The following article explains how Western ideologies become major factor of conflicts and failures in the Middle East. In this paper the author looks from the perspective of ideological hegemony. Ideology undermines the political and economic systems that cause social inequality and accelerate the outbreak of conflict in the Middle East. The author raised Syria and Libya as examples to prove the factors that led to the conflict. The author argues that the main cause of the Middle East conflict is the influence of Western ideology that cannot be accepted by government in power or even the people, so that it triggers conflicts and even war. Democracy which is an accepted model in various countries cannot be applied in the Middle East. The author also criticized the failure of democracy implementation and liberal economies in the Middle East

The Holy Qur’an is a miracle revealed to Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Salam, that not only discusses elements on beliefs but at the same time, it is compact with some absolutely amazing scientific facts. There are many verses that discuss the description of the scientific facts in the holy Quran. Among the scientific facts found in the holy Quran is the verse that deals with the concept of energy sources such as biodiesel which is found in Yas eenverse 80. However, the interpretation of this verse according to academicians of the past has been from a different perspective. Findings in the biodiesel field by modern scientists have opened a new chapter in the interpretation related to the biodiesel concept found in the holy Qur’an. This study will analyze the opinion of the Arab-Islamic scholars in the interpretation of this verse from the perspective of Islamic code and Arabic lexicography. Furthermore, this discussion will be conducted to examine the relationship of this verse with the concept of biodiesel from the perspective of modern science. The results of the experiments that have been conducted showing that the am ount of energy that results from the reaction of plants, solvents and catalysts to produce biodiesel which is one of the potential of alternative energy sources to replace conventional fuels. The formation of the chemical structure of biodiesel produced from the breakdown of triglyceride structure ( i.e oil from gree plants) that reacts with hydroxide ions and produce three molecules of fatty acid methyl esters FAME(i.e biodiesel ) and one molecule of glycerol . It shows that green elements found in plant s is an energy element . It is hoped that this study will open up new perspectives on the interpretation of the verse that relates to the concept of biodiesel in holy Quran based on scientific facts. Indirectly, it also proves that the holy Quran is the revelation of God and not the invention of Prophet Muhammad

IT and education, the case study of e-learning in Indonesia

    Get PDF
E-learning in Indonesia began in mid-nineties with the advent of internet preceded by information technology introduction to Indonesia in late 70s and early 80s. However, those e-learning initiators hit hard by the economic and political crises which hit Indonesia in 1997s until early 21st century. Beginning the year 2000, many organizations took the initiatives to conduct e-learning in their environments, in spite of the economic crises. Based on a survey towards about 60 e-learning sites, the author found some constraints. First, the infrastructure which does not support the learning. Out of 223 million people., only 20 million own fixed telephone facilities, a must-prerequisite to access remote e-learning facilities. Using the cellular phones for internet connection is out of question as it is very expensive; on the other hand the Internet subscriber in Indonesia is limited. In 2004 there are 1,3 million internet subscribers with 14 million users. Second, on content management. Although the majority of e-learning operators are higher education institutions, there is no standard in the contents. While the contents are aimed to university students, the contents are not always reaching the academic intellectual standards. Third, there is no coordination in conducting the e-learning. The pre- and post Soeharto presidency (1998) marked the paradigm from centralized to decentralized university administration. The Directorate General of Higher Education (DGHE) which was once the regulator now is the facilitator on higher education affairs. The results is not a chaos, but an uncoordinated efforts toward e-learning. In certain universities, each department established its own e-learning facilities without bothering other departments’ efforts, let alone at the at the national level. Fourth, the cultural factors. Indonesian in general prefer talking over writing, the result of oral tradition legacy, prefer attending the lecture over self-study. Hence Indonesian students prefer to communicate or interact directly with other students and or lecturer than to communicate in a virtual way as commonly found in e-learning. What needed by Indonesia are the better coordination among e-learning operators, the grand strategy of e-learning as dictated by the higher level of decision makers and making e-learning not as e-learning itself, but as a tool to equip students to stay up to date, information technology literate and to be competitive, in a flexible way

Background and Purpose: Zakat aims at alleviating poverty through the equitable dissemination of wealth and the fostering of a prosperous Muslim community. To fulfil zakat divine objectives, zakat distribution issues in the contemporary system must be properly identified and discussed to safeguard the welfare of both zakat recipients and zakat payers. This study focuses on uncovering the publication trend in the zakat distribution field. In addition, this study explores the most influential source titles      and publications.  Lastly, this study also examines the profiling of author themes in zakat distribution research, its evolution and the co-occurrence of the themes. Methodology: This study conducted bibliometric analysis using biblioMagika® and VOSViewer. The Scopus database serves as the primary data source. OpenRefine, was used to clean, harmonize, and transform unstructured Scopus data that corrects discrepancies in English, including synonyms, spellings, and plural. The analysis on the publication trend, source title, publication and authors theme was performed using biblioMagika®. VOSviewer software is subsequently employed in the study to identify the co-occurrence and clusters of the themes. Findings: 136 publications were included in the study after screening, cleaning and harmonization process. It is found that the number of publications and citations fluctuates between the year 2011 and 2025. The highest publications were in the year 2024, while the highest citations were in the year 2020. Jurnal Pengurusan is the most influential source title, while “Zakat Institutions in Malaysia: Problems and Issues” is the most cited publication in the study.  The analysis using biblioMagika® reveals that “zakat”, “zakat distribution”, “asnaf”, “zakat institutions” and “Malaysia” are the author themes stated in more than 10 publications. “Zakat”, “zakat distribution” and “asnaf” are influential and well-established themes with over two hundred citations. These themes are viewed as mature and ongoing, with most related research published around the year 2018. The network visualisation map depicts that “zakat”, “zakat distribution”, and “asnaf” are closely connected to each other, with “zakat” listed as the core topic in zakat distribution studies. The VOSviewer further clustered the themes into eight clusters, each consisting of between three and seven themes that construct a research structure. Contributions: The review provides information on the evolution of the authors’ theme in zakat distribution, which provides future insights into zakat distribution issues. Keywords: Zakat distribution, bibliometric, author themes, temporal and citation impact, cluster visualization. Cite as: Ahmad, S., Wan Jusoh, W. N. H., Mustaffa, N. M., Adnan, A. A Low Temperature And Pressure Methanol Synthesis

    Get PDF
Researchers and industrial practitioners have been discussed a lot about methanol synthesis nowadays. This is because due to the high demand of methanol itself in processing formaldehyde, chloromethanes, amines, acetic acid, MTBE and methyl methacrylate. In addition of that, currently methanol synthesis using syngas has attracted this researchers and industrial practitioner since it involving greenhouse gas which is CO2. Methanol synthesis reaction is an exothermic reaction. Researchers are still trying to find a way to lower down the operating conditions (e. g temperature and pressure) because of controlling the temperature inside the reactor is difficult. Besides, high operating conditions may deactivate the catalyst, thus lowering down the CO conversion, yield and not less may lowering down the selectivity of methanol. Since that sulphur free synthesis gas has been able to produce, Cu-based catalyst, a more active catalyst can be used and a low pressure and temperature methanol synthesis is more feasible. The study on low temperature methanol synthesis using 2-butanol has been successful and currently been applied in big scale. However, there is still no well-establish study on low temperature and pressure using aromatics solvent as catalytic solvent, thus gain the author interest to study on this matter. In the first semester, the author come out with some theory about how methanol is produced after done some deep research. The project continued in the second semester with catalyst preparing, catalyst characterization, run methanol synthesis reaction in a three phase reactor and samples analysis. In this project, two aromatics solvents (toluene and xylene) is use in the process of synthesizing methanol at temperature of 150 - 200°C and pressure of 20 bar. Percentage of total carbon conversion and yield will be observed as well as the selectivity at the end of this projec
