THE URGENCY OF DIGITAL LITERACY SKILLS FOR EDUCATORS TO FACE GLOBAL CHALLENGES IN SOCIETY 5.0 ERA
The development of technology has had a significant impact on various sectors, especially in the field of Education. Where teachers can develop their competencies in the digital field. However, with the advancement of technology, teachers are expected to be able to operate various learning platforms and select and choose the information that is well-received in the era of open information. So in the Society 5.0 era, one of the important skills that teachers must have is digital literacy. The method used in this research is a literature study. The collection and analysis of references through various literature related to digital literacy and the Society 5.0 era. The research results show that digital literacy plays a crucial role in supporting learning activities. Therefore, improving digital literacy competencies is highly needed to face various challenges in the field of education in the Society 5.0 era
AI-Powered Education: Exploring the Potential of Personalised Learning for Students' Needs in Indonesia Education
Artificial intelligence (AI) stands out as a relatively new yet rapidly expanding technological tool that is transforming the field of education. This paper examines the potential of Artificial Intelligence to assist students and teachers in personalised learning. The research methodology employed for this study is a literature review, providing an overview of the current knowledge on practical AI applications for personalised learning and insights into methodological developments in this research field. Based on the literature, the results of this research demonstrate that personalised learning effectively accommodates students' learning preferences and enhances academic performance. Therefore, it could significantly benefit students by accommodating their learning pace and style. In the Indonesian education system context, the integration of AI for personalised learning is already included in the Indonesia Artificial Intelligence National Plan framework. To support this plan, the authors employed a Personalized Learning Plan (PLP) to integrate AI into educational settings practically. However, a challenge in integrating AI into education for personalised learning is that course or class designers often pay insufficient attention to creating content that develops practical skills. This neglect of pedagogical and technical aspects has led students and teachers to perceive these systems as unresponsive to their learning preferences, fostering a sense of pessimism.
Book review: Online postgraduate education: re-imagining openness, ditance and interaction
“Online Postgraduate Education: Re-imagining Openness, Distance, and Interaction,” authored by Katharine Stapleford and Kyungmee Lee, is an insightful exploration into the evolving landscape of postgraduate education facilitated by online platforms. The book delves into the themes of openness, distance, and interaction, presenting a comprehensive analysis of how these elements are being redefined in the context of online education. By addressing both theoretical perspectives and practical implementations, Stapleford and Lee offer a valuable resource for educators, administrators, and policymakers seeking to understand and improve online postgraduate education
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
Sentiment Analysis on Marketplace in Indonesia using Support Vector Machine and Naïve Bayes Method
This research addresses the challenges of marketplace customer feedback, which is an important aspect in today's era of online transactions. Marketplaces often receive many unsatisfactory comments from their customers through social media platforms. One approach that can be used to address this is sentiment analysis. This research contributes new insights as recommendations for marketplaces based on customer opinions on available services and delivery. The sentiment analysis methods used are Naive Bayes and Support Vector Machine because they are considered the best methods in training text-based classification models. Before being classified, the data goes through preprocessing stages such as cleaning, case folding, filtering, stemming, and tokenizing, as well as feature extraction stages using Term Frequency - Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF). The objects analyzed are divided into several well-known marketplaces in Indonesia such as Tokopedia, Lazada, and Shopee in discussing services and delivery of goods. The data used in this study comes from Twitter (X) social media accessed on August 27, 2023, using crawling techniques and successfully obtained as much as 2057 Tweet data. The best accuracy is obtained in the SVM method when compared to the Naive Bayes method. Words obtained based on service talks include price, service, application service, feedback, independence, and others. As for the delivery of goods, common words such as COD, delivery, package, courier, cheap, price, and others appear. Both methods used have good accuracy and can be recommended for use in similar research
