Voiceless Victims in Sin tetas no hay paraíso
In his article Voiceless Victims in Sin tetas no hay paraíso Henry James Morello discusses Gustavo Bolívar\u27s Sin tetas no hay paraiso. The novel is, in Bolívar\u27s words, his way of bringing attention to the problem of young women in Colombia using prostitution in order to pay for plastic surgery a very specific problem facing the youth of Colombia. However, at what price is the success of the novel? Or, rather, who is compromised as a result of this cultural phenomenon? The author may have intended to write a novel that called attention to the problems facing Colombian society, the result, however, is very different. The outcome of the novel and its subsequent telenovela incarnations is nothing short of the reification and commodification of the people of Pereira, Colombia. In examining Bolivar\u27s choice of genre and narrative voice, Morello argues that Bolivar\u27s claim to bring attention to a terrible situation breaks down

Interleukin-17A Exacerbates Ferric Chloride-Induced Arterial Thrombosis in Rat Carotid Artery
Interleukin-17A (IL-17A), the most widely studied member of the IL-17 cytokine family, is a cytokine which emerged to be critical for host defense as well as in the pathogenesis of autoimmune disorders. Moreover, IL-17A is involved in the pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases, such as atherosclerosis and acute coronary syndrome and in the cardiovascular risk associated with systemic immunological disorders. Consistent with this, we have recently shown that IL-17A increases human and murine platelet response to ADP. In this study we expanded our previous observation and we describe for the first time an in vivo prothrombotic effect of the cytokine. Our results show that IL-17A is synergic with a low FeCl3 concentration in inducing carotid thrombus in rats and suggest that the effect is likely related to a downregulation of CD39 vascular expression and hydrolyzing activity. Our findings indicate that IL-17A might be an important molecule at the interface between hemostasis and inflammation
The regulation of occupational health and safety is mainly focused on the importance of organisational aspects regarding both private and public sector.
The aim of this study is to demonstrate that the origin of the public organisation system set out in the T.U. d.lgs 81/2008 is in compliance with the mission and institutional aims of the Public Administration, under a systematic perspective.
“Valuing and protecting the dignity of the workers, safeguarding the physical, mental and social welfare”, will practically enforce the preventive regulatory system and increase the productivity of the working process.
The individual and organisational well-being is strictly co-related to the general level of performance achieved by organisations specifically in the public sector, where the improvement of working conditions can be considered as an implementation of Constitutional principles in the context of the Public Administration which nowadays is deemed to face, with limited financial resources, the changes of the society and the current economic crisis.
Each public organisation shall, by law, increase its level of welfare according to its own means and type of participation, in order to provide a service that complies qualitatively with the needs of the public.
For this purpose the study is conducted through the analysis of legislations and practical experiences related also to the aims of the customer satisfaction. Moreover the study establishes which are the main psychosocial risks (stress, mobbing, burn out), and identifies for each member of the organisation not only its own debt security but also the importance of its role in the growth of the well-being.
In the end the author concludes that public employees have the right to obtain a collective and individual well-being through a compensation scheme and that in the public administrations, the job safety, the organisational well being and the job performance are strictly and inevitably interdepend
No news from abroad: A comparative content analysis of news issues on Italian radio
This article examines radio information in Italy. A quantitative content analysis was performed of the news editions of the main national broadcasters that transmit mainly informational content (RTL 102.5, Radio24, RAI Radio1, Radio Capital), as well as a regional broadcaster with a strong focus on information (Radio Popolare) and a national network whose informational spaces are minimal due to target and format (Radio 105). The study sampled one week of broadcasting from these radio stations, for a total of 1008 hours, from 23 to 29 January 2012. Results show how information in Italy is highly focused on internal politics and news stories, pushing news from abroad to the fringes and confirming the image of a nation that is little interested in what occurs outside its borders. © The Author(s) 2014
