국문요약 63DoctoralPlasma is a mixture of electrons, ions, and energetic photons in the form of ionized gas that is generated when the gas is further energized. Non-thermal atmospheric plasma has several medical effects such as sterilization, anti-cancer, anti-inflammation, and tissue regeneration. However, the existing probe type is limited to local direct treatment. Therefore, we investigated the various effects using liquid type plasma to overcome this limitation. In addition, the therapeutic effects of non-thermal plasma treated solution (NTS) on upper airway mucosa have yet to be determined. In the first part, the effect of NTS on the regeneration of nasal mucosa was studied. Experiments were carried out using BEAS-2B, a human bronchial epithelial cell line similar to nasal mucosa epithelium. NTS had no cytotoxicity to the BEAS-2B cells and enhanced cell proliferation. NTS also promoted migration of BEAS-2B cells. NTS increased cell proliferation and migration via epidermal growth factor receptor activities and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition signaling. Furthermore, NTS enhanced wound healing of nasal mucosa in an animal model. In the second part, the effect of NTS on the regeneration of vocal fold mucosa was examined. Migration and matrix metalloproteinase-2 expression of lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-treated human vocal fold-derived mesenchymal stem cells (VF-MSCs) were enhanced by NTS treatment. NTS treatment not only ameliorated nuclear factor-κB and interleukin-6 activation, induced by NTS treatment, but also the increased manifestation of α-smooth muscle actin and fibronectin, induced by transforming growth factor-ß. In a rabbit vocal fold scarring animal model, histological analyses showed increased hyaluronic acid deposition and decreased collagen accumulation after NTS injection. Videokymographic analysis showed more improved vibrations in NTS-treated vocal fold mucosa compared to those in non-treated group. The results of this study suggest that NTS may improve regeneration of the upper airway mucosa and improve functional remodeling following damage to the upper airway mucosa
Tunable band gap in epitaxial ferroelectric Ho(Mn,Ga)O3 films
Ferroelectrics have recently attracted attention as a new class of materials for use in optical and photovoltaic devices. We studied the electronic properties in epitaxially stabilized ferroelectric hexagonal Ho(Mn1- xGax)O3 (x = 0, 0.33, 0.67, and 1) thin films. Our films exhibited systematic changes in electronic structures, such as bandgap and optical transitions, according to the Ga concentration. In particular, the bandgap increased systematically from 1.4 to 3.2 eV, including the visible light region, with increasing Ga concentration from x = 0 to 1. These systematic changes, attributed to lattice parameter variations in epitaxial Ho(Mn1- xGax)O3 films, should prove useful for the design of optoelectronic devices based on ferroelectrics. © 2016 Author(s)1111sciescopu

Fine-Tuning of Molecular Energy Level of Alternating Copolymers On the basis of [1,2,5]Thiadiazolo[3,4-g]quinoxaline Derivatives for Polymer Photovoltaics
A series of low-bandgap alternating copolymers consisting of electron-accepting [1,2,5]thiadiazolo[3,4-g]quinoxaline (TQ) derivatives and electron-donating fluorene or carbazole were synthesized via the Suzuki coupling reaction. For the purpose to fine-tune the molecular energy level of alternating copolymers and thus to improve charge transfer between polymers and PCBM, two different TQ derivatives substituted with strongly electron-donating butoxy group or weakly electron-donating thienyl group were synthesized and used as a building block of alternating copolymers. Copolymers with butoxy-substituted TQ have proper lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) energy levels for effective charge dissociation between polymer and PCBM, whereas the LUMO levels of copolymers with thienyl-substituted TQ are too close to that of PCBM to be effective for charge dissociation. The power conversion efficiency was achieved up to 2.17%, which is the highest value among the TQ:based polymer solar cells, when the blend of copolymer with butoxy-substituted TQ and [6,6]phenyl-C-71-butyric acid methyl ester was used as an active layer material in bulk heterojunction solar cells.N
Analisis Eskalasi Konflik Siprus Berdasarkan Manajemen Konflik Ho-Won Jeong
Abstract: This research utilizes Ho-Won Jeong's conflict management theory to analyze the conflict in Cyprus, focusing on identity and power as key factors. The conflict between Greek and Turkish ethnicities in Cyprus requires a comprehensive approach to understand and manage it. Previous research also highlights the role of NGOs and the UN in conflict resolution efforts in Cyprus. The research method used is qualitative with a library research approach. This study is expected to contribute to a deeper understanding of the conflict in Cyprus and to design effective conflict management strategies.

Nonparametric sharpe ratio function estimation in heteroscedastic regression models via convex optimization
Copyright 2018 by the author(s).We consider maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) of heteroscedastic regression models based on a new parametrization of the likelihood in terms of the Sharpe ratio function, or the ratio of the mean and volatility functions. While with a standard parametrization the MLE problem is not convex and hence hard to solve globally, our parametrization leads to a functional that is jointly convex in the Sharpe ratio and inverse volatility functions. The major difficulty with the resulting infinite-dimensional convex program is the shape constraint on the inverse volatility function. We propose to solve the problem by solving a sequence of finite-dimensional convex programs with increasing dimensions, which can be done globally and efficiently. We demonstrate that, when the goal is to estimate the Sharpe ratio function directly, the finite-sample performance of the proposed estimation method is superior to existing methods that estimate the mean and variance functions separately. When applied to a financial dataset, our method captures a well-known covariate-dependent effect on the Shape ratio.N
