    The Fana\u27 Concept of Abu Yazid al-Busthomi and Imam Junaid al-Baghdadi (Comparative Study)

    The concept of fana is a concept that developed in the third and fourth centuries hijriyah. A concept of fusion (trance) which later became an experience desired by many Sufism retainers. A Sufistic experience that must be passed and deliver Sufis at the top of the world of Sufism. with the experience that each Sufi feels so that many bring up various differences between one and another, then it also becomes a phenomenon for the fuqoha\u27. Abu Yazid al-Busthomi and Imam Junaid al-Baghdadi were one of the pioneers of the concept of Fana’. With a distinctly different background, between Sufi philosophy and Sunni. So the author takes the initiative and aims to combine the views between the two by examining a character who is balanced against and a character who has many adherents to this day, in order to get a good understanding and similarities or differences in the concept of Fana’\u27. This research uses library research, by means of qualitative analysis. As well as using primary and secondary sources. The results of this study are the concept of Fana’ must be together with the concept of Baqo’, awareness of a person\u27s individuality has disappeared even though his physical form is still there. And to reach the peak of Fana’, the Salikin must leave the nature, character and personality as humans

    Analisis tahapan spiritual Abū al-Naṣr al-Sarrāj al-Ṭūsī dan Saint Teresa sebagai terapi penyakit kejiwaan

    Penelitian ini menganalisis tahapan spiritual yang dikemukakan oleh Abū al-Naṣr al-Sarrāj al-Ṭūsī dalam tradisi tasawuf Islam dan St. Teresa dari Ávila dalam mistisisme Kristen, serta relevansinya sebagai terapi penyakit kejiwaan. Penelitian ini berangkat dari tiga rumusan masalah utama: pertama, mengidentifikasi maqāmāt rohaniah (tahapan spiritual) al-Sarrāj al-Ṭūsī dan tahapan spiritual St. Teresa; kedua, menjelaskan kedua konsep tersebut dalam konteks psikoterapi tasawuf dan psikoterapi mistik Kristen; ketiga, mengeksplorasi potensi tahapan spiritual ini sebagai formula terapi kejiwaan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan analisis deskriptif-komparatif terhadap karya utama al-Lumaʿ fī al-Taṣawwuf karya al-Sarrāj al-Ṭūsī dan The Interior Castle or The Mansions karya St. Teresa. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa tahapan spiritual al-Sarrāj, yang meliputi tahapan seperti tobat, warak, zuhud, fakir, sabar, tawakkal, dan rido, memiliki kesamaan konseptual dengan tujuh ‘kediaman rohani’ dalam The Interior Castle or The Mansions, yang mencerminkan perjalanan jiwa menuju persatuan dengan Tuhan. Dalam konteks psikoterapi, kedua konsep ini menawarkan pendekatan holistik yang mengintegrasikan aspek spiritual dan psikologis untuk menyembuhkan gangguan kejiwaan, seperti kecemasan dan depresi. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tahapan spiritual al-Sarrāj al-Ṭūsī dan St. Teresa dapat menjadi inspirasi untuk pengembangan terapi berbasis nilai-nilai spiritual lintas agama. Pendekatan ini tidak hanya menawarkan solusi psikoterapi yang unik tetapi juga menegaskan pentingnya dimensi spiritual dalam proses penyembuhan kejiwaan

    Appeared for the first time in 1965 in the monumental work of Reza Arasteh, Sufi spiritual approaches and methods in psychotherapy have to wait for Muslim scholars attention in the 21st century. To our concern, up to now only few studies which dive in the ocean of Sufi doctrinal aspects of psychotherapy: most of them still swim at the upper level trying to estimate the possible relationship between Sufi spiritual practices and methods of psychotherapy. However, to our surprise, none of these few studies that focus on the Sufi spiritual maqÄmÄt, the well-known meticulous step-by-step guidance for those who want to master their soul and mental states. In the absence of this, the present article attempts to explore the maqÄmÄt discussed by AbÅ« al-Naá¹£r al-SarrÄj al-ṬūsÄ« in his famous al-Luma‘ in light of psychotherapy. At the end this article finds that these Sufi maqÄmÄt are not only means for spiritual purification, i.e., soul and mental well-being, but also al-SarrÄj’s model of Sufistic psychotherapeutic outline method

    INDONESIA:: Muncul kali pertama pada tahun 1965 dalam karya monumental Reza Arasteh, pendekatan dan metode spiritual sufi dalam psikoterapi harus menunggu lama, hingga ke abad 21, untuk mendapat perhatian dari para sarjana Muslim. Sampai sekarang sangat sedikit kajian yang menyelami samudera doktrin tasawuf yang terkait dengan aspek-aspek psikoterapi: sebagian besar masih berenang di permukaan sambil berusaha memperkirakan kemungkinan adanya hubungan antara praktik spiritual sufi dan metode psikoterapi. Namun demikian, tidak satupun dari kajian-kajian tersebut yang memperhatikan makam-makam spiritual tasawuf, yang berisi petunjuk detil bagi yang berminat menguasai keadaan jiwa dan mentalnya. Dalam kekosongan ini, tulisan ini bermaksud menggali makam-makam spiritual yang dibicarakan oleh Abū Naṣr al-Sarrāj al-Ṭūsī dalam karyanya yang terkenal, al-Luma‘, dalam bingkai psikoterapi. Pada akhirnya, tulisan ini mendapati bahwa makam-makam sufi tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai cara untuk memperoleh kesucian ruhaniah, yaitu kesehatan jiwa dan mental, melainkan juga berisi garis-garis besar metode tasawuf psikoterapi ala al-Sarrāj.     Barzakh and the Imaginal Realm: A Phenomenology of Postmortem Experience in Sufism

    This study examines the phenomenology of barzakh in the corpus of classical Sufism as a model of liminal postmortem experience and analyzes its implications for afterlife concepts in other religious traditions. The aim of this research is to explain how Sufi thinkers—particularly Ibn ‘Arabi, Suhrawardī, and al-Jīlī—understand barzakh not as a static space of waiting but as an imaginal realm with its own ontological structure, experienced through the imaginal consciousness of the human being. Employing a qualitative design grounded in narrative-phenomenological analysis, this study conducts an in-depth textual examination of Sufi works and interprets their imaginal narratives as manifestations of transformative consciousness. The findings reveal three main points. First, barzakh is conceived as an ontological imaginal reality in which the subtle body, liminal space, and postmortem forms manifest through al-khayāl al-muttaṣil as the medium of the soul’s experience. Second, barzakh functions as a moral mirror in which one’s deeds, intentions, and inner states become objectified into imaginal landscapes directly encountered by the soul, thereby dynamically shaping its postmortem existential environment. Third, the comparative analysis demonstrates structural parallels between the phenomenology of barzakh and intermediate-realm concepts in non-Islamic traditions—such as Bardo Thodol in Tibetan Buddhism and Olam Ha-Ba in Judaism—which similarly exhibit liminal experiential patterns involving transformations of consciousness, the subtle body, guidance by transcendent entities, and reflective imaginal spaces. This study contributes to the expansion of esoteric Sufi studies by employing a phenomenological approach that interprets barzakh as a structure of experience rather than merely a theological doctrine. Moreover, it offers a new hermeneutical framework for interreligious dialogue by highlighting shared patterns of transitional consciousness across afterlife traditions. The originality of this research lies in its integration of phenomenological analysis with comparative afterlife studies, demonstrating barzakh as a universal archetype of transformative human experience

    The practice of Sufism in today\u27s society and what the prophet Muhammad did is often conceptual and practical differences. Sufism, which is the sum-sum of Islam, is often the target of attacks on the wrong practices of Sufism that occur today or for ignorance of good and true Sufism. This article tries to describe the life of Sufism, practice, and the spiritual condition of the Prophet Muhammad. In the scientific field and religious side, this will be traced in terms of Sufism practices carried out by the prophet Muhammad found in the hadiths and books. This journal was analyzed using qualitative methods of literature study. Related primary and secondary sources will be categorized which will be presented in the form of research results. Various sources that the author can reveal that the life of the prophet Muhammad was filled with Sufistic instruments, and a lifestyle like this is an ideal lifestyle. It can be concluded that this pattern of life is at the same time a treasure and \u27ibrah for the Sufi life, so it can be said that the Messenger of Allah has laid the spiritual foundations for his followers throughout the ages

    Takhrij Hadith the Obligation of Dutiful Children to Parents

    The purpose of this study is to discuss the hadith about filial piety to parents. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive-analytical method. The formal object of this research is the takhrij hadith within the scope of hadith science, while the material object is the hadith about filial piety to parents. The results and discussion of this study indicate that the Hadith of Imam Muslim History No. 123 concerning filial piety to parents with valid quality. This study concludes that the hadith is maqbul ma\u27mul bih as the basis of Islam in the teachings of the obligation to serve parents

    Strategi Publikasi Karya Ilmiah Pada Jurnal Internasional Dalam Bidang Hukum Keluarga Islam

    Scientific publication is a crucial stage in scholarly development, particularly in the field of Islamic family law. This article aims to analyze strategies for publishing scientific works in the context of Islamic family law research in international journals. The methodology used is descriptive qualitative through literature study with content analysis of scientific publication guidelines and policy documents from various international publishers. Research findings indicate that successful international publication in Islamic family law requires a systematic approach encompassing innovative topic selection, structured methodology implementation, utilization of interdisciplinary perspectives, and understanding the editorial process of target journals. Key challenges include language barriers, differences in academic traditions, and limited access to global research networks. Recommended strategies include international collaboration, research capacity development, and integration of Islamic values with contemporary approaches. This research contributes as a practical guide for Islamic family law academics in enhancing the visibility of their scientific work on a global scale. Metodologi yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif melalui studi pustaka dengan analisis konten terhadap pedoman publikasi ilmiah dan dokumen kebijakan dari berbagai penerbit internasional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keberhasilan publikasi internasional dalam bidang hukum keluarga Islam memerlukan pendekatan sistematis yang mencakup pemilihan topik inovatif, penerapan metodologi yang terstruktur, penggunaan perspektif interdisipliner, serta memahami proses editorial jurnal target. Tantangan utama meliputi kendala bahasa, perbedaan tradisi akademik, dan akses terbatas pada jaringan penelitian global. Strategi yang direkomendasikan mencakup kolaborasi internasional, pengembangankapasitas penelitian, dan integrasi nilai-nilai Islam dengan pendekatan kontemporer.     The aim of this paper is not to close the dots through the imposition of a single understanding. The author simply wants to highlight significant points of ‘contestation’ in the way we understand or even blur the boundaries between the religious and the political. This research uses a qualitative method that is based on a literature study. We conclude that there are multiple and sometimes competing understandings of terms such as religion, secularism, secularisation and post-secular that shape and are shaped by discussions about the relationship between religion, politics and public life. For future researchers, we suggest exploring the correlation between religion, politics and the public sphere more specifically in order to create a paradigm that does not corner one another so that there is no overlap in understanding these three elements
