    No full text
One of the ways authors express literary works is through the use of language styles. Language style has a function that can influence the reader which can make the reader interested in what the author conveys. This research is entitled "Language Style in the novel Big Plan to Die with Calm by Wisnu Suryaning Adji". The purpose of this study is to describe the use of style in hyperbole, irony, and personification in the novel The Great Plan to Die with Tranquility by Wisnu Suryaning Adji. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive. Based on the results of the study, the author uses hyperbolic language style to emphasize excess, describe emotional tension, create dramatic effects, give an impression of humor. The use of ironic language styles for the contrast between hope and reality, dissatisfaction and frustration, social criticism, emotional reflection, and gives a more complex layer of meaning. Using his own personification language style, the author aims to bring objects and concepts to life, create an emotional impression, add aesthetic beauty to the novel Big Plan to Die with Tenang by Wisnu Suryaning Adji.93 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

    No full text
The purpose of this research are: (1) to obtain spline function estimation in non parametric regression for longitudinal data with and without considering the autocorrelation between data of observation within subject, (2) to develop the algorithm that generates simulation data with certain autocorrelation level based on size of sample (N) and error variance (EV), and (3) to establish shape of spline estimator in non parametric regression for longitudinal data to simulation with various level of autocorrelation, as well as compare DM and TM approaches in predicting spline estimator in the data simulation with different of autocorrelation observational data on within subject. The results of the application are as follows: (a) implementation of smoothing spline with penalized weighted least square (PWLS) approach with or without consideration of autocorrelation in general (in all sizes and all error variances levels) provides significantly different spline estimator when the autocorrelation level >0.8; (b) based on size comparison, spline estimator in non parametric regression smoothing spline with PLS approach with (DM), or without (DM) consideration of autocorrelation showed significantly different result in level of autocorrelation > 0.8 (in overall size, moderate and large sample size), and > 0.7 (in small sample size); (c) based on level of variance, spline estimator in non parametric regression smoothing spline with PLS approach with (DM), or without (DM) consideration of autocorrelation showed significantly different result in level of autocorrelation > 0.8 (in overall level of variance, moderate and large variance), and > 0.7 (in small variance)

Circulation of Orhan Pamuk’s Benim Adim Kirmizi [my name is red] in contemporary Chinese-Indonesian literature

    No full text
This article is an exploration of contemporary Turkish and Chinese-Indonesian literatures with regards to a mid to late 18th Century literary niche: the it-narrative. Thinking (noesis) back and forth between centuries and different literary genres makes (poiesis) the conversation possible, which addresses the socio-literary imagination of the last four centuries. The authors re- examine the genre of it-narrative outside 18th Century studies and reassess the encounter of Turkish author Orhan Pamuk and Chinese-Indonesian author Alberta Natasia Adji within the socio-cultural and historico-political context of modern Turkey and Indonesia. The question is how Pamuk’s use of prosopopoeia in his 1998 novel Benim Adım Kırmızı [My Name is Red] influences Adji’s decision to use the 18th Century it-narratives in her 2019 short story I am Her Bracelet

This article discusses a surrealist short story. The approach used in this study is Pierce's semiotics approach, which is to discuss the signs in the short story anthology entitled "A Piece of Dusk for My Girl" by Seno Gumira Adji Darma. These signs have a certain meaning / significance closely related to the community system. The sign can be seen from the use of the language used. The signs that exist in literary works must be revealed to find out the message to be conveyed by the author. This study aims to determine the relationship between the sign with the reference based on the nature of the ground, (1) Sinsign, (2) Qualisign, and (3) Legisign. With semiotics, readers can capture the message or intent of a short story that is not clearly displayed by the author. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. This article examines the trilogy that exists in the short story anthology entitled A Twilight Piece for My Boyfriend, Answer Alina, Postman in a total of 41 pages. In the shorts story trilogy, researches found 21 interrelated signs. The sign is examined with Pierce’s semiotics it becomes a series of meaningful stories so that the message can be clearly known

Comparison of Parameter Estimator Efficiency Levels of Path Analysis with Bootstrap and Jack Knife (Delete-5) Resampling Methods on Simulation Data

    No full text
In practice, the assumptions of normality are often not met, this causes the estimation of the resulting parameters to be less efficient. Problems with the assumption that normality is not met can be overcome by resampling. The use of resampling allows data to be applied free from distribution assumptions. In this study, a simulation study was carried out by applying bootstrap resampling and jackknife resampling (delete-5) on path analysis assuming that the normality of the alignment was not met and the resampling amount set at 1000 with the degree of closeness between variables consisting of low closeness, medium closeness, high closeness and closeness level representing the level low to high closeness. Based on the simulation results, the resampling 1000 magnitude is able to overcome the problem of the assumptions of unmet normality. In addition, a comparison between bootstrap and jackknife resampling for conditions of side normality assumptions is not fulfilled and the closeness of the relationship between low, medium, high and closeness variables representing low to high closeness levels, the estimation results of path analysis parameters obtained by resampling jackknife are more efficient than resampling bootstrap

    No full text
The research objectives are as follows: (1) Develop a solid structural model assuming normality and homoscedasticity. (2) Obtain the property estimator of the flexible and robust SFAM structural model. (3) Obtaining hypothesis testing of each relationship built from the flexible and strong SFAM structural model. This research is integrated with a flexible and robust modeling approach based on nonparametric smooth spline regression analysis (RNSS) that can capture the shape and robustness of relationships dependent on empirical data. There are at least three transformation methods namely SRS, MSI and RASCH that will be used in SFAM development. The results obtained are the development of a flexible structural model in the form of relationships between variables and a robust structural model from the two assumptions, then the estimator properties and hypothesis testing of each relationship are built from the two models. The authenticity of this research is very evident in the discovery of a new model, namely SFAM that can accommodate various things, which are the weaknesses of various existing analytical tools such as recursive and recursive models, more than one endogenous variable, flexible and strong models
