Words Beyond. Fuoripagina, the Gian Paolo Roffi Collection
For many years now, the Bolognese Gian Paolo Roffi has added the collecting to his artistic and poetic activity, relying on the knowledge gained over forty years of participation in the field of visual poetry. The author has constituted a collection of about one hundred and forty pieces of small format, titled Fuoripagina, to underline the attempt to escape from the conventions of the printed page that characterizes the individual works. Starting from the collecting criteria adopted by Roffi, in the present text a partial critical path is traced which intends to highlight ways and strategies of reinvention of the printed page typical of the verbo-visual searches of the second half of the Twentieth Century

The infection can be life threatening and require intensive care treatment. The transmission of the disease poses a risk to both patients and healthcare workers. The number of patients requiring hospital admission and intensive care may overwhelm health systems and negatively affect standard care for patients presenting with conditions needing emergency interventions. This position statements aims to assist cardiologists in the invasive management of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. To that end, we assembled a panel of interventional cardiologists and acute cardiac care specialists appointed by the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI) and from the Acute Cardiovascular Care Association (ACVC) and included the experience from the first and worst affected areas in Europe. Modified diagnostic and treatment algorithms are proposed to adapt evidence-based protocols for this unprecedented challenge. Various clinical scenarios, as well as management algorithms for patients with a diagnosed or suspected COVID-19 infection, presenting with ST- and non-ST-segment elevation ACS are described. In addition, we address the need for re-organization of ACS networks, with redistribution of hub and spoke hospitals, as well as for in-hospital reorganization of emergency rooms and cardiac units, with examples coming from multiple European countries. Furthermore, we provide a guidance to reorganization of catheterization laboratories and, importantly, measures for protection of healthcare providers involved with invasive procedures
Teachers in a Searchable World:Findings from an Introductory Survey
In this manuscript, we discuss the findings from an introductory survey conducted with more than 50 teachers in Italy. We inquired about teachers’ opinions of educational technology used in the classroom, in particular search tools. Qualitative and quantitative data inferred from collected responses provide us with a multifaceted picture of the different roles teachers perform in the classroom when interacting with technology, their preferences, skills, perceptions of the needs for training, in addition to the principles and motivations that guide them. Findings emerging from this survey serve as a foundation for an international study that would allow us to better model teachers’ needs and the barriers they face when using search tools in the classroom.</p
The Effect of the Different Types Plants on the Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) on the Growth Performnace of Carp Seed (Cyprinus carpio)
Intensification of culture through stocking densities and high feeding rates can cause water quality problems. Utilization of the recirculation system in intensive cultivation is important to maintain water quality. This study aims to determine the best type of aquatic plants in RAS for the growth of carp fish seeds. The research in January - February 2021. The test fish used were carp fish with a length of 6 - 7 cm and a weight of 3 - 5 gr. The feed used is commercial feed with a protein content of 31 - 33%. Feeding was carried out at 08.00 A.M and 04.00 P.M with 3% fish biomass. This study used an experimental method with CRD with 4 treatments and 3 replications. Treatment A (Control, without plants), treatment B (cotton fiber, bio balls, activated charcoal and kale), treatment C (cotton fiber, bio balls, activated charcoal and watercress plants) and treatment D (cotton fiber, bio balls, activated charcoal and pakchoy plants). The results showed that the use of different aquatic plants had a significant effect (P <0,05) on SR, SGR, length growth and absolute weight, plant height, and a number of leaves, but no significant effect (P> 0,05) on FCR. The best treatment in this study was B with an SR value of 82,22 ± 7,70%, SGR 4,08 ± 0,14%, absolute length 4,97 ± 0,27 cm, absolute weight 15,81 ± 1,96 gr, plant height 60,67 ± 18,01 cm, number of leaves 20,42 ± 9,66 leaves and FCR 1,10 ± 0,089
In 1960, Bruno Zevi published the book Biagio Rossetti architetto ferrarese. Il primo urbanista moderno europeo. In the 727 page long work, there are 200 survey drawings, some of which refer to the investigated architectures: these are 19 buildings (twelve non-religious and seven religious).
At the end of the publication, Zevi summarizes the events that made the realization of the book possible before the famous exhibition Identità di Biagio Rossetti, inaugurated on June 28 1956 in the Ridotto of the Municipal Theater. Four years later, the imposing book indicated the names of those who collaborated in the initiative. The author quotes prof. Luisa Balboni, mayor of Ferrara, and the assessore BB. AA. Mario Roffi, who in 1955 contacted the then dean of the University Institute of Architecture in Venice, Giuseppe Samonà to celebrate the 440th anniversary of Rossetti's death. Zevi says "[...] the students and I enthusiastically accepted to organize an exhibition: I dedicated my course to the celebrated Ferrara architect, the first-year students surveyed various monuments, while those of the second year carried out documented investigations in a series of papers with the guidance of my assistant Dr Giuseppe Mazzariol."
This paper offers some reflections on the survey's role in Zevy’s work and its outcomes
Introduction, 3 "One More Link in the Chain”: Scribes, Stones, Codices, Libraries
Aims and Scope
This book offers the hint for a new reflection on ancient textual transmission and editorial practices in Antiquity. In the first section, it retraces the first steps of the process of ancient writing and editing. The reader will discover how the book is both a material object and a metaphorical personification, material or immaterial. The second section will focus on corpora of Greek texts, their formation, and their paratextual apparatus. Readers will explore various issues dealing with the mechanisms that are at the basis of the assembling of ancient Greek texts, but great attention will also be given to the role of ancient scholarly work. The third section shows how texts have two levels of authorship: the author of the text, and the scribe who copies the text. The scribe is not a medium, but plays a crucial role in changing the text. This section will focus on the protagonists of some interesting cases of textual transmission, but also on the books they manufactured or kept in the libraries, and on the words they engraved on stones. Therefore, the fresh voices of the contributors of this book, offer new perspectives on established research fields dealing with textual criticism

Sex-specific prediction of cardiogenic shock after acute coronary syndromes: the SEX-SHOCK score
\ua9 The Author(s) 2024. Published by Oxford University Press on behalf of the European Society of Cardiology. BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Cardiogenic shock (CS) remains the primary cause of in-hospital death after acute coronary syndromes (ACS), with its plateauing mortality rates approaching 50%. To test novel interventions, personalized risk prediction is essential. The ORBI (Observatoire R\ue9gional Breton sur l\u27Infarctus) score represents the first-of-its-kind risk score to predict in-hospital CS in ACS patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). However, its sex-specific performance remains unknown, and refined risk prediction strategies are warranted. METHODS: This multinational study included a total of 53 537 ACS patients without CS on admission undergoing PCI. Following sex-specific evaluation of ORBI, regression and machine-learning models were used for variable selection and risk prediction. By combining best-performing models with highest-ranked predictors, SEX-SHOCK was developed, and internally and externally validated. RESULTS: The ORBI score showed lower discriminative performance for the prediction of CS in females than males in Swiss (area under the receiver operating characteristic curve [95% confidence interval]: 0.78 [0.76-0.81] vs. 0.81 [0.79-0.83]; P =.048) and French ACS patients (0.77 [0.74-0.81] vs. 0.84 [0.81-0.86]; P = .002). The newly developed SEX-SHOCK score, now incorporating ST-segment elevation, creatinine, C-reactive protein, and left ventricular ejection fraction, outperformed ORBI in both sexes (females: 0.81 [0.78-0.83]; males: 0.83 [0.82-0.85]; P < .001), which prevailed following internal and external validation in RICO (females: 0.82 [0.79-0.85]; males: 0.88 [0.86-0.89]; P < .001) and SPUM-ACS (females: 0.83 [0.77-0.90], P = .004; males: 0.83 [0.80-0.87], P = .001). CONCLUSIONS: The ORBI score showed modest sex-specific performance. The novel SEX-SHOCK score provides superior performance in females and males across the entire spectrum of ACS, thus providing a basis for future interventional trials and contemporary ACS management

Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) represents an acute heart failure syndrome and is increasingly recognized as part of the spectrum of cardiac complications observed after neurological disorders. A systematic investigation of TTS patients with neurological disorders has not been conducted yet. The aim of the study was to expand insights regarding neurological disease entities triggering TTS and to investigate the clinical profile and outcomes of TTS patients after primary neurological disorders. The International Takotsubo Registry is an observational multicenter collaborative effort of 45 centers in 14 countries (ClinicalTrials.gov, identifier NCT01947621). All patients in the registry fulfilled International Takotsubo Diagnostic Criteria. For the present study, patients were included if complete information on acute neurological disorders were available. 2402 patients in whom complete information on acute neurological status were available were analyzed. In 161 patients (6.7%) an acute neurological disorder was identified as the preceding triggering factor. The most common neurological disorders were seizures, intracranial hemorrhage, and ischemic stroke. Time from neurological symptoms to TTS diagnosis was ≤ 2 days in 87.3% of cases. TTS patients with neurological disorders were younger, had a lower female predominance, fewer cardiac symptoms, lower left ventricular ejection fraction, and higher levels of cardiac biomarkers. TTS patients with neurological disorders had a 3.2-fold increased odds of in-hospital mortality compared to TTS patients without neurological disorders. In this large-scale study, 1 out of 15 TTS patients had an acute neurological condition as the underlying triggering factor. Our data emphasize that a wide spectrum of neurological diseases ranging from benign to life-threatening encompass TTS. The high rates of adverse events highlight the need for clinical awareness. The International Takotsubo Registry was supported by the Biss Davies Charitable Trust. Место клопидогрела в современном лечении острого коронарного синдрома
In the article, a review is given of the facts that determined contemporary views of the role of clopidogrel in the treatment of acute coronary syndrome. The author described a history of the clinical studies of clopidogrel in acute coronary syndrome (ACS), analysed its role in the current approaches to the treatment of the disease during the widespread use of other platelet P2Y12 receptor antagonists (ticagrelor and prasugrel). The article discusses circumstances, when clopidogrel may have additional advantages, particularly the role of adherence to prolonged double antiplatelet therapy, as well as situations, when sever suppression of platelet function can be decreased (treatment de-escalation). According to a prospective randomized open-label PoPular Age study, clopidogrel combined with acetylsalicylic acid in patients with ACS without persistent ST segment elevations at the age of ≥70 years showed better adherence to treatment over the coming year as compared with clopidogrel combined with ticagrelor or prasugrel. As a result, these two approaches had comparable efficacy. Today, treatment de-escalation is a necessary measure to extend the double antiplatelet therapy in cases, when continued administration of prasugrel or ticagrelor appears unacceptable. There is insufficient evidence for the routine implementation of de-escalation in stented patients with ACS, although a small prospective, one-centre randomized open-label ToPIC study shows that this approach is safe. The author provides a review of the results of recently presented prospective studies on the choice of a platelet P2Y12 receptor antagonist for long-term treatment of acute coronary syndrome, taking into account the residual platelet reactivity and cytochrome p450 2c19 genetic polymorphisms. Among them are multicenter open randomized clinical TRoPICAL-ACS study, multicenter randomized open-label PoPular Genetics and TAILoR PCI studies. According to the study results, the long-term outcomes in stented patients with ACS with a good response to clopidogrel assessed by the residual functional activity of platelets or by studying cytochrome p450 2c19 genetic polymorphisms may not be worse than those during use of prasugrel or ticagrelor.
