Dragica Rajcic: Writing Women and War in the Margins

    No full text
Croatian-born Dragica Rajcic has received several awards for her poetry and short prose works. The author, who writes in German, permanently resides in Switzerland since fleeing war-torn Croatia in 1991. Rajcic\u27s Heimat, she claims, is in language, not any place defined by geographical boundaries (Rajcic, 2009). Often praised for its sharp irony and cutting insight, Rajcic\u27s language artfully deconstructs the reality it circumscribes. Defiant of the linguistic rules of grammar prescribed by High German, Rajcic\u27s voice revels in its foreignness, in its ability to comment and critique precisely because it stands outside the realm of the familiar and expected. No full text
The poem ‘Bosnien 92, 93’ belongs to the collection of poems Post Bellum, published in 2000 in Zurich. Dragica Raj?i?, author of this collection, was born in Croacia and lived in Switzerland, for many years, where she wrote and published literary texts in German. Introducing the imprint of foreignness in her poems, Raj?i? defamiliarizes a series of perceptions, which concern ideas about national belongingness, lyrical speech, gender questions, but also ideas about the linguistic material which forms the basis of a poem. Thus, this article aims to analyse defamiliarization strategies present in the poem ‘Bosnien 92, 93’.RESUMO: O poema ‘Bósnia, 92, 93’ faz parte da coletânea Post Bellum, publicada em 2000, em Zurique.

The paper presents analysis of spatial and demographic changes in the settlement network of Zmijanje, which are observed in territorial depopulation i.e. in several decades of demographic (population) decline and fragmentation of settlements. These negative trends of population growth are particularly evident in the highland and mountainous areas - in the settlement networks in the Republic of Srpska and the settlement network of Zmijanje, peripheral regions, and the remote areas, away from the local, subregional and regional centres, etc.U ovom radu analizirane su prostorno-demografske promene u mreži naselja Zmijanja, koje se manifestuju u teritorijalnom razređivanju, odnosno višedecenijskom demografskom pražnjenju (populaciono devalviranje) i usitnjavanju naselja.

The indicators presented in the paper emphasize the role of certain regions in the current regional reality of Serbia. Also, they exemplify regional disparities more comprehensively in terms of the achieved level of socio-economic development and the orientation of the analysed regions to particular sectors of the economy

From 1960 to 1980, Serbia went through a huge socio-geographic transformation due to the influence of industrialization and urbanization. Simultaneoulsy, besides the transition of active population from primary into secondary and tertiary activities, there was a movement from rural into urban areas as well as strong transformation of both rural and urban settlements. Emigration played a dominant role in the decrease of rural population, while immigration had an important role in the increase of urban population. All this influenced the natural component of general migration of the population. New tendencies in migration and distribution of the population emerged since the eighties of the last century, which are characterized by a rapid decrease of the population in rural areas and stagnation and slow increase of urban population due to low immigration and rapid decrease of population growth. Similar processes took place on geospatial territory of today’s town – former municipality of Čačak. In order to determine these processes this paper analyses the relationship between natural and migration determinants of the development of the population in the municipality i.e. the Town of Čačak
