United States Supreme Court Case Missouri v Frye
Missouri v. Frye: Plea Bargains and the 6th Amendment Abstract In the case of Missouri v. Galin E. Frye, Frye was charged with a felony carrying a maximum sentence of a four year prison term for driving with a revoked license on four separate occasions under Missouri law. Frye, unbeknownst to him, had been given two plea bargain deals by the prosecutor to his attorney that would reduce his sentence if he plead guilty to his crimes. This would have allowed him to plead guilty for his crimes but only serve a ninety day sentence. His counsel did not communicate these offers with Frye and he was sentenced to a three year prison term for a class D felony. After conviction, Frye went back to the court to seek relief and was denied but the Missouri Appellate court reversed his conviction. Strickland v Washington 466 U.S. 668 stated that there are certain guidelines that must be followed to prove a Sixth Amendment violation. The case proceeded to the United Stated Supreme Court and which ruled on March 21, 2012 that Galin E. Frye’s case would be vacated and remanded since his constitutional rights were violated. This presentation will discuss the fundamentals of plea bargaining as well as the rights given to defendants under the Sixth Amendment

The Death and Transfiguration of Frye
The rule of Frye v. United States was seventy years old, and had long dominated American law on the question of how well established a scientific principle must be for it to provide the basis for expert testimony. Even after the passage of the Federal Rules of Evidence, several of the federal circuits, as well as various states, purported to adhere to Frye\u27s general acceptance standard. But now, unanimously, briefly, and with no apparent angst, the United States Supreme Court has held in Daubert v. Merrell Dow Pharmaceuticals, Inc. that the Frye rule is incompatible with the Federal Rules

Znova o Northupu Freyu, podobe kulture v kontekstu kanadskega kritištva
Responding to a prevailing critique of Northrop Frye\u27s studies of Canadian culture, the author of the paper combines Frye\u27s Canadian essays with his general theory in order to demonstrate that Frye\u27s use of the term imagination, similarly to Iser\u27s notion of "imaginary", allows a differentiation of the social imaginary and the fictive. Frye has provided a background for treatment of the fictive as aesthetic structure and has employed the study of Canadian culture primarily as a specific tool to describe literature with a disturbed aesthetic structure.
A low-phase-noise 5-GHz CMOS quadrature VCO using superharmonic coupling
A new concept for quadrature coupling of LC oscillators is introduced and demonstrated on a 5-GHz CMOS voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO). It uses the second harmonic of the outputs to couple the oscillators. The technique provides quadrature over a wide tuning range without introducing any increase in phase noise or power consumption. The VCO is tunable between 4.57 and 5.21 GHz and has a phase noise lower than -124 dBc/Hz at 1-MHz offset over the entire tuning range. The worst-case measured image rejection is 33 dB. The circuit draws 8.75 mA from a 2.5-V supply
