    Practicum Learning Techniques in Brassica chinensis Pesticide Contamination Test on UISU FKIP Biology Students 2018-2019

    The research test was carried out at the Biology Laboratory FKIP UISU. The study design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatment tests and five replications, as a comparison of each treatment test used control.This study aims to determine the content of pesticides in Brassica chinensis in Medan city markets, whether pesticides are contaminated or not, and to determine student learning outcomes in biochemical subjects in additives and contaminants in food.In this study, the mortality of C. binotalis larvae was observed in each treatment test, starting from observations on Brassica chinensis leaf samples taken from control, then on Brassica chinensis leaf samples taken from Sambas market, Simpang Limun market, Halat market, and market Like Crowded. Observations were made at 6, 12, 24, 48, and 72 hours after application. The area of leaf damage was observed after 72 hours of application in each treatment test. Likewise, larval weight gain was calculated after 72 hours of application.After 72 hours of treatment test, the highest larval mortality occurred in Brassica chinensis samples taken from the crowded market at 6.22%, with the lowest larval weight gain of 570 mg, and with the least area of leaf damage that was 1,169 mm2. While the lowest larval mortality after 72 hours of treatment test occurred in Brassica chinensis samples taken from the control at 0.89%, with the highest larval weight gain of 588.8 mg, and with the most extensive leaf damage area of 5,486.3 mm2.Before conducting biochemical learning on material additives and contaminants in food to students, a pre-test was made to students, and the average value of student learning outcomes during the pre-test was 60.26 with a standard deviation of 10.09. Whereas after the learning material has been submitted and conducted a post test the average value of student learning outcomes has increased by 74.85 with a standard deviation of 6.25

    This study aims to: 1) recognize fruit flies (Drosophila melanogaster), 2) morphologically distinguish adult fruit fly sex, 3) study the growth of fruit fly populations. The practicum was held on August 20, 2019 in the Biology Education Laboratory FKIP UISU. The working principle of practicum is making food as a medium for fruit fly culture (a mixture of bananas, cassava tape, benzoate), etherization and observation, observing the growth of fruit fly populations. Observations were made by counting the number of live flies and dead flies, the sex ratio of flies. Observations were carried out every day, for 15 days (20 August 2019 - 3 September 2019). The results of the analysis show that: 1) population growth of Drosophila melanogaster includes logistic growth models with S-shaped curves, 2) sex of adult fruit flies can be morphologically distinguished through body size, abdominal shape, genital comb and external genital organs in the abdomen. Based on the results and discussion, the following conclusions are obtained: 1) fruit flies including insects undergoing perfect metamorphosis (egg phase, larvae, pupa, imago), 2) differences in adult fruit fly sex can be seen from body size, abdomen shape, presence of genital comb, external genital organs in the abdomen, 3) population growth of fruit flies including logistic growth models in the form of S curves, influenced by environmental factor

    Komunitas Makrozoobentos di Aek Hisa, Aek Doras, dan Aek Sigeon Kecamatan Lintong Ni Huta Tapanuli Utara

    Penelitian Tentang Komunitas Makrozzobentos pada Aek Hisa, Aek Doras, dan Aek Sigeon di Kecamatan Lintong Ni Huta Tapanuli Utara telah dilakukan dari bulan Oktober sampai dengan November 1994. Makrozoobentos yang didapatkan pada Aek Hisa terdiri dari 701 individu dari 18 Fmili dari 8 Ordo. Pada Aek Doras ditemukan 652 individu dari 15 famili dari 5 Ordo dan pada Aek Sigeon ditemukan 736 individu dari 24 Famili dari 11 ordo, Kepadatan dan Kepadatan Relatif hewan bentos yang tertinggi dari ketiga strata itu adalah Diptera kemudian diikutiTrichoptera. Komposisi Genus Makrozoobentos Aek Hisa dengan Aek Doras, Aek Hisa dengan Aek Sigeon tidak berbeda nyata, tetapi antara Aek Doras dengan Aek Sigeon berbeda nyata pada P = 0,01.     This study aims to determine the growth and yield production of 2 spinach variety on fertilizers application. The design used was split plot design with the first factor is spinach variety namely V1 and V2 and the second factor is the provision fertilizer namely P1 and P2. Variables measured result were growth persentation, plant height, number of leaf, planting leaf weight, planting root weight, planting steam weight.     Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed.     This research was conducted to investigate the production and growth response of cucumber with adopted of cow manure and supernasa solid fertilizer in the field trials of Agricultural Faculty of North Sumatera Muhammadiyah University, altitude of 27 m above sea level with a factorial randomized, block design with two treatment factors were manure factor (K) in 3 rate treatments is 0; 3,6; 7,2 kg/plotting notated as K0, K1, K2. While the second factors were supernasa solid fertlizer (S) in 4 rate treatments is 0; 2,7; 5,4; 8,1 gr/plotting notated as S0, S1, S2, S3. Variables measured were plant height, fruit height, fruit diameter, planting fruit weight and number of fruit crops. The result of the reseach was 7,2 kg/plotting cow manure has significant effect on the variables plant height ang fruit height but werent significant for another variables. Provision of 8,1 gr/plotting supernasa solid fertilizer has significant effect on the variables fruit height, fruit diameter and planting fruit weight, but werent significant for another variables.     “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
