Near-capacity iterative decoding of binary self-concatenated codes using soft decision demapping and 3-D EXIT charts
In this paper 3-D Extrinsic Information Transfer (EXIT) charts are used to design binary Self-Concatenated Convolutional Codes employing Iterative Decoding (SECCC-ID), exchanging extrinsic information with the soft-decision demapper to approach the channel capacity. Recursive Systematic Convolutional (RSC) codes are selected as constituent codes, an interleaver is used for randomising the extrinsic information exchange of the constituent codes, while a puncturer helps to increase the achievable bandwidth efficiency. The convergence behaviour of the decoder is analysed with the aid of bit-based 3-D EXIT charts, for accurately calculating the operating EbN0 threshold, especially when SP based soft demapper is employed. Finally, we propose an attractive system configuration, which is capable of operating within about 1 dB from the channel capacity

‐type preinvex functions with applications
In this present paper, we introduce the idea and concept of n-polynomial s-type preinvex functions. We elaborate and investigate the algebraic properties of the newly introduced definition and discuss their connections and relations with convex functions. We find the new sort of Hermite-Hadamard inequality via a newly introduced definition. Furthermore, some refinements of Hermite-Hadamard inequality are given. Finally, we investigated some applications via this newly introduced definition. The results obtained in this paper can be viewed as significant improvement of previously known results.H.E.C. ڈاکٹر خواجہ محمد زکریا کا نظری و فکری ارتقا (مصاحبوں کی روشنی میں)
This article is basing on the book “Dr. Khwaja Muhammad Zakariya: Afkar o Guftar”. It caters scores of interviews of Dr Khawaja Muhammad Zakariya. Starting from a convincing parable of an unstructured telephonic interview which the author himself took over a span of couple of weeks, many an interview hold Dr Khawaja’s talk amp; reflections on variety of topics including his family amp; personality, tradition of poetry amp; poetics, history of Urdu literature, linguistics, linguistic research in Urdu, teaching of Urdu to the foreigners/non-native speakers, language policy, language politics, implementation of Urdu as state/official language, implementation of Punjabi as the provincial language, university amp; students’ politics, power politics, and the like. As this book contains interviews that were taken in almost half a century, Dr Khawaja’s varying literary thoughts, notions and theories can be well judged through the lens of this very lexis. Challenges in the management of glaucoma in developing countries
AbstractGlaucoma is the most common optic neuropathy characterized by normal to raised intraocular pressure (IOP), visual field defects, loss of retinal nerve fiber layer, thinning of the neuroretinal rim, and cupping of the optic disc. IOP reduction by medical, laser, or surgical therapies remains the only clinically proven treatment of glaucoma. The challenges in glaucoma management are diverse. They include early detection and diagnosis, setting of appropriate target IOP, choice of treatment, monitoring of quality of life and sight, and compliance with the treatment. Early diagnosis can be made by assessing optic nerve structure using imaging devices and optic nerve function through perimetry. Reducing IOP and controlling its fluctuations are considered to be the most important factors in limiting progression of glaucoma. Selection of the best suitable therapy out of medical, surgical, or laser treatment options is yet another management challenge. Patients suffering from glaucoma experience poor quality of life owing to the diagnosis itself, functional visual loss, inconvenience and cost of treatment, and side effects of treatment. All these factors lead to poor compliance, adherence, and persistence to treatment, and further progression of the disease. It is, therefore, important that ophthalmologists keep all the aforementioned factors in mind when managing patients with glaucoma

He is one of the major authors who contributed towards Urdu linguistics, postmodern theory and stylistics. According to Mr. Baig, the beginning of Khadi Boli is the actual beginning of Urdu and the linguistic theory regarding the beginning and evolution of Urdu presented by Dr. Masud Husain Khan is the most acceptable theory in the history of Urdu language. His thoughts reflect the sociolinguistic and psycholinguistic perspectives of Hindi and Urdu. He is one of the leading figures in the field of Urdu linguistics whose approach is purely scientific and his research and analysis is based on the principles of modern linguistics. Zaban, Usloob aur Usloobiyat, Urdu ki Lisani Tashkeel, Tanqeed aur Usloobiyati Tanqeed, Ek Bhasha Jo Mustarad Kar Di Gai, Masud Husain Khan: Ahwal-o-Asar and Lisani Masail-o-Mubahis are some of his marvelous books on latest issues and debates in Urdu liguistics.
Iatrogenic Pneumoperitoneum Following Peritoneal Dialysis in A Neonate with Methylmalonic Acidemia: A Rare Case Report
This is a case of a neonate who was brought to the hospital at 46 hours of life with symptoms of fatigue, difficulty breathing and hypoglycemia for the past 6 hours. His septic workup was normal; however, labs were consistent with high anion gap metabolic acidosis, hyperammonemia, and urine positive for methylmalonic acid. Due to persistent encephalopathy and high ammonia levels, he was intubated, and peritoneal dialysis (PD) was started. On day 3 of PD drain placement, the baby developed abdominal distension. Abdominal x-ray showed a football sign indicative of pneumoperitoneum. Tube feeding was started with special formula milk. The neonate improved clinically and was discharged at the 11th day of life.
