Pregibnostno-naglasni vzorci knjižne slovenščine. Samostalnik
The monograph covers all known inflectional and accentual patterns for common nouns in standard Slovenian, including all accentual and morphological doublets identified. These patterns provide a theoretical and practical basis for presenting inflectional and accentual patterns in the new growing descriptive and normative dictionary of standard Slovenian (eSSKJ), which is being developed at the Department of Lexicology of the ZRC SAZU Fran Ramovš Institute of the Slovenian Language. The volume consists of several sections. It begins by defining the concept of standard language and presenting the relationship between spoken and written standard language. This is followed by a presentation of the rationale for defining inflectional and accentual patterns, and by a description of how these patterns are represented in selected dictionaries and other sources. The volume then continues with an overview of the methodology used in defining the inflectional and accentual patterns and the findings of morphological and phonological studies of contemporary standard Slovenian. The core part of the volume provides a systematic treatment of inflectional and accentual patterns for nouns, whereby all nouns are classified into specific paradigms. Temu sledi utemeljitev oblikovanja pregibnostno-naglasnih vzorcev in opis prikaza vzorcev v izbranih slovarskih priročnikih in drugih virih. Sledi prikaz metodologije oblikovanja pregibnostno-naglasnih vzorcev in izsledkov oblikoslovnih in glasoslovnih raziskav sodobne knjižne slovenščine. Jedrni del monografije vsebuje sistematično obravnavno pregibnostno-naglasnih vzorcev za samostalnik, kjer poskušamo vse samostalnike uvrstiti v določene pregibnostno-naglasne vzorce
Živali v žarišču
The monograph Animals in Focus brings together researchers from different fields of science and offers a multidisciplinary set of views on the animal who is not on the fringes of our perspectives but has become their centre or focus. The move to the centre can be diverse, though, as the articles are based on philosophy, literary studies, comparative studies, zoofolkloristics, anthropology, art history, critical animal studies, critical animal pedagogies and conservation biology. They all proceed, however, from a common starting point, i.e., thinking of animals in a different way, by rejecting the anthropocentric and speciesist view of animals, and placing their lives in the research and emotive focus. The aim is not to avert our intention from the animal that catches our gaze, whatever the mode of gaze it is; to really see the animal and not deny its existence, suffering and abuse.
The monograph discusses the determination of species, although it is clear that species exist only in the sense of taxonomy and not philosophy because merely physical presentation does not form a sentient being; differences in the corporeal do not mean that human presentation is more valuable than the animal’s but, as the dominant species, the former has been merely given a higher social and political value.
Gasilski terminološki slovar ('The Terminological Dictionary of Firefighting') is the first scientific dictionary in Slovenian to cover the field of firefighting. The rich tradition of firefighting is also reflected in the maintenance of specialized literature, but the constant professional development and the transfer of knowledge from foreign language require standardization also in the terminology. The dictionary was compiled as a development and research task of the Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief in cooperation with the ZRC SAZU Fran Ramovš Institute for Slovenian Language and the Firefighting Association of Slovenia. The dictionary presents the field of fire protection and related activities, focusing on the protection of people, the environment and property — core values of every society. The terms are explained with terminological definitions that represent the conceptual system of Slovenian firefighting, which also includes terms from the fields of civil engineering, chemistry, mechanics and other scientific disciplines that are important for understanding and improving firefighting. Through the use of cross-references, the dictionary also provides assistance in the use of terms and should thus contribute to the standardization of terminology. The dictionary contains 2,256 entries, including 2,184 English and 2,275 German equivalents. The publication of the terminological dictionary of firefighting also achieves a broader goal: to raise awareness and strengthen the importance of firefighting in social consciousness and in science.
Iacobus Gallus: Selectiores quaedam missae, Liber IV
From the very beginning, one of the most important and ambitious goals of the MAMS collection has been publication of the collected works of Iacobus Handl-Gallus in a modern transcription tailored to the needs of contemporary performers. After the publication of his famous collection of motets, Opus musicum, in thirteen volumes (1985–1990), Edo Škulj edited a four-volume edition of Gallus’s masses in 1991. The edition is enriched by facsimiles from Gallus’s original collection, Selectiores quaedam missae, published in 1580 by the Prague printer Georg Nigrin (Jiří Černý).
Gallus divided his Missarum into four books. The fourth book (Liber IV) contains four 4-part settings of the Mass Ordinary. With the last Mass, the composer also offers the possibility of a performance in eight voices.
The 2025 digitized post-edition is accompanied by a new preface and an introductory study by Dr Marc Desmet that summarizes and compiles all recent findings about the composer and his work.
Historical Seminar 15 brings together a wide range of topics, ranging from the medieval origins of the noble Herberstein family to the characteristic Habsburg representations of Adriatic regions at the beginning of the 20th century. It covers diverse fields such as history, genealogy, art, literary history and anthropology. The monograph is introduced by a discussion by Gašper Oitzl on the mining orders for the iron mines in the Eastern Alps between the 14th and 16th centuries. Sylvia Stegbauer writes on the Jesuit Order in Inner Austria, in particular on the construction and operation of the Jesuit College in Graz. Matjaž Grahornik’s article presents an extensive genealogical outline of the important Styrian noble family of Herberstein. Andreas Golob examines the rich and hitherto overlooked material on Habsburg censorship in the 18th century, preserved in the archives of Inner Austria, while Daša Ličen focuses on the activities of the 19th-century societies in Trieste from the point of view of the involvement of the different social classes in them. Historical Seminar 15 concludes with Salvatore Pappalardo’s article on the representation of the Adriatic lands in Habsburg imperial propaganda at the last great international exhibition of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy in Vienna in 1913.Historični seminar 15 prinaša raznovrsten nabor tematik, ki časovno segajo od srednjeveških začetkov plemiške družine Herberstein pa vse do značilnega prikazovanja pokrajin ob Jadranu v okviru habsburške propagande v začetku 20. stoletja.
Iacobus Gallus: V rokopisu ohranjene skladbe / Compositions Preserved in Manuscript
By editing a volume of compositions from manuscript sources, the MAMS collection achieved one of its most important and ambitious goals in 1996. The publication of the volume Compostions Preserved in Manuscript, edited by Edo Škulj, completed the publication of the collected works of Iacobus Handl-Gallus in a modern transcription tailored to the needs of contemporary performers.
The volume contains four settings of all or individual movements of the Mass Ordinary as well as four motets. Gallus’s authorship of the compositions remains uncertain.
The 2025 digitized post-edition is accompanied by a new preface and an introductory study by Dr Marc Desmet that summarizes and compiles all recent findings about the composer and his work.Z izdajo izbranih skladb iz rokopisnih virov je zbirka MAMS dosegla enega svojih glavnih ciljev.
Zvezek vsebuje štiri uglasbitve vseh ali posamičnih stavkov mašnega ordinarija in štiri motete. Gallusovo avtorstvo skladb je negotovo.

Sprotni slovar slovenskega jezika 2024
Sprotni slovar slovenskega jezika 2024 ('Growing Dictionary of the Slovenian Language 2024'), in 327 entries, brings newer, emerging words not yet included in other dictionaries, suggested mainly by language users. To a lesser extent, the newest meanings of words already present in other dictionaries, such as bliskovni ‘flash’, čuječnost ‘mindfulness’, družabništvo ‘uninstitutional elderly care’, rjavček ‘brownie’, or new multi-word units, e. g. kultura izključevanja ‘cancel culture’, polarni vrtinec/vorteks ‘polar vortex’, are also included. The entries are accompanied by full morphological data and basic information on the meaning, usage and possible markedness of the word as well as short etymological explanations. The vocabulary in the dictionary is characterised by a high degree of influence of external circumstances, which is which is reflected, for example, in words related to the rise of artificial intelligence, such as halucinirati ‘to halucinate’, or societal awareness, e. g. prebujen ‘woke’.Sprotni slovar slovenskega jezika 2024 v 327 iztočnicah prinaša novejše, uveljavljajoče se besedje, ki ga še ni v drugih slovarjih, predlagajo pa ga zlasti jezikovni uporabniki. Iztočnice so opremljene s polnimi oblikoslovnimi podatki in temeljnimi podatki o pomenu, rabi in morebitni zaznamovanosti besede.
Utopija uniforme. Afektivna življenja Jugoslovanske ljudske armade
Utopija uniforme ('Utopia of the Uniform') draws on memories and archives of dozens of former Yugoslav People's Army soldiers to show how their experiences of military service point to futures, forms of collectivity, and relations between the state and the individual different from those that prevailed in the neoliberal present. The author argues that the power of repetitive, ritualized, and performative practices that constituted military service provided a framework in which drastically different men could live together and create interpersonal relationships and affective bonds that brought the key political ideas of collectivity, solidarity, egalitarianism, education, and comradeship into being. The book makes an important intervention in the study of socialism, masculinity, and total institutions, while situating the study of Yugoslav socialism within the current debates about the possibility of collective political imagination and action.
