Teams in the spotlight - A handbook for team development
Teams are the building blocks of an organisation. Despite this, most organisations focus on individual, rather than team, development. Shining a spotlight on teams, this book outlines practical, hands-on methods and tools to improve collaboration and performance, allowing teams to reach their full potential. The theoretical background to the text is Susan A. Wheelans research on teams and her Integrated Model of Group Development (IMGD), which is evidence based and easy to apply. Throughout the book there are real life examples, reflections made by team members and managers, that illustrate team development in practice. Teams in the spotlight is essential reading for team members, team leaders, team consultants and anyone working in HR. Mette Sandahl (organisational consultant, ICF certified coach), Mattias Wihlborg (work environment specialist, organisational consultant), Maria Åkerlund (licensed psychologist, organisational consultant,) and Christian Jacobsson (associate professor, licensed psychologist) all have extensive experience as team consultants within international as well as Swedish organisations
Tinkerbell and the Empire State Building [Elektronisk resurs] : Recalling what seems to be forgotten
“I do believe in fairies! I do! I do!!” (Peter Pan)In the 1905 play “Peter Pan; or the Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up”, Sir James Matthew Barrie described how Peter Pan, through his strong beliefs, brought the fairy Tinkerbell back to life. In this short essay, we aim to initiate discussions on the role of strong beliefs and the so-called “Tinkerbell effect” in upholding taken-for-granted assumptions within the construction industry. As the basis for the discussion, the essay reports on a recently published journal article in Business Horizons entitled “Revisiting the construction of the Empire State Building: Have we forgotten something?” (Jacobsson and Wilson, 2018). Presently the article is also sold as a case study and teaching case by Harvard Business Review. Performativity and the Construction of Children's Citizenship in Backa Theatre's Staging of Lille Kung Mattias (2009/2010)
The aim of this article is to investigate and explain how performativity, as defined by J.L. Austin and Judith Butler, can be viewed as an important element within the narrative framework of Lille Kung Mattias (Little King Mattias), as performed by Backa Theatre in Gothenburg, Sweden, during the 20092010 season. Lille Kung Mattias, directed by Mattias Andersson, is based on the novel Król Macius ́ Pierwszy (1923) by Polish author Janusz Korczak, and has been performed for children aged 11 upwards. I explore how class, age and gender are »made« (and also fail to be made) performatively, and show how being a king is revealed as a performative act precisely then, when Mattias receives all the attire and the title but doesn’t move or talk like an adult king. Thus he fails to fulfil expectations. But thereafter, in terms that Butler uses, Mattias pushes the borders of what a king can be and do by iteratively »making« a new kind of king. In the end, the audience also change their behaviour by becoming an active part of the performance

Possibilities of improving cost accounting in example of OÜ Mattias Café
Käesoleva bakalaureusetöö eesmärgiks oli analüüsida OÜ Mattias Cafe kuluarvestuse olemust ja teha ettepanekuid ettevõtte kuluarvestuse täiustamiseks.
Tulenevalt eesmärgist on käesolevas bakalaureusetöös täidetud järgmisi uurimisülesandeid:
• Anda ülevaade kuluarvestuse teoreetilistest alustest
• Anda ülevaade OÜ Mattias Cafe majandustegevusest
• Iseloomustada ja analüüsida OÜ Mattas Cafe kuluarvestust.
• Teha ettepanekuid OÜ Mattias Cafe kuluarvestuse täiustamiseks
Bakalaureusetöö koosneb kahest peatükist. Töö esimeses peatükis on käsitletud kuluarvestuse teoreetilisi aluseid.
Bakalaureusetöö teine peatükk sisaldab OÜ Mattias Cafe tutvustust, ülevaadet ettevõttes toimuvast kuluarvestusest ja kuluarvestuse täiustamistest OÜ Mattias Cafes, kus on töö autor teinud ettepanekuid ettevõtte kuluarvestuse täiustamise võimalustest.
Ettevõte OÜ Mattias Cafe alustas oma tegevust 2005. aasta detsembris, avades Tartu linnas kohvik-restorani nimega Werner. Ettevõtte põhitegevusalaks oli toitlustamine. Praeguseks on sellest välja kujunenud Cafe-lounge Werner, mis koondab endasse järgmised kulukohad: kohviku, restorani, cateringi ja kondiitri. Ettevõttes töötab hetkel 47 inimest.
Konkreetset kaasaegset kuluarvestussüsteemi OÜ Mattias Cafes tegelikult ei eksisteerigi. Kui vaadelda bakalaureusetöö peatükis 1. toodud kolme peamist funktsiooni, mida kulude arvestamise süsteem peaks täitma, siis OÜ Mattias Cafe kulude arvestamist silmas pidades on autor seisukohal, et Kaplani ja Cooperi toodud kolmest funktsioonist täidab ettevõtte kuluarvestus ainult esimest funktsiooni. Ehk praeguse seisuga on võimalik selgelt hinnata vaid varusid. Isegi tööjõukulud jaotatakse juhtkonna poolt kinnitatud koenfitsientide alusel.
OÜ Mattias Cafes on siiani praegune kulude arvestamise praktika toiminud, kuid seoses planeeritud tootmismahu märkimisväärse suurenemisega on vajadus kuluarvestuse täiustamise järele. Praegune kuluarvestus ei võimalda saada detailset infot juhtimisotsuste langetamiseks, kuna sisaldab suure osa kulude kaudset jaotamist toodanguühikule.
Ettevõttes ei arvestata kulusid kulukohtade ehk allüksuste lõikes. Kulukohti on hetkel ettevõttes vaid üks- ettevõte tervikuna.
OÜ Mattias Cafes on oluline määratleda kulukohad, kinnistada kulukohtade koodid, mis annab juhtkonnale võimaluse saada infot selle kohta, millistes ettevõtte konkreetsetes osades kulutused tekivad ja milliste kulukandjatega antud kulukohad on seotud. Töö autori arvates võiks OÜ Mattias Cafe kulukohtadeks olla kohvik, restoran, pagar-kondiitri osakond, catering ja kontor.
Kulukohtade arvestuse jaoks tuleb ettevõttes kasutusel olevas kontoplaanis muudatusi teha.
Tegevuspõhise kuluarvestuse kohaselt on kulude põhjustajateks tegevused, mitte tooted. Toodete valmistamiseks kasutatakse tegevusi.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the essence of OÜ Mattias Café cost accounting and make proposals for improvements of company’s cost accounting.

”Jag tror att det var rätt i tiden” - En studie av beslutsprocessen bakom införandet av sprutbytesprogrammet
Author: Mattias Olsson Title: “I think the time was right” A study of the decision making behind the needle exchange programme Supervisor: Eva-Malin Antoniusson Assessor: Mats Hilte The aim of this Bachelor thesis is to highlight the decision making process of the Scanian politicians regarding the local needle-exchange programme by using Kingdons agenda-setting theory. It is based upon interviews with five Scanian politicians. I have come to the conclusion that the HIV-epidemic was the one thing that enabled the making of the first programmes. The social services and doctors specialized in drug abuse were the two groups with the most influence on the political decision making
Play, Belief and Stories about Robots: A Case Study of a Pleo Blogging Community
We present an analysis based on user-provided content collected from online blogs and forums about the robotic artifact Pleo. Our primary goal is to explore stories about how human-robot interaction would manifest themselves in actual real-world contexts. To be able to assess these types of communicative media we are using a method based on virtual ethnography that specifically addresses underlying issues in how the data is produced and should be interpreted. Results indicate that generally people are staging, performing and have a playful approach to the interaction. This is further emphasized by the way people communicate their stories through the blogging practice. Finally we argue that these resources are indeed essential for understanding and designing long-term human-robot relationships.LIRE
Guest editorial : World views on projects and society
This Special Section of International Journal of Managing Projects in Business contains a collection of six articles focusing on various aspects related to the topic of World Views on Projects and Society. Based in the far-reaching projectification of society (Jacobsson and Jałocha, 2018), and the observation that projects of today both shapes and are shaped by society (Packendorff and Lindgren, 2014), the contributing authors of this Special Section were encouraged to address areas of social concern and the framework(s) of ideas and beliefs which form the way in which people interpret the world and interacts within it. The general themes of this Special Section were inspired by ideas presented in the book Managing and working in project society (Lundin et al., 2015; Lundin, 2016). In the call for the Special Section, three interrelated themes were proposed – “World Views on Projects in Society,” “the World of Projects in Society” and “the Role of Projects in the World” – which together opened up for a broad understanding of the projectification trend which is spreading throughout most parts of society and the world today.</p
