Sultan Abdul Hamid II bertemu Habib Abd al-Rahman?
The Approach of Imam Abdul Hamid ibn Badis to Sufi Methods
This research is about Shaikh Abdul Hamid ibn Badis, the president of the Algerian Association of Muslim Scholars, who led the reformist movement during the French occupation and was one of the leaders of reformation in the Muslim world. The research aims to reveal how the Shaikh dealt with the reality of Sufism and its spiritual authority and broad influence embedded in Algerian society. The author addresses issues within Algerian society during the French occupation, the position of the Shaikh as a man of satire in general, and his relationship with the elders’ zawaya of Sufi methods. The research concludes that the Shaikh followed a middle ground in his dealings. He was clear in his opinions and convictions and expressed them through his writings and articles, while he had good connections with all the elders’ methods. His approach was not to differentiate but to assemble and remove the differences that weakened the society’s resistance towards the French occupation. As the Imam had been wise and advocative, he knew how to win the hearts and attitudes of his society.[Tulisan ini membahas Syaikh Abdul Hamid ibn Badis, Pemimpin Asosiasi Ulama Muslim Aljazair, yang memimpin gerakan reformis pada masa pendudukan Perancis dan merupakan salah satu pemimpin reformasi di dunia Muslim.
Tafsir Basis Surat Perspective Abdul Hamid Al-Farahi: A Study Of The Concept Of Nazm And Its Application In The Interpretation Of Surah Al-Mursalat
Abdul Hamid al-Farahi is one of the Indian Muslim scholars who uses the interpretation of the letter based on the concept of nazm. Surah-based interpretation is interpretation that works on the letter of the Qur'an as a unified whole and has a unified theme (the sura as a unity). In this article, the author tries to explain the concept of nazm initiated by al-Farahi and how this concept is applied in the interpretation of the letter Al-Mursalat. The author uses qualitative research methods with data collection techniques through literature review. This paper shows that al-Farahi's nazm concept is a further development of the munasabah approach. Al-Farahi's concept of nazm emphasizes that each surah has an 'amud surah (central theme). 'Amud functions as a control over the resulting interpretation to build a unified letter. The application of the concept of nazm al-Farahi can be seen from his interpretation of the al-Mursalat letter. Al-Farahi stated that the 'amud of the letter revolves around warnings about the Day of Judgment, obedience to Allah, and doing good among fellow creatures. Thus, every interpretation of the verses in Surah Al-Mursalat must refer to the 'Amud of the Surah
Karakteristik Rasm dalam Manuskrip Mushḥaf Al-Qur’an KH. Abdul Hamid Chasbullah
One of the Qur'an manuscripts from the 20th century is the written version (mushḥaf) KH. Abdul Hamid Chasbullah. The mushḥaf is evidence of the historical heritage of the ulama of Nusantara who have special attention in the field of copying the Qur'an manuscripts. In this study, the author will examine the general description of the mushḥaf and the characteristics of the rasm by referring to the rules of Sheikh Jalal Al-din Al-Suyuthi in the book Al-Itqan fi Ulum Qur'an. The method that the author uses is qualitative research that leads to library research, by using observation tools, interviews, and documentation of the manuscript. The findings of this study are first, this mushḥaf is kept intact (not scattered) although some sheets have been lost and eaten by termites. This 32.3 x 21 x 7.5(cm) mushḥaf was written for the personal use of the copyist. It can be seen that there aren’t illustration and illumination aspects. Second, from the analysis of surah Al-Baqarah juz 2, the copying of this mushḥaf still adheres to the basics of mixed rules between the rasm utsmani and imla'i. Likewise, in terms of qira'at, this mushḥaf mostly uses the history of Imam Hafs 'an Ashim, but some words use mixed history

Intellectual property laws and Islam in Malaysia.
PhDThis study is undertaken on the premise that Islam and Islamic law is to be taken into
serious consideration in any future legislative reform of laws in Malaysia. Islam being
the religion of the country and the strong religious sentiment of the Muslims (who
form the majority in Malaysia) cannot be overlooked or dismissed lightly by the
legislators in Malaysia. Reformation of intellectual property laws is timely, as we are
now approaching to the dateline set by GATF-Trips agreement which aim is to
improve our standard of intellectual property protection. This study seeks to analyze
and evaluate the current legislation pertaining to intellectual property in Malaysia in
terms of the philosophy and rules governing the existence, ownership and exercise of
these rights and their consistency and inconsistency with Islam and Islamic law. The
main objective of this study is to prove that a coherent and logical conceptual
framework of ownership of intellectual property can be derived from an Islamic
perspective which not only offers the basis of rights but also defines the scope of
these rights. From the point of ownership of rights, support can be obtained from the
normative framework of property rights within the traditional classification of 'mal'
(property) and 'haqq al-milkiyyah' (ownership rights) under Islamic law. From the
point of exercise of rights, the exact scope can be defined from the analysis of
fundamental concepts which have been developed by Muslim jurists. It has been
established that Islam and Islamic law offers a sound and systematic paradigm, which
in deeper analysis, can satisfy both our current obligations under international
treatises, as well as our responsibility to practise our religion to the fullest

Ewline"> This article studies hadiths used in Majlisuzzikr led by Habib Abdul Hamid al-Mahdaly in Brunei Darussalam context. The object of this research islimited by investigating the recording video of the lectures on Bulūg alMarām, composed by Ibn ajar al-‘Asqalānī, that can be downloaded fromcyberspace, you tube. However, the study of hadith there has a close relationwith the government that put into effect the Islamic law (syariat). Theexistence of hadith study in this Majlis apparently is inclined to supportthe government of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. According to the Alfatihmapping of explanation (pensyarh} an), this hadith study can be classifidto the category of classical explanation with bayani reasoning. CONTEMPORARY SHARI'AH STRUCTURING FOR THE DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT OF WAQF ASSETS IN SINGAPORE
The institution of waqf proves to bring about social, economic and religious benefit to mankind. It is a vehicle for financing society as a whole (Hodgson, 1974). However, of late there has been a pervasive underdevelopment of waqf assets in the world (Kahf, 1998; Kuran, 2004). One of the reasons cited by Kuran for this underdevelopment is the issue of perpetuity and the inalienability inherent in the features of waqf ( 2004). The other reason, as cited by Kahf and Cizakca (2000; 1998) is the issue of mismanagement and the nationalisation of waqf . However a plethora of reasons can be advanced for the underdevelopment of waqf which includes the entire administration, management, financing and development of waqf.
This research therefore aims at indentifying factors needed for the contemporary shari’ah compliant structuring of waqf assets in Singapore and how this can be achieved. The factors and gaps that have been identified include legal, financing, management structure, perception of stakeholders and the shari’ah issues in managing the waqf assets which form the largest group of assets managed by the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (Muis).
The research utilised the semi-structured interview of the various stakeholders and expert opinion relating to waqf. In addition, secondary sources from the case study analysis of Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (Muis) provide an important and useful insight in understanding the management of waqf in Singapore. The study revealed some interesting findings such as the attitudes towards and the perception of non-shari’ah compliant activities carried out in waqf management, the possibilities of the various instruments that can be used to develop waqf assets and the polar shari’ah interpretation of investment and financing of the waqf assets. All issues are presented with real case study in this thesis. The research will then conclude by offering the possible new structuring of waqf assets using the instruments of Real Estate Investment Trust (REITs) and the various policy changes required to move waqf to the next level of its management in order to realise its full potential
The Concept of Land Ownership in Islam and Poverty Alleviation in Pakistan
Land ownership—in its ethico-legal and historical manifestations, reflects the importance of being a politico-economic institution. In the process of its development, it includes various heterogeneous elements of different systems of ownership. With the growth of the Ummah, the principles of laws of ownership represent and embody the relations, rights and duties to form the general law of obligations at the state as well as individual level. This is the case of economic and legal theory, regarding the ownership of land with implicative infrastructure to build social welfare institutions of Islam. It is generally and basically have been ordained that according to the teachings of Islam, Real ownership belongs to Allah Almighty. Man being the vicegerent holds property in trust for which he is accountable to him in accordance with the clearly laid down economic philosophy of Islam. Ownership of man is a concept alien to Islam as it belongs to Allah Almighty only.
