Slovene Terminological Systems on the Example of Legal Terminology
pojma v izvornem pojmovnem sistemu.
The article is divided into three parts: in the first part the author introduces the preparatory work
for the Slovene variant of legal acts of the European Union, the second part focuses on legal terminology,
and the third adduces some examples illustrating how Slovene legal terminology has
responded to the creation of terminology for the conceptual world of the EU legal system (acquis
communautaire). This body of law takes precedence over the legal systems of the member states
and demands a uniform interpretation and implementation, which can be achieved only through
unambiguous denotation that is derived from understanding the concept in the framework of its
original semantic system

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
SYNTHESIS AND APPLICATION OF BIODEGRADABLE ORGANIC AEROGELS AS DRUG CARRIERS
Natural polymers have established themselves as a promising material for the synthesis and preparation of nanoporous particles. One of the most researched and used natural polymers is alginate, which is obtained from different types of brown seaweed. Due to its ability to gel and swell and some other properties, alginate is very suitable as a carrier for active ingredients. In this thesis, we prepared 1.5%, 2% and 2.5% alginate gels: monoliths, which were cut into small pieces and spherical alginate beads, in which we introduce nicotinic acid as active substance. We then dried by supercritical CO2 and thus obtained biodegradable organic aerogels
JEZIKOVNOKULTURNA USTREZNOST KOT TERMINOLOŠKO NAČELO
The primary function of terminology is effective communication among domain experts. To
perform this function it is necessary to consider terminology principles when creating terms. The
most important terminology principles are consistency, economy and linguistic adequacy. The principle
of language culture is also important. In accordance with that principle, terminology of Slovene
origin has priority when naming concepts.
The section for terminological dictionaries of the Fran Ramovš Institute of the Slovenian
Language at the Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts offers free advice
on terminology on its website called Terminologišče. In this paper, some examples of the terminological
questions and answers which are published on Terminologišče were selected to illustrate
how the members of the section for terminological dictionaries decide in cases of conflicts of terminology
principles.
The chosen examples show that their advice on terminology is based on specific terminological
dilemmas. No terminology principle automatically takes precedence over others. Priority was
given to the borrowed term tretirati (Eng. treatment) which is in accordance with the principle of
consistency. On the other hand, the term of Slovene origin vmesni dolg (Eng. mezzanine debt) was
suggested because it corresponds to the principle of language culture. Terminological interventions
which replace borrowed terminology with terminology of Slovene origin are reasonable. However,
their success depends on several factors. They should be accepted by the majority of the domain
experts, initiative to intervene should be given on time and a new term should name a concept adequately
i.e. effectively.
katerimi so najpomembnejša načelo ustaljenosti, načelo gospodarnosti in načelo jezikovnosistemske
ustreznosti. V prispevku bo posebna pozornost namenjena načelu
Načelo jezikovnokulturne ustreznosti strokovnjaki in jezikoslovci dojemajo
Terminologija v Evropski uniji
The monograph ('On Terminology in the European Union') focuses on the creation of the Slovene version of the terminology of the EU. The primary task of the terminology is to ensure effective communication. Therefore, it should be unambiguous and consistent. Multilingualism is a fundamental principle of the language regime of the EU and it is achieved through translation. Translation is also one of the most common naming procedures when creating EU terminology. Before creation of the new term it is very important to identify the content of the concept for which lawyers are certainly most qualified. The judgments of the Court of Justice of the EU are translated by lawyer-linguists, who are legal professionals with law degree in their main language. They are employed in all EU institutions, but only lawyer-linguists in the Court of Justice of the EU are responsible for translation (in their main language). The terminological analysis of the judgments in the field of EU Trade Mark translated into Slovene, shows how the terminology in those judgments has been developed and highlights the problems encountered by lawyer-linguists in translating them.V monografiji je poudarek na oblikovanju in značilnostih slovenske različice terminologije v EU.
