    No full text
11th Psalm from the Arabic version by Hafs B. Albar al-Quti shows the use of another base-text which is different from the three texts which have been suggested up till now. Furthermore, the analysis allows us to think that the author could apply the finishing touches to his translation in the light of another texts and commentaries.

Non commutative version of arithmetic geometric mean inequality and crossed product of ternary ring of operators

    No full text
"This thesis is structured into two parts. In the first two chapters, we prove the non commutative version of the Arithmetic Geometric Mean (AGM) inequality (this is a joint work with Mingyue Zhao and Maruis Junge). We start Chapter 2 by giving some background about the partition and M{\""o}bius function. We then prove the two main theorems: The AGM inequality for the norm and for the order. In Chapter 3, we provide some applications from random matrices such as Wishart random matrices, vector-valued moments of convex bodies, and freely independent operators. The second part is about a ternary ring of operators (TRO). After giving a quick survey for the work of Todorov on the operator space version of Zettl's decomposition theorem, we introduce crossed products of ternary ring of operators (the full crossed product and the reduced crossed product). We also prove that VαVGV\rtimes_{\alpha^{V}}G as the off-diagonal corner of the CC^*-algebra A(V)αA(V)GA(V)\rtimes_{\alpha^{A(V)}}G. Equivalently, we have the *-isomorphism between the two linking CC^*-algebras, i.e. A(VαVG)=A(V)αA(V)G.A(V\rtimes_{\alpha^{V}}G)=A(V)\rtimes_{\alpha^{A(V)}}G. By using this identity, we obtain that if the group GG is amenable, some local properties for TRO's preserve with the crossed product. We also provide a counter example which shows that if the linking CC^*-algebras A(V)A(V) and A(W)A(W) are *-isomorphic or if their diagonal components are *-isomorphic, then their TRO's are not isomorphic. Similar example will be applied for WW^*-TRO's."Submission published under a 24 month embargo labeled 'U of I Access', the embargo will last until 2019-08-01The student, Wafaa Albar, accepted the attached license on 2017-07-10 at 13:21.The student, Wafaa Albar, submitted this Dissertation for approval on 2017-07-10 at 14:12.This Dissertation was approved for publication on 2017-07-11 at 09:23.DSpace SAF Submission Ingestion Package generated from Vireo submission #11369 on 2017-09-29 at 10:46:52Made available in DSpace on 2017-09-29T17:45:09Z (GMT). fairly high prevalence in the world population which is a leading source of disability for public health. Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) has been widely accepted as a definitive therapy for cases of knee OA that have failed nonoperative therapy. Posterior Tibial Slope (PTS) is a crucial factor influencing anteroposterior stability, range of motion, tension on knee ligaments, and the balance of flexion and extension gaps in knee arthroplasty. There is a potential role for PTS as an indicator of knee joint recovery and TKA success in osteoarthritis patients. Objective: Examining the PTS in post-TKA osteoarthritis patients at H. Adam Malik Hospital, Medan. Methods: This study used a retrospective cohort approach on OA patients who underwent TKA surgery at H. Adam Malik General Hospital, Medan in September 2021 – October 2022. All data in this research was taken from the patient's medical records. In subjects who met the inclusion criteria, visual analog scale (VAS), range of motion, and PTS were examined before and after the TKA procedure. The data obtained was analyzed statistically. Results: There are differences in PTS and pre and post TKA surgical outcomes in genu osteoarthritis patients at H. Adam Malik General Hospital Medan, with PTS namely t = 6.872 > t table = 1.689 and p = 0.000 < 0.05, flexion outcome namely t = - 4.794 > t table = 1.689 and p = 0.000 t table = 1.689 and p = 0.000 t table = 1.689 and p = 0.000 < 0.05. Conclusion: After performing TKA in OA patients, there is an improvement in PTS, flexion outcome, extension, and VAS.92 PagesTesis Magiste

Segmentation Method for Face Modelling in Thermal Images

    No full text
Face detection is mostly applied in RGB images. The object detection usually applied the Deep Learning method for model creation. One method face spoofing is by using a thermal camera. The famous object detection methods are Yolo, Fast RCNN, Faster RCNN, SSD, and Mask RCNN. We proposed a segmentation Mask RCNN method to create a face model from thermal images. This model was able to locate the face area in images. The dataset was established using 1600 images. The images were created from direct capturing and collecting from the online dataset. The Mask RCNN was configured to train with 5 epochs and 131 iterations. The final model predicted and located the face correctly using the test image

Consumer Protection Against the Widespread Sales of Counterfeit Brand Clothing

    No full text
Sales of counterfeit brand clothing are increasing rapidly in the global market, resulting in huge losses for genuine brands and consumers. In this context, the Consumer Protection Law Number 8 of 1999, protecting consumers is very important to prevent brands from purchasing potentially dangerous and fraudulent imitation clothing. The author conducted research using a type of normative legal research that can be observed in everyday life. The type of research used is descriptive and describes the circumstances in which many cases of selling counterfeit branded products occur. The data source used is a secondary data source originating from research materials. The sample used in this article is the radon sampling technique because the regulations in the Consumer Protection Law still do not have specific regulations regarding consumer protection and legal sanctions are not explained against business actors who sell goods with fake brands against consumers who sell goods. fake It is clear that consumers who buy goods using trademarks without the permission of the trademark owner are violating their rights. Trademarks and Indications in Law no. 20 of 2016. Regarding the online sale of fake branded goods, this is expressly stated in Article 8 letter (f) of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. The advice in distinguishing fake goods is to know the difference between which brands are genuine and which brands are fake.
