Sixty Years of Community: St. Olaf Catholic Parish in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, 1952-2012
This paper will explore how the parish community of St. Olaf in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, established in 1952, reflects the Roman Catholic Church, specifically at the local, state, and national levels in the United States. It will also discuss the various changes that have occurred in the past 60 years of its history in terms of the various locations of worship for the members, the growth of the community outreach programs, and the effects of the Second Vatican Council. This ecumenical council was a meeting of Catholic bishops from around the whole that brought reform to the Catholic Church and affected the relationship of the Catholic Church to the world. The parish at St. Olaf has grown from having only 125 families in 1952 to over 1,000 families in 2012
Validation of a CT image based software for three-dimensional measurement of acetabular cup orientation
The purpose of our study was to develop a simple and reproducible method for calculating post-operative acetabular cup position based upon computed tomographic images. Next, we sought to examine the reliability, objectivity and accuracy of this method. We developed a 3D CT evaluation software based upon Amira(R) (data visualisation, analysis and modelling software) to calculate the abduction and anteversion of the acetabular cup relative to the APP (anterior pelvic plane). To test the accuracy of the method, we constructed a special phantom pelvic model as the gold standard, in which the acetabulum was mounted at various abduction and anteversion angles that had previously been measured digitally. This phantom was then CT scanned in 12 different cup positions (30 degrees to 50 degrees abduction, 0 degrees to 30 degrees anteversion) and then evaluated using the 3D CT evaluation software. In addition, we also examined the reliability and objectivity of this method in 10 patients following implantation of a hip prosthesis, as a clinical trial. We observed an average accuracy of the 3D CT evaluation software of -0.3 degrees (range -1.4 degrees to 1.3 degrees ; SD 0.6 degrees ) for abduction and 0.2 degrees (range -1.4 degrees to 1.4 degrees ; SD 0.6 degrees ) for anteversion compared with the gold standard. Moreover, a high intra -and interindividual agreement in the resulting ICC well above 0.8 for abduction and abduction values in the phantom study and the clinical trial were observed. This study found that the 3D CT evaluation software provides high reliability, objectivity and accuracy. Thus, the 3D CT software is a method that permits very precise evaluation of the post-operative cup position independent of patient positioning or pelvic til
Ultrasound-based computer navigation of the acetabular component: a feasibility study
This feasibility study investigated the accuracy of anterior pelvic reference plane (APP) registration and acetabular cup orientation in two cadavers with different BMIs. Method Five observers each registered the APP five times in the 2 cadavers (BMIs: 32 kg/m² and 25 kg/m²) using an ultrasound-based navigation system. By comparison against the CT-derived reference landmarks, the errors in determining the individual landmarks defining the APP, as well as the resulting errors in the orientation of the APP and the acetabular cup orientation were determined. Results Across all measurements obtained with the ultrasound navigation system, the errors in rotation and version in determining the APP were 0.5° ± 1.0° and ?0.4° ± 2.0°, respectively. The cup abduction and anteversion errors determined from all measurements of the five investigators for both cadavers together were ?0.1° ± 1.0° and ?0.4° ± 2.7°, respectively. The data further demonstrated a high reproducibility of the measurements for the resulting cup adduction and anteversion angle. Conclusion Our preliminary results confirm that ultrasound navigation is a highly accurate tool that allows a reproducible registration of the APP and thereby enables accurate and precise intraoperative determination of the acetabular cup orientation also in patients with increased BMI
Northern Rover: The Life Story of Olaf Hanson
From 1919 to 1970, Olaf Hanson was a trapper, fur trader, prospector, game guardian, fisherman, and road blasting expert in northeastern Saskatchewan. He told his life story to popular Saskatchewan author A. L. Karras, who wrote this historical memoir in the 1980s. In an uncompromising, straightforward style, Karras and Hanson reveal the geography, wildlife, natural history of the region as well as the business and social interactions between people. Their book offers a look at the vanished subsistence and commercial economy of the boreal forest, wound around a fascinating personal story of courage and physical stamina

Analysing the performance of the OLAF framework in the context of identifying music in movies
This paper presents the findings of a benchmark performed on the audio fingerprinting framework OLAF in the context of movie music. The goal is to find a music identification framework suitable for automatically identifying a song from a movie clip. This research aims to find how well OLAF performs in this context with regard to the criteria determined in the benchmark and to see if the performance can be increased. The OLAF framework makes use of parameters, which are individually tweaked and benchmarked with synthesised data. These findings are then combined to find a set of parameters that is used to perform this same benchmark on real clips from movies. The found parameter setup slightly increased the performance, going from 1 true positive and 133 false negatives in the original setup to 5 true positives, 3 false positives and 126 false negatives.CSE3000 Research ProjectComputer Science and Engineerin
Erwin Olaf is an author dedicated to photography, videos and advertising. Through a study of this controversial photographer, we can know his life, work and technique.
This work, which includes a brief introduction to his work through his biography and artistic development, focuses mainly on the analysis of their personal series within the wide range of projects that the author carried out, and in relation to such series, will detail other important technical elements such as lighting, composition, poses, the importance of color or Photoshop and significance of the series itself, which have much to do with the experiences of Olaf.

The location of OLAF in the multi-level governance system
W badaniach wykorzystano dwa narzędzia teoretyczno-metodologiczne: Principal/Agent
Theory oraz Principal/Supervisor/Agent Theory. The author of the study aims to investigate the location of OLAF in the multi-level governance
system (MLG) of the European Union with specific interinstitutional consequences of
such location, assuming that OLAF is not a classical supranational institution. If OLAF as an
agent and supervisor has control powers over supranational institutions, including its principal,
a supranational European Commission, it is unlikely that it would also be a supranational institution.
Two theoretical and methodological tools were used in this research: Principal/Agent Theory

The German Copyright Law grants an absolute right to authors, i.e., any use of protected works requires the author's prior consent. This concept is known as opt-in. In this doctoral thesis the author examines five models which turn this concept upside down as they provide for the permission for certain beneficiaries to use protected works without the author's prior consent until the author objects to such use. This concept is known as opt-out. Also, the examined models contain elements of collectivization and, in particular, involve collecting societies. The author examines and compares these models and answers the question whether the underlying opt-out concept together with collectivization may be generalized so that it could replace opt-in
