Projecting Pakistan Population with a Bayesian Hierarchical approach
UN has generated projections for demographic components for all countries of the world deterministically before revising the methodology and recently started to generate probabilistic projections at national level , but regional/sub national level trajectories are yet to be generated. In this thesis, probabilistic projections for total fertility rate (TFR) , life expectancy at birth for males and females and population totals at national as well as regional level have been generated based on Bayesian Hierarchical modeling approach. The trajectories were also generated for variable number of countries and it was observed that continent based trajectories were enough to model the future pattern instead of going for entire globe data. This in result saves time and decreases the influence of developed world demographic pattern on developing world and vise versa. TFR results were compared based on different values of , (i.e., values less than and more than 2.1, which is the ultimate level of replacement) and with the trajectories generated based on Bayesian Hierarchical modeling approach for phase III. For values greater than 2.0, the trajectories were taking long time to converge to replacement level than for smaller values. On the other hand trajectories of Life Expectancy have revealed significant gap between male and female projections at national as well as regional level. It was also observed that Balochistan region has lower life expectancy at birth than the rest of the regions of Pakistan. The trajectories for Population totals were generated based on the probabilistic TFR and life expectancy trajectories. The results revealed a total population of over 207 million at national level which nearly coincides with the recently released provisional figures of census. Furthermore, the results are significantly different from previously adopted deterministic results and could be a good substitute over classical deterministic approaches
A critical analysis of Christian responses to Islamic claims about the work of the Prophet Muhammad, ‘the Messenger of God’.
The aims of this study are to analyse critically the different Christian responses to the Islamic understanding of the work of Muhammad. Chapter one consists a short introduction leading to an appraisal of Muhammad which incorporates historical, hagiographal and Quranic source material, and in the light of relevant Christian and Muslim scholarship. The second chapter presents a summary critical analysis of Muhammad in Christian theological perspective, from 661 A.D. to modern times. Chapter three presents a critique of Christian responses to the Muslim allegations that the text of the Bible has been infected with corruption; and that Muhammad's advent and status are foretold in the unadulterated' scriptures, and in the Gospel of Barnabas. Chapter four examines the theological significance of the work of Muhammad for Christians. Thus, Jesus and Muhammad are critically assessed and contrasted in order to ascertain the importance, for Christians, of the Muslim claims in respect of Muhammad as ’the messenger of God’. Chapter five provides a critical evaluation of the various Christian responses to Muhammad. It is argued that many of the said responses have been entangled in myths and misperceptions which have severely distorted the true account of Muhammad's work. Consequently, many Christians have failed to appreciate the divine legitimacy of Muhammad's call to prophethood. Further, it is argued that Christians should accept that Muhammad is a genuine prophet, and the messenger of God. However, Muhammad's use of the power-structure in order to maintain Islam is in sharp contrast to Jesus’ decision to face the consequences of his ministry passively through faith in God. Accordingly, orthodox Christian belief in the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus provides another dimension to prophethood, where the messenger and the message become one, an identification which finds no parallel in Islam, and which, in the nature of the case, cannot find a parallel
And Muhammad is His messenger = und Muhammad ist sein Prophet
This book is the fruit of an interest in the figure of the Prophet of Islam that has developed over more than four decades. I was first introduced to and deeply moved by the concept of the "mystical Muhammad" when I was a teenager, busying myself with the study of Arabic under the guidance of Dr. Hans Ellenberg. During those formative years, the books of Syed Ameer Ali "The Life and Teachings of Muhammad, or The Spirit of Islam", and Tor Andrae's masterful study "Die person Muhammads in lehre und glaube seiner gemeinde" were among my favorites, and Andrae's book remains a source of inspiration to this day. This books contains of:1. Biographical and Hagiographical Notes2. Muhammad the Beautiful Model3. Muhammad's Unique Position4. Legends and Miracles5. Muhammad the Intercessor, and the Blessings upon Him6. The Names of the Prophet7. The Light of Muhammad and the Mystical Tradition8. The Celebration of the Prophet's Birthday9. Mosque as a multifunctional institution: an evaluation of users' perception on two community mosques in Malaysia / Muhammad Fakhar Muhammad Nur
A community mosque IS an important facility located within the Malaysian neighbourhood. It is a place for the Muslim community to gather for the purpose of worship and as a community development centre. The research attempts to gain an understanding on the multiplicity of function of a community mosque through users feedback on visitation, usage trend, and their evaluation on the spatial conditions of the community mosque. The research employed a mixed methodology approach which combines qualitative and quantitative methods to examine two case study community mosques. The scope of the primary data was limited to two community mosque representations which arc Al-Hasanah Mosque in Bandar Baru Bangi and As-Salam Mosque in Puchong as case study. Instruments of research were architectural elements inventory, walk through survey, interview and questionnaires. The research revealed the community mosque is regarded primarily as a place for congregational worship, for hosting of dakwah and Islamic learning activities and to hold congregational affairs that open the opportunity to bring together the Islamic community. Analysis of the spatial zoning and arrangements of the two community mosques shows similar concerns in spatial planning, where the focuses are on hierarchy of space, placement of mihrab and minbar, flexibility to cater for change in volume of Jemaah, gender segregation and integration issues, flow of worship processes, and space hierarchy. Users concerns mainly focus on accessibility, audibility, privacy, cleanliness and hygiene, safety and thermal comfort. Space provisions that users feel that are currently under provided are spaces and facilities to support social gathering activities, seminars and funeral preparations

Life Extension of Offshore System: A Framework for Optimization of Maintenance Needs and Operation Requirement W.R.T End Life Management Scenario
Master's thesis in Industrial asset managementIn offshore production installations, numerous platforms, facilities, systems, and equipment’s are approaching or already exceeded their original design life. The industrial product is design for limited timespan and concluded by the phenomenon of decommissioning. When the system approaches that limit, the dominate ageing aggregation affect the performance parameter of the system and resulting in reliability, integrity, safety, and commercial issues. The process of life extension mitigates the effects of ageing mechanism and extend the life or safety limits of the system. The LE process also reduces or diminish the inherit risk possessed by system during their original design life and makes sure the adoption of advance technologies and consideration of new standards and codes.
The current thesis explores the industrial practices for extending the life and safety limits of offshore facilities. The present methodology of the topic is to develop a framework that covers the current market dynamics, operational and maintenance needs of the system, mitigation measures for arising risk factors and technological development of mechanism that generate sustainability and assures financial viability. The approach is to recognize the major asset reliability, integrity, vulnerability, and process safety risks that require detail assessment and evaluation process, to ensure and permit the asset to be operated beyond its design life.
The framework is step forward to figure out some major life extension obstacles by systematic methodology that helps in streamlining the process and provides an improved foundation for pragmatic decision making through four different phases: 1) Detail assessment , history evaluation and decision supportive information collection; 2) Technical assessment and plan for optimization of maintenance needs and operational requirement of the system; 3) Quantifying the uncertainty and prioritizing the risk component or equipment inside of the system; 4) Financial and technical validation of propose model and predictive benchmarking. The developed structured framework provides immense resilience in accommodating a wide and vast spectrum of industry cases
KONSEP ADIL DALAM POLIGAMI (STUDI TENTANG REFLEKSI PEMIKIRAN KH. HUSEIN MUHAMMAD)
