Ontologia qualitativa, fenomenologia della persona. Intervista a Francesca De Vecchi

    Get PDF
In this paper, I interview Francesca De Vecchi (Full Professor of Theoretical Philosophy in Vita-Salute San Raffaele University) about her qualitative ontology and its social and normative implications. If at the foundation of our lifeworld there are significantly qualitative experiences, phenomenology can investigate the most important contemporary issues, such as gender disparity, socio-virtuality depersonalizations and political urgencies

"J'ai fait tout ce que j'ai voulu". Simone de Beauvoir e la creatività femminile

    No full text

Migrants and Refugees in Europe. Work Integration in Comparative Perspective.

    No full text
The motivations of migrants for travelling to Europe vary, and the quality of the processes involved in their settlement and contribution to social and economic development are inextricably linked to their prospects of finding and sustaining good-quality work. This book explores the labour market integration of migrants, refugees and asylum seekers across seven European countries: the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Italy, Switzerland and the UK. Using empirical data from the Horizon2020 SIRIUS Project, it investigates how legal, political, social and personal circumstances combine to determine the work trajectory for migrants who choose Europe as their home

    On Light Nouns

    No full text
This paper investigates the hypothesis that word classes are not homogeneous, but rather complex sets of entities with (partially) different properties that can be arranged along a scale. Whereas much work has been done on subclasses of verbs, and on scales of ‘verbiness’ (e.g., full-fledged verbs vs. verbs with a grammatical function), less attention has been paid to scales of ‘nouniness’. This paper focuses on a set of nouns – called ‘Light Nouns’ here – that occur as N1 in binominal constructions of the N1 of N2 type in languages such as Italian, English, and French. In this position Light Nouns tend to lose their lexical content and take on a more grammatical meaning that serves to modify N2. We discuss various types of Light Nouns (among which Taxonomic Nouns, Approximators, Quantifiers, and Support Nouns), measure their referentiality according to a set of parameters, and finally rank them along a scale
