Effetti della salinità su risposte immunitarie della vongola Chamelea gallina (L. 1758).
In the present study, the effects of differing salinities on immune responses of the clam, Chamelea gallina (L., 1758), were investigated. The animals were kept for 7 days at 28, 34 (control) and 40‰, and total haemocyte count (THC), phagocytic and lysozyme activities were measured. Results show that salinity values far from 34‰ affects significantly functional responses of C. gallina haemocytes
Influence of as-built surfaces on the fatigue behavior of AlSi10Mg parts obtained by laser powder bed fusion
In the recent years the industrial expectations about metal additive manufacturing technology have exploded with an increasing focus on materials and components qualification. Qualification and certification of L-PBF components for structural application require an understanding of the links among technology, materials and fatigue performance. One dominating factor affecting fatigue strength is the as-built surface quality of the -PBF parts because surface modification would add unacceptable high costs is impossible due to geometrical complexity. The present contribution, being aimed at L-PBF applications for the automotive and aerospace sectors, deals with the AlSi10Mg alloy, the most relevant and studied Al-alloy, produced with an industrial grade L-PBF system operated by an established AM service provider. The overall objective was the determination of the link between the as-built surface quality, i.e. technology-dependent, and the fatigue data required for the structural integrity assessment of L-PBF parts. An innovative fatigue test methodology using a miniature specimen geometry was applied to the efficient investigation of L-PBF technology-dependent factors on the fatigue behavior of AlSi10Mg alloy
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
The reproductive cycle of Chamelea gallina (L., 1758) (Mollusca: Bivalvia) in three populations from the Andalusian coast (southern Spain)
The gametogenic cycle of three populations of Chamelea gallina (L., 1758) from the Andalusian coast (southern Spain) was determined by means of histological methods and variations in dry weight. The pattern shown was very similar in all of them. In Atlantic populations (Punta Umbría and Doñana), spawning occured between January and September, and a short period of sexual repose took place from the end of September until November, when gametogenesis began. In the Mediterranean population (Fuengirola), spawning lasted almost the entire year, even though in autumn and winter spawning percentage was lower than in spring and summer.
A view to the striped venus (Chame lea gallina L., 1753) processing industry in Turkey
Bu çalışmada, Türkiye’de beyaz kum midyesi (Chamelea gallina
L., 1758) işleme, muhafaza ve pazarlaması
yapan
fabrikaların 2000-2005 yılları
arasındaki üretim-işleme faaliyetleri incelenmiştir.
Kapasiteleri 55–200 ton/gün arasında değişen 6
fabrikanın yöneticileriyle birebir yapılan anketler sonucu elde edilen
verilere göre toplam 100.000 m

üzerindeki potansiyel etkileri irdelenmiştir. In study, recent (2000-2005) processing-production activities of seafood plants processing and marketing striped venus ( Chamelea gallina L., 1753) in Turkey were evaluated. The study was conducted through interviewing managers of 6 striped venus processing plants. The capacities of the plants ranged between 55 and 200 tons/day with a total indoor production area of 100 000 m 2 . The plants employed around 500 workers and 55 technical staff. None of them solely depended on striped venus processing and marketing. They were also processing, storing and marketing other fishery products, fruits and vegetables during closed seasons for striped venus fishing . Entire processed striped venus were stored and exported to EU countries, particularly to Italy before following fishing season. Sum of striped venus processed between 2000 and 2005 by those 6 plants was higher than official produc tion figures of the species. Here we have evaluated the importance of striped venus fishery in Turkish fisheries, processing and marketing issues, characteristics of current processing plant and potential impacts of current processing capacities of the plants on the striped venus stocks
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
