A pausada contemporaneidade de Rui Pires Cabral

O corpus da pesquisa constitui-se por poemaspertencentes às duas versões do livro A super-realidade (1995; 2011) eao livro Longe da aldeia (2005). O principal objetivo do trabalho écompreender como a relação entre o sujeito poético e acontemporaneidade se desenvolve formalmente na poesia desse autorque opta pelo uso do verso livre, o que possibilita variadas leiturasrítmicas a cada poema. Para tanto, articulo um breve histórico sobreparte da poesia portuguesa contemporânea, acompanhado da reflexãoacerca de alguns conceitos formais mobilizados em tal obra a fim deentender como o ritmo poético contribui para materializar essa relação. Abstract : In this study, I present a discussion about poetic rhythm from the workof Rui Pires Cabral. The research corpus is constituted by poemsbelonging to the two versions of the book A super-realidade (1995;2011) and the book Longe da aldeia (2005). The main objective of thisstudy is to understand how the relationship between the poetic subjectand the contemporaneity formally develops in the poetry of this authorwho opts for the use of free verse, which enables different rhythmicreadings of each poem. Therefore, I articulate a brief history about thecontemporary Portuguese poetry, accompanied by a very general look ofsome formal concepts mobilized in such work in order to understandhow the poetic rhythm contributes to materialize this relationship

The trombone as portrayed in Portuguese iconography during the sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries
No full textThis article studies eleven sixteenth and seventeenth century iconographical sources depicting slide brass instruments, by both Portuguese and foreign artists active in Portugal, as well as foreign artists depicting Portuguese scenes. This study addresses questions concerning aspects of trombone technique that have not previously been considered and may have implications in the way the trombone was understood elsewhere in Europe. It focuses on aspects of technique depicted that may be representative of the trombone’s contemporary design and performance and therefore the manner in which the instrument was held and indeed played. Finally, this article suggests a transitional technical period when the way of holding the single-slide trumpet may have been used to play the trombone.Publisher PD

Idealização e transformação da casa em que viveu rui barbosa em museu (1924-1966)
Get PDFThe article analyzes the transformation process of the house of jurist Rui Barbosa into a museum, its preservation and its meaning in the policy of national heritage protection. For this, we will analyze the attempt of rulers and schoolars of the First Republic to form the pantheon of brazilian heroes, in order to legitimize the regime and create in society a feeling of national identity, choosing the figure of Rui Barbosa for this role. We will also examine the image that was built of Rui Barbosa, between criticism and praise, and how it helped transform his residence and private life into material and imaterial heritage. Finally, we will discuss how, despite the controversial issues, the public opinion won for Rui Barbosa's positive image, glorifying his life and legacy.O artigo analisa o processo que envolveu a transformação da casa do jurista Rui Barbosa em museu, o qual abrangeu o tombamento da edificação e o significado desse ato na política de proteção ao patrimônio nacional. Para isso, analisaremos a tentativa de governantes e letrados da Primeira República para formar o panteão de heróis brasileiros, com o intuito de legitimar o regime e criar na sociedade um sentimento de identidade nacional, escolhendo a figura de Rui Barbosa para integrar esse panteão. Examinaremos, também, a imagem que se construiu de Rui Barbosa, entre críticas e louvores, e como isso ajudou a transformar sua residência e sua vida privada em patrimônio material e imaterial. Por fim, abordaremos como, apesar das questões polêmicas, a opinião pública fez vencer a imagem positiva de Rui Barbosa, glorificando sua vida e seu legado

No full text143fls.Em 1912, o bombardeio de Salvador por seus próprios fortes de defesa assinalou a ascensão de um
novo “chefe” na política baiana: o ex-deputado e ex-ministro José Joaquim Seabra. Amparado pelo
governo federal, Seabra foi o primeiro político a estabelecer um domínio duradouro na Bahia
republicana, desestabilizando a relação consagrada entre Rui Barbosa e os governadores
precedentes. Durante 12 anos, a Águia de Haia teve que se confrontar com a sagacidade de Seabra,
que se revelou uma verdadeira raposa política. Apesar de suas diferenças, Rui e Seabra tinham
muitas características em comum. Ambos encarnavam o desejo de resgatar a grandeza histórica da
Bahia e de colocar a terra natal nos trilhos do progresso e da civilização. A dissertação enfoca
diversos aspectos do embate entre Rui Barbosa e J. J. Seabra, como uma chave para compreensão da
dinâmica política da Bahia na Primeira República.In 1912, Salvador was surprisingly attacked by the cannons kept in its own forts. This shocking event
marked the rise of a new “boss” in Bahia’s political scene: the former deputy and former minister
José Joaquim Seabra. Supported by the federal government, Seabra became the first politician to
establish a lasting rule over Bahia, since the beginning of the republican period, destabilizing the
relationship established between Rui Barbosa and previous governors. For 12 years, the Eagle of The
Hague, as Rui Barbosa was known, had to confront with the sagacity of Seabra, who has proved to be
clever as a fox. Despite their differences, Rui and Seabra had many features in common. Both
embodied the desire to rescue the historic grandeur of Bahia and to place their homeland in the path
of progress and civilization. The dissertation focuses on several aspects of the clash between Rui
Barbosa and J. J. Seabra, as a key to understanding the political dynamics of Bahia in the First
