Curso de Graduação em Educação Física.Neste trabalho de revisão bibliográfica, procurou-se discutir as informações referentes às raízes e à idealização do Jiu-jitsu Brasileiro. Buscou-se dirimir as discordâncias existentes nos trabalhos relacionados a este tema, e discutir a origem da modalidade. A importância deste trabalho se destaca pela suspeita de que uma versão acima das outras possui maior propagação em nosso país. Com isso, é proposto neste estudo, a identificação da origem do Jiu-jitsu, a influência do Ju-Jutsu Japonês na idealização do Judô e as semelhanças entre o Judô e o Jiu-jitsu Brasileiro que os diferem da modalidade japonesa. Para tal busca-se a compreensão não somente dos fatos referentes à idealização do Jiu-jitsu Brasileiro, como também da influência do Judô criado por Jigoro Kano nesse processo. Foi feita uma revisão histórica das três artes marciais, bem como a identificação de suas características, divergentes e semelhantes entre si. A partir desta análise foi possível avaliar como alguns atributos desenvolvidos no Kodokan auxiliaram na idealização e desenvolvimento da arte marcial brasileira, ainda que não sejam observados os princípios e pressupostos filosóficos propostos por Kano. Além disso, foi possível discutir o efeito da esportivização sofrida pelo Judô após a Segunda Guerra Mundial, e como esse fato determinou algumas das diferenças que essa modalidade possui hoje quando comparada ao Jiu-jitsu Gracie. Finalizando, compreenderemos por este estudo as raízes das três artes marciais, e as diferenças em sua composição técnica, estratégica e filosófica

The interview is a dialogue between the two, Crawford often prompting Gadson for the next song. They discuss Violet Alston and James Garfield Smalls. This is a continuation of the previous interview with Gracie Gadson, a song leader on St. Helena Island, which begins in the midst of Drinking of the Wine, and then proceeds with Take Me to the Water. Gadson talks through the different songs for different occasions. She discusses that some individuals have certain songs that belong to them, and why certain songs belong to certain individuals. She discusses her time performing songs at festivals and then she moves through some additional spirituals.
