Abstract: This dissertation, from the perspective theoretical and practical of Augusto de Campos about the poetry translation, analyzes seven of his translations of the North-American poet Emily Dickinson, published in the book "Emily Dickinson: não sou ninguém", in 2008. This work contains three chapters; the first presents the main elements that constitute the Dickinson's poetry, as well as the Brazilian translations of her poems. It has, as theoretical support, author slike: Gilbert and Gubar (1984), Donoghue (1969) Sewall (1963) and Daghlian(1987). The second chapter aims to approach the main remarks of Augusto, highlighting his activity as poet and as translator, aiming to understand his practice of translation. The third chapter analyses the Augusto's translations of seven poems of Dickinson and try to identify the relationship between the theory and the practice of the translator. This discursive, besides the formal and syntactic field focuses on the semantic field of the poems, without any kind of prescriptive judgment

Marques & Pohle (1995), in their phylogenetic analysis of the Pinnotheridae based on larval morphology, placed Pinnotheres politus (junior synonym of Caytraeotheres politus) and Tumidotheres maculatus in their Pinnotheres -II group. They also concluded that both taxa were paraphyletic and transferred P. politus into Tumidotheres Campos, 1989. Later, Campos (1999) re-analyzed the adult morphological traits on which Marques and Pohle (1995) based their conclusion and discovered that P. politus did not possess any of the diagnostic adult features of Tumidotheres (see, Campos 1989). Nevertheless, the adult morphology of both male and female P. politus concurred very well with that of Calyptraeotheres, and this species was finally included in this genus (see Campos, 1999). Palacios-Theil et al. (2009) subsequently performed a molecular analysis of selected members of the family Pinnotheridae to ascertain their phylogenetic relationships. Their results suggested a close phylogenetic relationship between Calyptraeotheres and Tumidotheres which, collectively with the genera Dissodactylus, Clypeasterophilus and Tunicotheres, formed the so-called clade-IIC of the Pinnotherinae sensu Palacios-Theil et al. (2009, Fig.1; but see discussion on this subfamily in Campos 2009). Our new analysis, on the updated matrix of Marquez & Pohle (1995), permitted to recognize that members of the genera Calyptraeotheres, Clypeasterophilus, Dissodactylus, Pinnaxodes Heller, 1865 and Tumidotheres (see Table 1, Pinnotherid V) share the larval characters analyzed and in general possess a very similar morphology. The larval morphology and molecular results suggest a closely relationship between Calyptraeotheres, Clypeasterophilus, Dissodactylus, and Tumidotheres but, these results mutually do not confirm the relationship of these genera with Tunicotheres and Pinnaxodes. Our results on larval morphology support a more closely relationship between the monotypic Tunicotheres and Pinnotheres taylori and in a less degree with members of the subfamily Pinnotherinae sensu Campos (2009) (see Fig. 1–2). Remarkably, Tunicotheres moseri and P. t a y l o r i share a similar kind of host (tunicates) (Rathbun 1918; Campos 1996) and both have abbreviated larval development (see Hart 1935; Bolaños et al. 2004) which is highly derived. The systematics and classification of Pinnotheres taylori as well as of other crabs symbiotic of tunicates is currently under study by the first author, however, all the gathered morphological and ecological evidence suggest it, like Tunicotheres, neither belong in Pinnotheres nor in the subfamily Pinnotherinae sensu Campos (2009). The zoeae of this subfamily show a generalized and unique laterally convex telson with the furcal shafts greatly reduced to the size of the median projection and adults have a well developed protuberance on the basal antennal article (Campos 2009). Contrarily, the “tunicopinnos” have a telson subquadrate with two short lateral spines (see Hart 1935) and the antennal protuberance is absent (see Campos 1996). The discussion of the enigmatic molecular relationship between Tunicotheres and the Dissodactylus complex, is beyond the scope of the present paper, but probably this is the first documented molecular convergence within Pinnotheridea. Regarding Pinnaxodes, neither its adult morphology (Campos et al., 1998; Takeda & Masahito 2000; Ng & Manning 2003) nor the molecular results suggest this genus is allied to Calyptraeotheres or other member of the clade IIC sensu PalaciosTheil et al (2009). We consider that the shared larval features between Pinnaxodes and other members of the Pinnotherid V group are probable homoplasies, like those observed in larvae of the Pinnixa -complex and Fabia- Juxtafabia (see Fig. 1; Palacios-Theil, et al. 2009: 457).

A preliminary analysis on selected adult morphological features of the carapace and third maxilliped of Calyptraeotheres suggests that is presumably more related to Dissodactylus and Clypeasterophilus than to Tumidotheres, although this would be in conflict with the molecular results of Palacios-Theil et al. (2009). The shared features between Calyptraeotheres and Dissodactylus - Clypeasterophilus include a glabrous subpentagonal-suborbicular carapace, and a third maxilliped with a fused ischium and merus and a carpus larger that the propodus in which, when present, a minute and rounded dactyl is inserted (Griffith 1987; Campos & Griffith 1990; Campos 1990; 1999; Ng & Manning 2003; Hernandez-Avila & Campos 2006). Tumidotheres has a tumid and suborbicular carapare and its surface is covered with short, dense, and deciduous tomentum and the carpus of the third maxilliped is shorter that the large propodus in which the long, narrow and saptulate dactylus is medially inserted (see Campos 1989). We consider that this preliminary conclusion requires an extensive morphological comparative study between all genera cited here, but emphasizing non-adaptive features.

In spite of the uncertainty on the phylogenetic affinity of the Pinnotherid V group, the only conclusion that can be fully sustained until now from an adult morphological viewpoint, is that each genus remains valid, an opinion which is supported by several unique apomorphies that uphold the monophyly of each taxon (Griffith 1987; Campos & Griffith 1990; Campos 1990; 1999; Campos et al. 1998; Takeda & Masahito 2000; Ng & Manning 2003; Hernandez-Avila & Campos 2006; Ocampo et al. 2010).
Published as part of Campos, Ernesto & Hernández-Ávila, Iván, 2010, Phylogeny of Calyptraeotheres Campos, 1990 (Crustacea, Decapoda, Brachyura, Pinnotheridae) with the description of C. pepeluisi new species from the tropical Mexican Pacific, pp. 41-52 in Zootaxa 2691 on pages 44-45, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.199558</a&gt

Każdy z prezentowanych tekstów scala, a zarazem przekracza kategorie pojęciowe obowiązujące w badaniach nad przekładem, literaturą, językiem, kulturą i filozofią, ukazując sylwetkę myśliciela swobodnie poruszającego się ponad instytucjonalnie narzucanymi podziałami. The essays collected in this anthology allow to trace the evolution of Haroldo de Campos' translation thought since the early 1960s. Each text combines and at the same time transcends the conceptual apparatuses proper to translation scholars, literary scholars, linguists, cultural scholars and philosophers, among others, revealing the profile of a thinker who moves freely above the institutional, top-down divisions into domains of knowledge. Campos continues to surprise not only with the linguistic, historical and cultural scope of his considerations, but also with their relevance. This can be seen in the singular approach to each translation endeavor (as reflected in numerous neologisms, the most popular of which are transcreation, reimagination, transpoetization, transparadization and transluciferation), which foreshadows postmodern small-range theories, poetics and languages of interpretation flowing not from an abstract, top-down model, but from direct contact with the object of inquiry. The Brazilian poet seems to advocate for a shift from the search for a single theory - even if it takes a dualistic form, like most contemporary travesties of the opposition between foreignization and domestication - to a multiplicity of theories constructed ad hoc in the encounter with a given text. Also important in today's view is the widening of the boundaries of the concept of translation, evident in Campos' sketches, to include all forms of transformation of the original text. This volume is the first such comprehensive collection of the author's theoretical texts on translation published outside his country of origin, accompanied by a pioneering critical study of the sketches resulting from years of research into the legacy of the Brazilian polyglot. Each essay is enriched by commentaries addressing not only aspects of the original that are difficult to render and elements of Lusophone cultures that are unfamiliar to a Polish audience, but also covering the meanings of most of the terms, references to other works by the author, historical-literary remarks, and suggestions for further considerations

Grasslands occupy great extensions of the Brazilian territory. However, there is a considerable diversity among them in terms of flourishing and physionomy, which does not permit their integration in order to constitute a sole kind of vegetation. Based on these facts, the author tries to explain the possible causes that originated or that sustain those grasslands. Factors such as substratum ( soil, rocks, marsh etc ) and climate are the most relevant in the present analysis, specially the substratum. The main kinds of grasslands are analyzed here one by one, according to their particularities. The author concludes that substratum is the leading factor of differentiation in the Brazilian grasslands, present in all regions.

Clown. Performance. Espetáculo. ABSTRACT: In this article I read the literature of Campos de Carvalho through the figure of the clown, which the author himself suggests in one of his main novels, A lua vem da Ásia. The article is based on Deleuze and Guattari\u27s reflections about Kafka as well as, for other reasons, on Rancière\u27s contribution to the debate on "writing policies", which together point to some consequences that the figure of the clown imposes on the movement of the narrative of the author, with its voluble, dismembered and improvised appearance. In the end, the article suggests Carvalho\u27s literature as a "spectacle", in its various senses, because it thematizes the applause, the separation and finally the performance gesture. KEYWORDS: Campos de Carvalho. Clown. Performance. Spectacle

In two letters of April 1919, Pessoa informs his friend Francisco Fernandes Lopes that he is preparing with a group of intellectuals a “Portuguese review exclusively aimed at foreigners”, which would be published first in French and then in English. This review, entitled Diogène, never appeared, like so many others he contemplated, but many fragments in French from this planned undertaking have remained, most of which are published here for the first time. Since Pessoa reveals to Lopes that the first issue will comprise an article by Álvaro de Campos called “Diogène – Considérations pour ceux qui n’acceptent pas”, as well as a translation of Campos’ poetical manifesto “Ultimatum”, and since he does not mention any other author except himself, we may imagine that Campos could well be the sole author of all these fragments (consisting of essays and announcements). An analysis of the content, style, and tone of these texts seems to confirm this hypothesis. In addition to the observation that the Greek philosopher Diogenes, under whose auspices the review is placed, has similar reflections as those of Campos, it is possible to identify parallels and echoes between most of the texts presented here and other writings by Campos, including the “Ultimatum”.Dans deux lettres du mois d’avril 1919, Fernando Pessoa fait savoir à son ami Francisco Fernandes Lopes qu’il prépare avec un groupe d’intellectuels une «revue portugaise exclusivement destinée aux étrangers», qui serait publiée d’abord en français, puis en anglais.

Abstract: This article brings an analysis of poems from the early works of Augusto de Campos aiming at the investigation of the gradual conformation of an avant-garde poetics. For that, the works prior to the formal beginning of the Concrete Poetry Movement in 1956 come into play. This approach covers from his first book O rei menos o reino (1951) to Poetamenos, published in 1955. Therefore, this article intends to assess how formal research, the conscious handling of language, the innovative compositional procedures, and the themes and motives are applied to works that come before the explicit adoption, by the author, of an avant-gardist attitude. Keywords: concrete poetry; avant-garde; Augusto de Campos
