Kaedah Visual dan Penggolongan Makna Akhiran -an {an}
Pedagogical studies in the morphology of Malay language have long been conducted since the 19th century. In this regard, Boer (1951), is his grammatical work, has summarized the classification of the meaning of the suffix -an {-an} into three major groups. However, this work is hardly noticed by local researchers. Since the 1980s, the results of the analyses of the meaning of the suffix concerned have been presented in detail in Indonesia and Malaysia. The author has compared three Malay-language works, namely Asmah (2009), Harimurti (1996), and Nik Safiah et al. (2010). However, the various meanings of the suffixes concerned are not related to each other, and even the examples given are sometimes inconsistent. This article used a logical rearrangement of the classification of meaning and introduces four classifications of the meaning of the suffix -an {-an} along with basic mathematical ideas as their auxiliaries, namely: I. "set unit"; II. "similarity"; III. "something related with the process of action", and; IV. "the influence of tribal languages in Indonesia". With this classification, the relationship between the various meanings of the suffix -an {-an} could be clarified easily. The method used by this foreign researcher is the result of foreign students who are learning Malay language in order to ease the burden of memorization through dictionary and textbook grammar. "keserupaan", III. "sesuatu yang berkaitan dengan proses perbuatan", dan IV. "pengaruh bahasa sukuan di Indonesia". Dengan penggolongan ini, hubungan antara pelbagai makna akhiran -an {-an} dapat diperjelas dengan mudah. Kaedah yang diusahakan oleh pengkaji asing ini merupakan hasil pembelajaran pelajar asing yang belajar bahasa Melayu untuk meringankan beban hafalan melalui kamus dan tatabahasa buku teks
Self-managed learning of myVLE via CBT courseware
Open University Malaysia (OUM) is an open and distance learning institution which provides opportunities for lifelong
learning. OUM continuously strives to improve and maintain quality programme delivery in the attempt to produce quality
graduates. OUM has been using its own in-house developed learning management system called myVLE (my Virtual
Learning Environment) to support lifelong learning undertakings. Since 2002, myVLE has gone through minor
enhancements. In late 2013, a new platform was designed and developed with the aim for a more user-friendly learning
environment besides providing an optimised online learning experience. The new version of the myVLE was released in
January 2014, to be used only for six fully online courses. In September 2014, all courses offered by OUM were migrated
to the new myVLE. With the migration and the introduction to the new functions of the new myVLE, it was necessary to
make efforts to provide additional support to the learners and online facilitators for a smooth transition. To assist users in
adapting to a new user-interface several incentives were taken which include: (a) the development of a learning
courseware, (b) short online video clips, and (c) face-to-face training for online facilitators. This paper focuses on the
development and use of the learning courseware which was instructionally designed based on ADDIE model. (Abstract by author

Author Correction: Burdens of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease attributable to sugar-sweetened beverages in 184 countries (Nature Medicine, (2025), 10.1038/s41591-024-03345-4)
Correction to: Nature Medicinehttps://doi.org/10.1038/s41591-024-03345-4, published online 6 January 2025. In the version of the article initially published, in the eighth paragraph of the Discussion, the text “Among large nations, the largest increases in SSB-related T2D burdens were in Mexico, Thailand and the United Kingdom, and in CVD burdens, Colombia, Nigeria, Thailand and Russia. These changes align with rises in SSB consumption in these nations12. Similarly, declining SSB-related cardiometabolic burdens in Brazil, the United States and the United Kingdom (for CVD) are consistent with their decreasing SSB consumption from 1990 to 202012” was incorrect and has now been updated to “Among largely populated nations, the largest increases in SSB-related T2D incidence was in Colombia, USA and Argentina; and in CVD incidence, Nigeria, Russia, Colombia and Thailand. These changes generally align with rises in SSB consumption in these nations, except in the US where slight declines in SSB consumption were offset by increased burdens of diabetes 12. Similarly, declining SSB-related cardiometabolic burdens in Turkey, Brazil, and the United States and the United Kingdom for CVD are consistent with their decreasing SSB consumption from 1990 to 202012.” Additionally, Supplementary Data 1 and 2 have been updated to remove decimals in values greater than 100. These corrections have been made to the HTML and PDF versions of the article. © The Author(s) 2025
