian Journal of Fisheries, Bulletins, Special Publications, Marine Fisheries Information Service, Annual Reports and also in the Journal of the Marine Biological Association of India over the past 38 years. Papers have also been published in standard Indian and foreign journals and in the proceedings of the national and international Symposia and Seminars. An attempt has been made in 1967 to compile a list of publications of the staff of the Institute yearwise in the Souvenir released by the Recreation Club of the Institute on the 20th year of establishment of the Institute. The scientific output of the Institute has greatly increased in recent years and the papers resulting out of the research efforts have also been wide spread in different journals. However, no further attempt has again been made to bring together all the publications of the scientific staff of the Institute at one place. Such an endeavour, it is felt, would not only reflect the entire work of the Institute, but also facilitates easy reference to the work of the Institute making it a valuable source of reference for the scientific community engaged in marine sciences research. Therefore, in the present publication entitled 'Bibliography: the publications by the staff of Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute 1948-1985', all papers published by the staff from the year 1948 to 1985 have been compiled yearwise and authorwise in alphabetical order. In doing so, care has been taken to include as many publications as possible. But there can still be some omissions. It should be possible to include such references at a later date when the Bibliography may be updated. It is earnestly hoped that this comprehensive volume of references would serve a very useful purpose for the scientific community within this country and abroad. In this connection, I have great pleasure to record my sincere appreciation of the efforts put in by Dr. K. Rengarajan, Scientist S 2, Miss. Jancy Jacob, Scientist S 1 and Shri V. Edwin Joseph, Senior Library Assistant to collect, consolidate and arrange in a systematic manner all the titles of the papers included in this volume. I also appreciate the services of Smt. N. Ambika, Miss. N. R. Letha Devi, Miss. K. V. Sajitha and Shri C. N. Chandrasekharan for the meticulous care exercised in typing the draft of the bibliography

First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Biology Open, helping early-career researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Akash Gupta is first author on ‘A novel and cost-effective ex vivo orthotopic model for the study of human breast cancer in mouse mammary gland organ culture’, published in BiO. Akash conducted the research described in this article while a PhD Scholar in Rajendra Mehta's lab at IIT Research Institute, Chicago, USA. He is now an assistant research scientist in the lab of Syreeta L. Tilghman at the University of Arizona, Department of Medicine, Tucson, USA, investigating drug efficacy modeling using human organoids culture for the treatment of cancers

Factors influencing aspiration of marine fishermen

    No full text
A major behavioural factor that affects adoption and development is the level of aspiration. The level of aspiration is a decisive determinant for raising the productivity as wen as standard of living (Muthayya, 1971). The present study is designed to identify the variables which significantly influence the level of aspiration of marine fishermen. The results of the study win help to identify the relationship between aspiration and socio-personal characteristics which in turn can be used in the development of more precise and effective programmes of fishery development according to varying personal traits and aspiration

A problem-solving model for the production of home-made prawn feeds — A case study

    No full text
A wide gap exists between research findings and end users in the fisheries sector. The quality of a good technology is that it should be triable in field at a small scale, should earn good profit in comparison to existing practices, must be compatible with socio-cultural values and beliefs and should be simple and observable type. Extension researchers have developed different models for the linkage between research and practice. One of the best models is the problem solving model, which starts with the person who has a problem either with research or innovation. A farmer will need information to solve his problem. A part of the information will come from the experience of the farmers in a particular farming system and other part will come either from the existing research findings or from new research carried out to solve the problem. So technology should be developed keeping in view the problems, values and socio-economic levels of fishermen
