Large-signal device simulation in time- and frequency-domain: a comparison

    No full text
The aim of this paper is to compare the most common time- and frequency-domain numerical techniques for the determination of the steady-state solution in the physics-based simulation of a semiconductor device driven by a time-periodic generator. The shooting and harmonic balance (HB) techniques are applied to the solution of the discretized drift-diffusion device model coupled to the external circuit embedding the semiconductor device, thus providing a fully nonlinear mixed mode simulation. The comparison highlights the strong and weak points of the two approaches, basically showing that the time-domain solution is more robust with respect to the initial condition, while the HB solution provides a more rapid convergence once the initial datum is close enough to the solution itsel

A new study on the Newell-Whitehead-Segel equation with Caputo-Fabrizio fractional derivative

In this research, we propose a new numerical method that combines with the Caputo-Fabrizio Elzaki transform and the q-homotopy analysis transform method. This work aims to analyze the Caputo-Fabrizio fractional Newell-Whitehead-Segel (NWS) equation utilizing the Caputo-Fabrizio q-Elzaki homotopy analysis transform method. The Newell-Whitehead-Segel equation is a partial differential equation employed for modeling the dynamics of reaction-diffusion systems, specifically in the realm of pattern generation in biological and chemical systems. A convergence analysis of the proposed method was performed. Two-dimensional and three-dimensional graphs of the solutions have been drawn with the Maple software. It is seen that the resulting proposed method is more powerful and effective than the Aboodh transform homotopy perturbation method and conformable Laplace decomposition method in the results. © 2024 the Author(s), licensee AIMS Press

Fabrizio De André e altri cantautori: Italia-Brasile in musica

    No full text
The Author wants to compare and find convergence points between Brazilian and Italian music. For Italy a more detailed look will be directed to the production of Fabrizio De André and particularly to the song Princesa, a sad story of marginalization, poverty and violence, in which a part quite considerable is written in portuguese. In De André lyrics there are often rhythms and references to latin-americans musical sounds.

    No full text
New rhetoric and the reading of the Italian classics. A reading of the Decameron with Fabrizio Frasnedi The contribution associates personal memories of Fabrizio Frasnedi with a scientific discussion, not only of his works, but also of the cultural setting in which they were produced. In particular, never completely distinguishing the man from the teacher, two rhetoric lessons held in Bologna by the author and Frasnedi are relived with the reader. Personal memory comes back to life in the didactic experience, in common critical predilections, in the mental library that allowed to recognize each other, even in the ever-changing field of literary criticism

Gli innesti di un impoetico. Sul Poema osceno di Ottiero Ottieri

    No full text
Poema osceno. Romanzo (1995), by O. Ottieri, an almost unclassifiable literary object composed by a mix of poetry, dramatic dialogue and narrative prose, is maybe the most ambitious (and certainly the most extended) among the last works of the author. The main model of Ottieri’s Poema, or at least his biggest source of ispiration, is the posthumous Petrolio (1992) by Pasolini. In both works we can observe the blurring of genres that Barthes has pointed out in his seminar entitled La Préparation du roman, identifying the main place of this phaenomenon (typical, by the way, of modernity) in the literary form of novel. This paper aims to highlight the particular kind of hybridization put in place in Ottieri’s Poema, and its connection with the psychological condition af the author, suffering from depression and alcoholism, but also the way in which, with an extreme self-awareness, Ottieri transforms his symptoms into stylistic traits. The author, moreover, in order to overcome the contradiction between obscenity and truth, comic and tragic, private and public dimension displayed in his work, calls to his rescue two great masters of hybridization: the Sade of the Philosophie dans le boudoir and, as a more exhibited source, the Dante of Vita nova.</p

The Author analyzes the Law no 81/2017, Chapter I, which contains rules to protect the "nonentrepreneurial" self-employed worker. First, the Author carries out a review of the contents of the provisions with particular reference to the requirement of adequate notice in case of withdrawal of the client, the prohibition of unilateral modification of the contract conditions, protection against late payments and the unlawful refusal of the contracting party to stipulate in writing the contract. The Author then concentrates his analysis on the provision against the so-called "abuse of economic dependence" and on the techniques of remedial action between nullity and compensation for damages. Brief reflections are dedicated to the new provisions for the protection of (fair) remuneration and on the nullity of vexatious clauses in favor of professionals in situations of alleged contractual disparity. Other observations concern the right to suspend the continuative relationship, the right of the working mother to be substituted, the rights of economic use of inventions and works of genius and some tax advantages and benefits in the market. The critical reading of the "statute" of self-employment highlights its strengths and limits. In conclusion, the new provisions do not seem to adequately differentiate the protections and, even for this reason, they do not correctly modulate the application of principle contained in art. 35 of the Constitution, being this attempt of integrated protection between civil and labor law clearly unbalanced in favor of the former
