Gami cation of Phishing URL Detection Training
No full textEducating internet users about phishing as a last line of defence is an important
tool at our disposal to prevent cyber crime. In this study two methods are com-
pared for their e ectiveness in training individuals to correctly classify URLs into
two categories; phishing URLs or normal URLs. One of these training methods uses
a simple document, whereas the other is the gami ed version of the aforementioned
document. The gami cation was based on a recent guideline for structural gami -
cation. An experiment was conducted to evaluate the e ectiveness of both training
methods. The data showed that both methods were proven to increase the partici-
pants accuracy in classifying URLs, although there was not a signi cant di erence
between the two training methods. The data ts the mixed bag of results that is
research on gami cation and also education on cyber security issues

Monotone Tree-Based GAMI Models by Adapting XGBoost
No full textRecent papers have used machine learning architecture to fit low-order
functional ANOVA models with main effects and second-order interactions. These
GAMI (GAM + Interaction) models are directly interpretable as the functional
main effects and interactions can be easily plotted and visualized.
Unfortunately, it is not easy to incorporate the monotonicity requirement into
the existing GAMI models based on boosted trees, such as EBM (Lou et al. 2013)
and GAMI-Lin-T (Hu et al. 2022). This paper considers models of the form
and develops monotone tree-based GAMI
models, called monotone GAMI-Tree, by adapting the XGBoost algorithm. It is
straightforward to fit a monotone model to using the options in XGBoost.
However, the fitted model is still a black box. We take a different approach:
i) use a filtering technique to determine the important interactions, ii) fit a
monotone XGBoost algorithm with the selected interactions, and finally iii)
parse and purify the results to get a monotone GAMI model. Simulated datasets
are used to demonstrate the behaviors of mono-GAMI-Tree and EBM, both of which
use piecewise constant fits. Note that the monotonicity requirement is for the
full model. Under certain situations, the main effects will also be monotone.
But, as seen in the examples, the interactions will not be monotone.Comment: 12 page

It is made by dyeing washi (Japanese paper) with aobana , a kind of dayflower (Commelina communis L. var. hortensis Makino). It was produced in large amounts in the past but now its production is on the verge of disappearance.
Recently, documentary films taken in 1963 and 1978 by Dr. Konoshima Masao, a scientist of natural medicine, on the production of aobana-gami were presented to the Department of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Data was collected using a survey method from 44 respondents who are loyal customers of Sambal Gami Jet 81. The data was then analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. The research results show that Product Quality and Service Quality significantly influence Customer Satisfaction. This research highlights the importance of prioritizing and improving Product Quality and Service Quality to maintain and increase customer satisfaction in food businesses such as Sambal Gami Jet 81 Porong.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak kualitas produk dan kualitas pelayanan terhadap kepuasan pelanggan di Sambal Gami Jet 81 Porong. Metode survei digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data dari 45 responden yang merupakan pelanggan tetap Sambal Gami Jet 81. Analisis regresi linier berganda digunakan untuk menganalisis data. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa baik kualitas produk maupun kualitas pelayanan memiliki dampak yang signifikan terhadap kepuasan pelanggan. Analysis and Identification of Active Compounds from Gami-Soyosan Toxic to MCF-7 Human Breast Adenocarcinoma Cells
No full textGami-soyosan is a medicinal herbal formulation prescribed for the treatment of menopausal symptoms, including hot flashes and osteoporosis. Gami-soyosan is also used to treat similar symptoms experienced by patients with breast cancer. The incidence of breast cancer in women receiving hormone replacement therapy is a big burden. However, little is known about the components and their mechanism of action that exhibit these beneficial effects of Gami-soyosan. The aim of this study was to simultaneously analyze compounds of Gami-soyosan, and determine their cytotoxic effects on estrogen receptor (ER)-positive MCF-7 human breast adenocarcinoma cells. We established a simultaneous analysis method of 18 compounds contained in Gami-soyosan and found that, among the various compounds in Gami-soyosan, gallic acid (1), decursin (17), and decursinol angelate (18) suppressed the viability of MCF-7 cells. Gallic acid (1), decursin (17), and decursinol angelate (18) induced apoptotic cell death and significantly increased poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) cleavage and the Bcl-2-associated X protein/ B-cell lymphoma 2 (Bax/Bcl-2) ratio. Decursin (17) increased the expression of cleaved caspases-8, -9, -7, and -3. Decursinol angelate (18) increased the expression of cleaved caspase-8 and -7. These three components altered the different apoptosis signal pathways. Collectively, gallic acid (1), decursin (17), and decursinol angelate (18) may be used to inhibit cell proliferation synergistically in patients with ER-positive breast cancer
