Caratterizzazione diStaphylococcus aureusisolato da formaggi ovini al latte crudo e profilo di antibiotico resistenza
In vitro activities of 16 antibiotics were tested against 100S. aureus(SA) isolated from raw sheep’s milk curds taken from 10 factories. The Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MICs) of 16 antibiotics was determined by the broth microdilution method. All 100 isolates were analyzed to detect accessory gene regulatoragr(I-IV) and genes encoding resistance for methicillin (mecA), erythromycin (ermA), penicillin (blaZ) and vancomycin (vanA-B). All the strains were also analyzed to detect the presence of several genes, encoding corresponding virulence factors, by multiplex Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). Samples with Coagulase Positive Staphyloccoci (CPS) concentration ≥105cfu/g, were tested for SEs (A-D) production, in compliance with Reg. CE 2073/2005, using Reversed Passive Latex Agglutination (RPLA) kit. The isolates were also analyzed to investigate Pulsed-field Gel Electrophoresis (PFGE) type diversity.SAstrains showed resistance to Ampicillin (20.0%), Penicillin (19.0%), Tetracycline (6.0%) and Cloxacillin (1.0%), whereas they were susceptible (74.0%) to 12 out of 16 tested antimicrobial agents. The strains resulted resistant to the tested antibiotics harbored the correspondent encoding genes. The overall susceptibility of the strains to Oxacillin, Vancomycin and Erythromycin was confirmed by the absence of themecA, vanA-BandermA. The PFGE showed that 94 strains belonged to 35 different clusters (C1-C35) while 6 were untypable

REDUCED ACETYLCHOLINE-INDUCED CHANNEL ACTIVITY IN DYSTROPHIC MOUSE MYOTUBES
Single channel recording patch-clamp technique was used in the mouse to compare the acetylcholine (ACh)-induced channel behaviour between normal and dystrophic myotubes. While open time and slope conductance were equivalent, ACh-induced channel opening frequency was more than 4-fold reduced in dystrophic compared to normal myotubes. In addition, the steady-state phosphorylation of the ACh receptor (AChR), tested by immunoprecipitation of 32P-labeled cells, indicated that the α-subunit was more heavily phosphorylated in the dystrophic myotubes. We propose that the degree of α-subunit phosphorylation of the AChR, which parallels the reduced AChR-channel opening probability, determines desensitization of the AChR in dystrophic myotubes
La dimostrazione come specchio delle pratiche di insegnamento
Abstract
In this article we report some results from a research program aimed at describing the way secondary school teachers treat proof and at understanding which factors may influence such a treatment. We have carried out semi-structured interviews with secondary teachers. The audiotaped interviews were transcribed and analyzed, according to the qualitative research pattern. Emergent themes were identified and recorded. The study of the way the interviewed teachers deal with these themes allowed us to outline four profiles of teachers according to their declared practice
Macao prima e oltre i social media. La creazione dell'inatteso come logica di mobilitazione
In May 2012 a skyscraper was occupied in Milan by a group of artists and art workers which gathered around Macao, claiming a new role for art and culture in society. The paper investigates the role of digital communication practices in Macao's contentious action. Starting from an overview of the ongoing debate about the relationship between digital media and political protest, the contribution shows the eccentricity of Macao with respect to three already established analytical models: the logic of connective action (Bennett and Segerberg 2013), the concept of communicative cultures (Kavada 2012), and the logic of aggregation (Juris 2012). On the basis of the empirical analysis of media practices (Couldry 2012) together with the critical discourse analysis (Fairclough 1992) of the symbolic production of Macao, the article will propose the notion of «eventful logic» as a new pragmatic concept through which the strategies and the logics of collective action through social media can be satisfactorily explained
