The work proposes an exploration of the poetic production of Ana María Martínez Sagi (Barcelona, 1907 - Moià, Barcelona, 2000), with an emphasis on some of the intertextual references related to the body that are detected in her work. Through her writing, the author constructs an identity that transcends the imposed generic cultural construction, which we will analyze here from intertextuality conceived as a semiotic category and used as a hermeneutic paradigm. Without revisiting the theme of the creation of a personal and carnal pagan religion in Martínez Sagi’s poems, already analyzed in “‘De mi cuerpo a tu cuerpo’: el ímpetu del amor oscuro en la poesía de Ana María Martínez Sagi”, we delve into how her texts establish relationships with those of her contemporaries and other authors, which also allows us to reflect on the different stages of her creative trajectory.

Abstract. Obstacle effect on proximity, connectivity, and organization of spatial data calls for derivation of measures that enable quantifying their influence. Provision of such measures is valuable for ensuring an aware planning, analysis of obstacle impact on spatial data, and the consequent placement of crossings. This paper proposes quantifying obstacle influence via their impact on connectivity and aggregation of data. As the paper shows, the derived indices enable capturing the actual obstacle effect on spatial data while accommodating datasets with different level of complexity. The information and contribution of these indices are demonstrated and analyzed, and results show how the derived measures reflect changes in spatial data arrangement

El cuerpo herido, en Noche sobre el grito de Ana María Martínez Sagi

Our article reflects on the presence of the body in the latest poetry of Ana María Martínez Sagi (Barcelona, 1907 – Moià, Barcelona, 2000), focusing on the collection Noche sobre el grito, written in the years from 1955 to 1970 and published for the first time in 2019, in the unpublished section of the extensive anthology La voz sola (Sagi, 2019: 105-141) edited by Juan Manuel de Prada. It is necessary to point out that, to date, there are no studies or scientific commentary of Noche sobre el grito, a collection of poems that maintains a distance from the primary content of the other literary works by Martínez Sagi, that is, from love and the pain caused by its loss. After contextualizing the author and the book within the framework of the literary commitment, the poems of Noche sobre el grito will be classified into three thematic nuclei: the experience of death, the exile and the longed-for return, the chimera of a Spain that no longer exists. In each one of them, the language of the body will be analyzed as a means to express the author’s heterodoxy and her suffering due to the injustices of the Spanish civil war, the dictatorship, the exile and the disappointment when she comes back to her country. Finally, with a quick look at each of her collections of poems, from Camino (1929) to La voz sola (2019), a final assessment will be proposed about the presence of corporeal elements in Noche sobre el grito and in the other works of Martínez Sagi.

REGISTRATION OF TERRESTRIAL LASER SCANS VIA IMAGE BASED FEATURES

    No full text
The complexity of natural scenes and the amount of information acquired by terrestrial laser scanners turns the registration among scans into a complex problem. This problem becomes even more complex when considering the relatively low angular resolution of terrestrial scanner compared to images, the monotonicity of manmade surfaces that makes the detection of corresponding objects difficult, and the lack of structure of vegetated objects that makes the detection of meaningful features difficult. Since most modern scanners are accompanied with consumer cameras of relatively high quality, it stands to reason making use of the image content for the registration process. Such alternative will benefit from the large body of image based registration work that has been carried out for several decades and therefore has the potential of providing an alternative and simple approach for the registration of pairs and multiple scans simultaneously. In this paper, we study the registration of terrestrial scans via image-based information. For this purpose, we propose an efficient autonomous model that supports the registration of multiple scans. Following the presentation of the model, we analyze its application to outdoor, complex scenes, ones that are common to find in actual laser scanning projects. 1

An Efficient Algorithm for the Synthesis of Laser Altimetry Waveforms

Airborne and spaceborne laser ranging is an emerging technology for capturing data on physical surfaces. An ever increasing number of applications takes advantage of the dense sampling, the high accuracy, and the direct way to obtain 3-D surface points that characterizes laser ranging methods. Most laser altimeters estimate the range to the terrain surface by measuring the round-trip time of flight of a short laser pulse. Laser systems are suitable sensors for rapid surface reconstruction since surface points can easily be computed from the measured range, and from the position and altitude measurements. The small illuminated footprint size and the high precision time measurements ensure reliable ranging and sub-dm vertical range resolution even from orbital altitudes. The heart of the laser system is the laser ranging. The accuracy of the timing (or ranging) performance is governed by the characteristics of the laser system and terrain surface, as well as the waveform processing. Closed form expression describing the shape of the return waveform have been derived only for simple cases, such as flat or uniformly sloping terrain (Gardner, 1982). Laser altimetry simulators are developed to explore the relationship between the altimeter's design, performance and terrain characteristics for more complex surface topography. The Laser altimetry Simulator developed at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (Abshire et al., 1984) provides a mean for computing the receiver waveform for user defined, arbitrary two-dimensional (height versus along track distance) terrain geometry and for a few, simple 3-D surface types. To investigate the performance of laser systems over complex topography we developed a 3D space-time laser altimetry simulator, which we call Byrd Polar Research Center (BPRC) simulator. This report describes the BPRC simulator. First a brief description of laser altimeter systems is presented followed by the discussion of the characteristics of the returned laser pulse shape for simple surfaces and ranging schemes. The algorithm implemented in the BPRC simulator for waveform computation is summarized in the third chapter. Returned waveforms are presented and compared with results obtained by the NASA/GSFC simulator in the last, fourth chapter

Extraction of Objects from Terrestrial Laser Scans by Integrating Geometry Image and Intensity Data with Demonstration on Trees

Terrestrial laser scanning is becoming a standard for 3D modeling of complex scenes. Results of the scan contain detailed geometric information about the scene; however, the lack of semantic details still constitutes a gap in ensuring this data is usable for mapping. This paper proposes a framework for recognition of objects in laser scans; aiming to utilize all the available information, range, intensity and color information integrated into the extraction framework. Instead of using the 3D point cloud, which is complex to process since it lacks an inherent neighborhood structure, we propose a polar representation which facilitates low-level image processing tasks, e.g., segmentation and texture modeling. Using attributes of each segment, a feature space analysis is used to classify segments into objects. This process is followed by a fine-tuning stage based on graph-cut algorithm, which considers the 3D nature of the data. The proposed algorithm is demonstrated on tree extraction and tested on scans containing complex objects in addition to trees. Results show a very high detection level and thereby the feasibility of the proposed framework
