No full textPenelitian ini mengkaji pemanfaatan waktu dalam novel Masa karya Musa Ismail. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskripsi analisis yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis dimensi waktu pada novel Demi Masa karya Musa Ismail. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan konsep waktu dan penjabaran waktu oleh tokoh-tokoh pada novel Demi Masa karya Musa Ismail. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa bentuk konsep waktu paling dominan dalam mempengaruhi keseharian tokoh-tokoh dalam Novel Demi Masa Karya Musa Ismail. Peristiwa berupa kata dan kalimat dari tokoh dalam Novel Demi Masa Karya Musa Ismail yang mengandung konsep waktu. Ditemukan bahwa pada konsep waktu tokoh lebih banyak membahas dan mengingat waktu zahir (alam dunia) yang dimana sebagian dari tokoh memanfaatkan waktu zahir sebagai kesempatan untuk memperbanyak kegiatan beribadah dan beramal kepada tuhan dan sebagiannya memanfaatkan waktu zahir sebagai kesempatan untuk memuaskan diri di duni

No full textCollaborative teaching, exemplified by the inclusion of guest speakers, plays a pivotal role in cultivating a vibrant and enriching learning atmosphere for students. This method broadens students' exposure to diverse learning opportunities by introducing them to educators with distinctive teaching styles, beyond their regular lecturers. Additionally, an invited speaker can provide exclusive perspectives and insights that might be absent in current learning environments. A talk entitled ‘A Guide to Effective Oral Presentations’ was recently organised by lecturers teaching Integrated Language Skills III (ELC231) course, namely Nazima Versay Kudus, Dr. Isma Noornisa Ismail, Muriatul Khusmah Musa from UiTM Cawangan Pulau Pinang and Rosmaliza Mohamed from UiTM Cawangan Kelantan on November 22, 2023. This one-hour session garnered the participation of 50 students during the live event, while additional attendees accessed the recording. Dr. Norhaslinda Hassan, the Head of the Department of the Academy of Language Studies, initiated the event with a welcoming speech. The invited speaker for this session is Madam Agelyia Murugan, a lecturer at the School of General and Foundation Studies, AIMST University. She is an accomplished educator and scholar and has made significant contributions to the field of English language education especially in publications and innovation projects. Madam Agelyia is currently pursuing her PhD in Teaching English as a Second Language and is expected to complete it by December 2023

The data collection techniques used are documentation, interview, record and record techniques. The source of this research data is a novel with the title Sumbang and the subject of the informant, namely Mr. Musa Ismail as the author of the novel Sumbang. The results showed that there is an author's view of character conflicts, namely, character conflicts between individuals and individuals and individuals with society or groups

This study is based on theory of transitivity in Systemic Functional Linguistics. In this research, the writer uses descriptive qualitative method since the writer attempts to identify each clause in all process types, related participants, related circumstances and field of discourse in the Friday Sermon delivered by Mufti Ismail Ibn Musa Menk at The East London Mosque, Whitechapel on September 27th, 2013. There are 513 clauses found in the Friday Sermon. There are 244 (47,56%) material process; 77 (15%) mental process; 22 (4,28%) behavioural process; 32 (6,23%) verbal process; 129 (25,14%) relational process; and 2 (0,38%) existential process. Material process becomes the dominant, while existential process becomes the least and also there is no meteorological process in the Friday Sermon. Material process becomes the dominant because the sermoner, Mufti Ismail Ibn Musa Menk invites the audience in his Friday sermon to obey all the instructions of Allah
Moisture absorption and diffusivity of epoxy filled layered-structure nanocomposite
No full textThis paper studies moisture absorption and diffusivity of epoxy reinforced layered structure nanocomposites and its effect on fracture toughness. Two different types of layered fillers employed in the study were clay and graphene platelets, in which both surface layers were unmodified and modified by characterized by swelling analysis and fracture toughness measurement. The outcomes surfactant. The nanocomposites were showed that the moisture absorption and diffusivity decreased with the addition of layered fillers. It was found that the modified graphene platelets and clay outperformed the unmodified layers and neat epoxy in terms of reduction of moisture absorption and diffusivity. The modified graphene platelets reduced the moisture uptake and diffusivity about 30% and 33%, respectively compare to neat epoxy, thus indicates its outstanding performance in barrier applications. However, once the nanocomposites were swelling in the water for 5 days, it is noticed that the fracture toughness of nanocomposites were reduced significantly about 35% in average. Nevertheless, the modified graphene platelets still display the better performance compare to the other samples although there was reduction of fracture toughness
