    Milkfish is a leading commodity in Gresik Regency, not only because of the high demand but also the high interest in cultivating milkfish as well as the distinctive taste of meat and high nutritional value. Based on interviews with milkfish farmers in Ujung Pangkah District, it is known that the productivity of the milkfish pond has decreased from year to year. The decrease in productivity in fish farming can be caused by various factors, including decreased environmental carrying capacity and water quality. The liver is one of the important organs of higher organisms including fish, which functions to detoxify and secrete chemicals used for the digestive process. The liver plays a role in metabolic processes and the transformation of pollutants from the environment. So, in this study, histological analysis of the milkfish liver was carried out, among others, the aim of which was to determine the health status of milkfish. From the analysis, it is known that the liver tissue of the milkfish in the sampling location is in an unhealthy condition due to congestion, necrosis and tissue damage or loss of connective tissue

    Abstract Increased demand for food, especially rice, along with the increase of population in Indonesia. However, the carrying capacity of land for rice production is declining. Each land has different carrying capacity and characterization in optimizing rice production. Land carrying capacity in the form of natural resources (land, water, crops, and pest) as the main capital to manage the land in an integrated and efficient input. To optimize the carrying capacity of the land for increased production, each land has its own characterization or is called site-specific.The purpose of this research is to analyze the location of paddy cultivation system in a rainfed area with some growing system. The research was conducted in Wajik Village, Klitih Sub-Village, Lamongan Sub-district, Lamongan Regency, Indonesia, from February to June 2017 at Planting Season (PS II). This study used Randomized Block Design (RAK) with four treatments repeated three times. As the treatment is planting system by farmers, namely: System of rice of intensification (SRI) (t1); Jajar Legowo (t2); Hazton (t3); and Conventional (Control) (t4). The data obtained were analyzed using 5% significance level analysis. If there is a significant difference, follow-up test using Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) with 5% significance level. The results showed that there were significant differences in plant growth variables and number of seedlings at the beginning of the growth that was the highest significant difference in the hazton system, while at the end of the growth did not show any real difference. The yield variables showed significant differences in a number of productive tillers, panicle length, number of grains per panicle, number of seeds, the weight of dry grain harvest (t / ha), a weight of dried grain (t / ha), weight of 1000 grain seeds, and weight fresh stover. The Jajar legowo planting system shows an effective cropping system used in rain-fed fields during the second season (February to mei) compared to conventional systems and hazton systems. This is shown from the productivity of rice can reach 4.75 t / ha is significantly different from the conventional system and hazton system.     Koi fish, a popular freshwater ornamental fish with high economic value, is known for its attractive shape and color. Intensive cultivation of koi (Cyprinus rubrofuscus) using sistems such as Recirculatory Aquaculture Sistem (RAS) and aquaponics presents profitable business opportunities. However, land conversion for development reduces cultivation areas and water quality, necessitating innovations to ensure the sustainability of fish farming. The RAS sistem utilizes filters to recycle water, while aquaponics uses plant media for filtration. Research conducted from February 7 to March 19, 2024, at UD. Pojok Koi Farm, Gresik, East Java, aimed to compare koi growth under these two cultivation sistems. The results indicate that neither the aquaponics sistem nor RAS significantly affected koi length and survival, but both had an impact on weight gain and feed conversion ratio (FCR). Water quality, including pH, temperature, and DO, plays a crucial role in koi growth. pH and temperature remained within suitable ranges, while DO levels met the minimal requirements for koi in both sistems. Good water quality and effective filtration sistems support the growth and health of koi fish.Ikan koi, ikan hias air tawar yang populer dan bernilai ekonomis tinggi, memiliki keunggulan bentuk dan warna yang menarik. Budidaya ikan koi (Cyprinus rubrofuscus) secara intensif, seperti dengan sistem Recirculatyng Aquaculture Sistem (RAS) dan aquaponik, menawarkan peluang usaha yang menguntungkan. Namun, konversi lahan untuk pembangunan mengurangi area budidaya dan kualitas perairan, memerlukan inovasi untuk memastikan keberlanjutan budidaya ikan.  Sistem RAS memanfaatkan filter untuk mengolah kembali air, sedangkan aquaponik menggunakan media tanaman untuk filtrasi. Penelitian dilakukan dari 7 Februari hingga 19 Maret 2024 di UD. Pojok Koi Farm, Gresik, Jawa Timur, untuk membandingkan pertumbuhan ikan koi dengan kedua sistem budidaya ini.  Hasil menunjukkan bahwa sistem aquaponik dan RAS tidak mempengaruhi pertumbuhan panjang dan kelangsungan hidup ikan koi secara signifikan, tetapi berpengaruh pada pertumbuhan bobot dan rasio konversi pakan (FCR). Kualitas udara, yang mencakup pH, suhu, dan DO, berperan penting dalam pertumbuhan ikan koi. pH dan suhu tetap dalam kisaran yang sesuai, sementara DO di kedua sistem memenuhi kebutuhan minimal ikan koi.     Santri Organization is an intra-Islamic boarding school organization. Similar to OSIS in public schools, but there are many differences. The santri organization in the pesantren has a role compared to the OSIS in the school. At the Modern Islamic Boarding School Ummul Quro Al-Islami all these activities are controlled by the administrators of the Men's Santri Association (ISPA). Through these activities, it is hoped that students can develop self-discipline, improve morals, and can enrich and broaden their knowledge and skills. The formulation of the problem in this research is how is the management of student development through ISPA organizational activities?How are the activities of the ISPA organization at the Modern Islamic Boarding School Ummul Quro Al-Isalmi? How is the management of student development through ISPA organizational activities? While the purpose of this study was to determine the meaning and application of the management of student development through the activities of the ISPA organization at the Modern Islamic Boarding School Ummul Quro Al-Islami Leuwiliang, Bogor. The type of research that the author uses in this research is descriptive qualitative which explains thoroughly and in depth the results of the research conducted. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of observation, interviews and documentation. The object of this research is the management of the ISPA organization. From the results of this study, it was found that the management of santri development through the activities of the ISPA organization at the Modern Islamic Boarding School Ummul Quro Al-Islami used good management in fostering students. It can be seen by the implementation of four management functions, namely, planning, organizing, implementing and directing and five methods of coaching, namely, exemplary, attention, advice, habituation and rewards or punishments. And the activities of the ISPA organization at the Modern Islamic Boarding School Ummul Quro Al-Islami are going well, judging from the work program they have implemented

    Milkfish is a commodity with a high production rate. From the milkfish commodity, Gresik is the center of fishery production in East Java. Milkfish belongs to the herbivore group with the type of food from the plant group. Milkfish cultivation in traditional ponds still uses natural food as the main food for the cultivated commodities. Fish food affects the structure of the digestive tract, especially the intestines of fish. herbivorous fish have very long intestines even many times the body length, compared to omnivorous and carnivorous fish. Thus, this study aims to find out more clearly about the structure of the milkfish gut tissue. The digestive tract is related to the process of digestion, absorption and disposal of food waste, so it has an important role in the growth of fish. The research method used was descriptive experimental by making preparations of fish intestinal tissue and staining with Hematoxylin Eosin. The intestines of the fish observed were the front, middle and back. Observation of the preparations using a microscope with a dot slide scan photo. From the results of the study obtained an overview of the intestinal tissue structure of the upper (proximal), middle (middle) and lower (distal) fish.     Pearl oyster cultivation is a growing industry in various countries. The growth and quality of pearls produced by oysters is greatly influenced by the cultivation method used. This research aims to compare the growth of pearl oysters (Pinctada maxima) cultivated using the floating cage and longline methods. Different cultivation methods can influence the growth of pearl oysters and the surrounding environmental conditions. Statistical analysis was conducted on sample size, mean values, standard deviation, and standard error of the mean for both cultivation methods. The results indicate no significant difference in the growth of pearl oysters between the floating cage and longline methods. However, biofouling and other disrupting organisms can affect the growth of pearl oysters in the floating cage method. The study also highlights the importance of environmental factors such as water quality, temperature, and food availability in influencing the growth of pearl oysters. Thus, this research provides valuable insights for the pearl oyster cultivation industry in selecting the optimal cultivation method to enhance productivity and the quality of the pearls produced

    Wilayah Gresik, Jawa Timur, merupakan pusat budidaya ikan air tawar dan air payau, yang menghadapi permasalahan pencemaran mikroplastik akibat tingginya aktivitas industri dan domestik. Tingginya penggunaan plastik secara global menyebabkan tumpukan sampah plastik dalam berbagai ukuran mulai dari sampah utuh, potongan plastik, hingga mikroplastik. Beberapa penelitian menunjukkan pada beberapa ikan budidaya telah ditemukan cemaran mikroplastik seperti Ikan Mas (Cyprinus carpio), ikan Mola (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix), ikan Nila (Oreochromis niloticus). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis dan kelimpahan mikroplastik di tambak polikultur di Kecamatan Duduk sampeyan, Kabupaten Gresik, pada bulan Oktober 2024. Sampel diambil dari tiga desa yaitu desa Tambakrejo, Duduksameyan dan Samirplapandengan metode purposive sampling dan dianalisis menggunakan mikroskop stereo. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa jenis mikroplastik yang dominan adalah fiber (92,20%), disusul oleh filamen dan fragmen. Kelimpahan mikroplastik dengan jenis fiber tertinggi ditemukan di Desa Tambakrejo dan Desa Samirplapan, dengan total 41 partikel/ 250 mL air tambak budidaya. Temuan ini mengindikasikan tingginya kontaminasi mikroplastik di wilayah perairan budidaya, sehingga diperlukan sistem penyaringan di instalasi pengolahan air limbah dan regulasi ketat untuk mengendalikan pencemaran lebih lanjut.   &nbsp

    Effectiveness of Green Mussel Chitosan Supplement in Feed on the Growth of Vaname Shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei)

    White shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) is an important aquaculture commodity with production demand that continues to increase every year. The addition of chitosan from green mussel shells in feed can increase calcium availability, support the moulting process, and increase shrimp growth and survival. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of green mussel chitosan supplements on the growth and survival of vaname shrimp. This research consists of three stages, namely making chitosan nanoparticles from green mussel shells, making feed with various doses of chitosan nanoparticles (0%/A, 10%/B, 15%/C, and 20%/D), and cultivating vaname shrimp. Feed is made by mixing chitosan nanoparticles with commercial feed, then drying and crushing it into small crumbs. White vaname shrimp are kept in concrete ponds for 80 days, with water quality monitoring and regular measurements of growth in weight and length. Data shows that C treatment with a dose of 15% chitosan nanoparticles resulted in the highest growth in weight and length of vanamei shrimp, reaching an average weight of 12.58 grams and a length of 14.07 cm on the 80th day. Treatment C provides optimal growth compared to other treatments because chitosan accelerates the moulting process and exoskeleton mineralization. Water quality during the study, including a temperature of 29.99°C, pH 7.23, and ammonia content of 0.25 ppm, was within the tolerable range for shrimp growth
