The clock skew scheduling problem in chip design is, given a directed graph G with edge delays d:E(G)-> R,
find a minimum cycle time T and arrival times (a schedule) a: V(G) -> R such that
a(v) + d(v,w) <= a(w) + T for all (v,w) in E(G).
G is called a latch graph. The nodes represent latches and registers, and the edges represent the longest signal paths between registers.
The problem of minimizing T is equivalent to maximizing the worst slack min{s(v,w) := a(w) + T - a(v) - d(v,w) | (v,w) in E(G)} for a fixed cycle time T.
The instances provided in the tar file below consist of directed graphs with edge costs c(v,w) = T - d(v,w),
i.e. edge slacks w.r.t. a zero-skew schedule where a = 0.
The maximum achievable worst slack by varying the schedule 'a' equals the value of a minimum mean cycle in (G,c).
Instance sizes range from 70346 nodes and 898220 edges to 1065274 nodes and 104340248 edges.
Other instances are very dense, e.g. 5361 nodes and 4169878 edges.
Note that the instances may not be strongly connected or even connected.

No full textThe author shares his reflections on state of art in housing and urban planning, deficiencies, expectations and possibilities in the Sahel region of Africa. He notices, that the housing problem in Africa is one of the challenges, which should be solved in order to recover life dignity of African people and secure their rights to traditional family life in acceptable conditions. The paper describes the studies on the typical dispersed urban structures and the need to foster this type of settlement structure and proposals of introduction of new on light steel frame housing system in the area of Sahel, combining the traditional way of building houses with modern technology. The particularly analysed case, is the housing problem in the Republic of Chad. The author presents the basic discussion on this topic and his architectural proposals. Unfortunately, the gap between the needs and the financial feasibility of housing construction in this area, makes this project already at the starting point extremely difficult to be realized without external subventions.Problem mieszkaniowy w Afryce jest jednym z wyzwań, które należy rozwiązać, aby Afrykanie mogli odzyskać godność życiową i zabezpieczyć swoje prawa do tradycyjnego życia rodzinnego w akceptowalnych warunkach. W artykule opisano badania nad typowymi rozproszonymi strukturami miejskimi i potrzebą wspierania tego typu struktur osadniczych oraz propozycji wprowadzenia nowego systemu konstrukcji domów, opartym na lekkim szkielecie stalowym, łączącym tradycyjny sposób budowania domów z nowoczesną technologią. Przypadkiem szczególnie analizowanym jest problem mieszkaniowy w Republice Czadu. Autor przedstawia podstawową dyskusję na ten temat i swoje propozycje architektoniczne. Niestety luka między potrzebami mieszkaniowymi w Czadzie a finansową wykonalnością budownictwa mieszkaniowego w tym obszarze sprawia, że projekt ten, już w punkcie wyjścia, jest niezwykle trudny do realizacji bez uzyskania zewnętrznych dotacji

No full textThe objective of the study was to indicate top breeds of horses attending show jumping in the national and international competitions held in Poland recently as well as the analysis of the scores obtained by horses in these competitions, considering the animals’ age and sex. The studies involved 901 horses. A total of 5656 start in national competitions and 1047 in international ones. A high percentage of foreign bred horses (44%) was found which is the evidence that the Polish breeding, especially of the Wielkopolski and Małopolski breeds, does not meet the needs of sport horse users. Horses under 10 years of age were shown to fault statistically significantly less in the national competitions than the older animals. Supremacy of the Hanoverian, Holsteiner horse breeds and the horses registered in KWPN was established over the Polish breeds, taking into account the mean number of faults incurred in the international competitions. As foreign riders dominated the international competitions held in Poland, it is imperative that horse breeding in Poland should be improved just like the training of Polish competitors.Celem pracy była próba określenia, które rasy koni odgrywają wiodącą rolę w ostatnich latach w dyscyplinie skoków przez przeszkody w zawodach krajowych i międzynarodowych rozgrywanych w Polsce, a także analiza wyników tych zawodów z uwzględnieniem wieku i płci koni. Badaniami objęto 901 koni, łącznie przeanalizowano 5656 startów w zawodach krajowych oraz 1047 w międzynarodowych. Stwierdzono występowanie znacznego odsetka koni z hodowli zagranicznej (44 %), który świadczy o tym, że krajowa hodowla, szczególnie ras wielkopolskiej i małopolskiej, nie zaspokaja potrzeb użytkowników koni sportowych. Ustalono, że konie w wieku do 10 lat popełniały statystycznie istotnie mniej błędów w konkursach krajowych aniżeli osobniki starsze. Określono supremację ras hanowerskiej, holsztyńskiej i koni zapisanych do księgi KWPN nad krajowymi rasami w zakresie średniej liczby błędów popełnianych w konkursach międzynarodowych. Stwierdzono, że w zawodach międzynarodowych rozgrywanych w Polsce dominowali jeźdźcy zagraniczni, co może dowodzić konieczności poprawy nie tylko jakości hodowli koni w Polsce, ale także wyszkolenia rodzimych jeźdźców

Autor wykorzystał nowe zasoby Archiwum Niemieckiego Liberalizmu w Gummersbach, co umożliwiło przedstawienie nowej oceny wpływu FDP na politykę wschodnią Republiki Federalnej Niemiec.The main goal of the article is to analyze the FDP's program activities in the eastern policy of the Federal Republic of Germany in the years 1949-1969. Of great importance here is the fact that the author used in this work new archives from the Archives of German Liberalism in Gummersbach. This enabled him to present a new assessment of the FDP's impact on the eastern policy of the Federal Republic of Germany
