Intersubjetividade, natureza e sentimentos morais. A teoria crítica de A. Honneth e a regra de ouro

    No full text
The text raises the question of the conditions for the possibility of intersubjectivity in the theory of recognition. An analysis of the theory of recognition formulated by Axel Honneth shows how the conflict determined by moral motivations relativizes the Habermasian premise of the linguistic understanding and brings the normative dimension back to social theory. The author returns to the pages of the Encyclopedia of Hegel to recover the objective dimension of intersubjectivity and highlights problems in Honneth’s theoretical project. He confronts both the linguistic-hermeneutic and the recognition paradigm with his pressuposition of this intersubjectivity that yet have to be established, and concludes that the theory of recognition can not explain the normative basis of intersubjectiv recognition. This theory, so Testa, describes contexts of interaction and not moral imperatives. The golden rule, especially his negative formulation is seen as a better codification of the requirement to give recognition without neglecting the experience of offenses and fight; it is seen as a better positive justification of the norms of reciprocity.O texto coloca a questão das condições de possibilidade da intersubjetividade na teoria do reconhecimento. The aim of this article is to reconstruct the literary relationship between Pascoli and the writer Cesario Testa, author of a very little known translation of Pascoli’s Latin poem Centurio (gold-medal Hoeufft Prize from Amsterdam International Latin Verse Competition in 1902). While editing the unpublished correspondence Pascoli-Testa, the A. focuses both on the history of Centurio’s translation, and on the ‘backstage’ of Pascoli’s participation in the competition held in Rome in honor of the fiftieth anniversary of the Unification of Italy

Mitos, pestes y aullidos dibujados por Clorindo Testa: denuncia y relato

    No full text
This work proposes to revisit a set of drawings of myths, plagues, and howls by the Italo-Argentine architect Clorindo Testa, which is articulated through the series La Peste en Ceppaloni (1977-1997). This collection of maps, drawings and murals is a journey in which the author metaphorically denounces the impact of environmental problems on the human condition and the air of its habitat. Methodologically, the text uses a triple account of the work: narrative-visual, archaeological, and anthropological. It deciphers the structure of the drawn myth that develops in the Middle Ages in the Italian town of Ceppaloni, where Testa’s family comes from. The medieval town and its castle are explored, as well as the itinerary of the Black Plague during the 14th century. These series correlate with the work of this artist, who recovers figuration to find a certain idea of humanism. For Testa, art, architecture, and ecology cohabit.

Giving form to future branding realities

    No full text
Purpose – The purpose of this study is to question the prospective relevance of conceptual articles on branding. Design/methodology/approach – The paper advocates the development of conceptual articles with prospective relevance by emphasizing two key elements – the form and the context of discovery. The paper is illustrated with empirical data on how some branding researchers have produced such conceptual articles. Findings – To author such articles the researchers might focus more on the initial phase of theorizing, when their intuition makes it possible to imagine new reality through alternative forms. The paper also highlights a need to reconsider the role of essays in branding research, particularly in writing conceptual pieces of prospective relevance. Research limitations/implications – The connection between intuition and form is crucial to producing prospectively relevant conceptual articles. By evolving along the middle ground, without falling into empirical production on the one hand or guruization on the other, the researcher can give form to emerging branding phenomena. Originality/value – The paper renews the debate on the need for more conceptual articles by focusing on a forgotten but crucial dimension: foresight relevance

Mario Testa, Argentine doctor, fundamental for the study in the area of Health Policies, Planning and Management. Fundamental piece in collective health studies, due to its theoretical and methodological potential, which gives them greater theoretical and analytical density. However, its knowledge is little disseminated in Latin America, being necessary due to the theoretical rarity present in the area of policies and planning. This essay aims to make a brief description of four central elements in the work of Mario Testa. First, Testa's career shows the importance of critical work without dogmatism. Second, the proposal of strategic thinking that has power as a central category, places as important the understanding of the historicity of social subjects and processes, planning in its political nature and the postulate of coherence. Third, possibilities of using the author's theory as a theoretical-analytical tool are indicated. Finally, the possibility of finding in the author the possibility of social transformation through a theory of action is explored. Testa's thinking is current, alive and deserves wide dissemination to strengthen the area of Health Policies, Planning and Management in Latin America. 'BioQuaRT' project: Design of a novel In Situ protocol for the simultaneous visualisation of chromosomal aberrations and micronuclei after irradiation at microbeam facilities

    No full text
The aim of the 'BioQuaRT' (Biologically weighted Quantities in RadioTherapy) project is to develop measurement techniques for characterising charged particle track structure on different length scales, and to correlate at the cellular level the track structure properties with the biological effects of radiation. This multi-scale approach will allow characterisation of the radiation qualities used in radiotherapy and the related biological effects. Charged-particle microbeam facilities were chosen as the platforms for all radiobiology experiments in the 'BioQuaRT' project, because they allow targeting single cells (or compartments of a cell) with a predefined number of ionising particles and correlating the cell-by-cell induced damage with type and energy of the radiation and with the number of ions per cell. Within this project, a novel in situ protocol was developed for the analysis of the misrepaired and/or unrepaired chromosome damage induced by charged-particle irradiations at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) ion microbeam facility. Among the cytogenetic biomarkers to detect and estimate radiation-induced DNA damage in radiobiology, chromosomal aberrations and micronuclei were chosen. The characteristics of the PTB irradiation system required the design of a special in situ assay: specific irradiation dishes with a base made from a biofoil 25-μm thick and only 3000-4000 cells seeded and irradiated per dish. This method was developed on Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells, one of the most commonly used cell lines in radiobiology in vitro experiments. The present protocol allows the simultaneous scoring of chromosome aberrations and micronuclei on the same irradiated dish. Thanks to its versatility, this method could also be extended to other radiobiological applications besides the single-ion microbeam irradiations. © The Author 2015

Received: May 8th, 2021 ; Accepted: July 30th, 2021 ; Published: October 5th, 2021 ; Corresponding author: [email protected], [email protected] of local olive cultivars is a key factor for the medium-term development strategy of the Italian olive agroindustry. This involves enhancements in both, cultural practices and nursery techniques. The aim of this research was the evaluation in nursery, on vegetative growth and root development of young olive plants, of two different treatments: substrate enrichment with Osmocote®, a slow-release fertilizer, and Trianum-P a Trichoderma harzianum based biostimulant applied as foliar spray. The trial was carried out on Rotondella and Salella, two autochthonous olive cultivars from the Campania region (southern Italy). Central axis height, number and length of lateral shoots, leaf number and trunk base diameter were monitored during the experiment. Eight months later, all plants were uprooted, and further parameters were measured: total leaf area, trunk cross sectional area (TCSA), fresh and dry weight of the leaves, shoots, trunk, roots, and total dry matter. The canopy/root ratio (C/R) was also determined. Overall, the Osmocote® treatment caused a significant increase in the vegetative growth parameters for both cultivars, with a more evident effect on the development of the canopy organs. The observation reported in the present work can represent a convenient piece of information particularly in relation to stress resilience in nursery production

    Integrated silicon optofluidic ring resonator

    No full text
The feasibility of an integrated silicon optofluidic ring resonator is demonstrated. Liquid core antiresonant reflecting optical waveguides are used to realize a rectangular ring resonator with a multimode interference liquid core coupler between the ring and the bus waveguide. In this configuration the same waveguide used to confine the light is able to deliver the liquid sample without the need for any additional microfluidics, resulting in a very compact device with a required liquid volume of about 0.11 nl. Optical characterization shows that ring with a good quality factor (Q ? 800) can be achieved in good agreement with the numerical results.Micro ElectronicsElectrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Scienc
