Horizontal arc routing collaboration: models and algorithms
No full textIn this work, we investigate horizontal collaboration, mainly on road transportation, among different companies, carriers and shippers.
Background motivations are: a still prevalent way of moving around goods in different parts of the world,
an increasing pressure on logistic providers and an higher customer expectations about requested service.
Therefore, we examine the existing literature on horizontal collaboration classifying different models and techniques used. An extensive literature review about these problems is given.
We study profit, benefit and cost allocation procedures in order to better investigate the impact and the effectiveness of collaboration for the collecting of profits and the cutting of costs.
Then, we develop a new profitable arc routing model to address a centralized partial cooperation among multiple carriers.
We study two different formulations of this problem taking into account the impact of collaboration on the stand alone carrier profit.
In the first one the goal is the maximization of the total profit of the coalition of carriers, independently of the individual profit of each carrier.
The second variant includes a lower bound on the individual profit of each carrier.
We formulate mixed integer programming models for the two variants of the problem and study their properties and their relations with well-known arc routing problems.
We solve them with a branch-and-cut algorithm and quantify the impact of collaboration on a large set of instances.
Finally, we develope two metaheuristic solution methods based on a Large Neighborhood Search and a Ruin and Repair heuristic framework. On one hand, we have a Variable Neighborhood Search (VNS), on the other hand, we have an Adaptive Large Neighborhood Search (ALNS).
Both metaheuristics perform very well on a large set of instances solving almost all of them within few seconds.
Moreover, both find feasible solutions on larger and more realistic instances within few minutes

No full textThis essay discusses the results of a research on working conditions in “digital- ized” companies. Over a thousand workers employed in manufacturing companies and in the banking sector in the province of Modena were interviewed. The survey covered the different dimensions of the quality of work, favouring the comparison between “digitalized” and “classic” workers. The theoretical framework of the study is, to a large extent, the one originally proposed by Gallino. For the compa- nies referred to, the ongoing changes of organizational models and technologies lead to a strong intensification of workloads and the standardization of procedures and tasks. This phenomenon affects a large majority of workers. The digital setup has left the degrees of autonomy and control unchanged (if not worsened) without strengthening the participation of workers in the production process or making the corporate mission shared by the workers. For all dimensions, marked signs of gen- der discrimination emerge.

Accurate Global Point Cloud Registration Using GPU-Based Parallel Angular Radon Spectrum
No full text: Accurate robot localization and mapping can be improved through the adoption of globally optimal registration methods, like the Angular Radon Spectrum (ARS). In this paper, we present Cud-ARS, an efficient variant of the ARS algorithm for 2D registration designed for parallel execution of the most computationally expensive steps on NvidiaTM Graphics Processing Units (GPUs). Cud-ARS is able to compute the ARS in parallel blocks, with each associated to a subset of input points. We also propose a global branch-and-bound method for translation estimation. This novel parallel algorithm has been tested on multiple datasets. The proposed method is able to speed up the execution time by two orders of magnitude while obtaining more accurate results in rotation estimation than state-of-the-art correspondence-based algorithms. Our experiments also assess the potential of this novel approach in mapping applications, showing the contribution of GPU programming to efficient solutions of robotic tasks

No full text碩士本論文主要分為三個章節，第一章，何為象徵符號？本章節主要藉由象徵理論學家，威爾伯 (Wilbur Marshall Urban)、弗萊(Northrop Frye)、托多羅夫(Tzvetan Todorov)、賽洛特(Juan-Eduardo Cirlot)以及其他學者的相關文獻解釋象徵符號的定義以及象徵符號在文學作品中的定義。
第二章針對達里歐的生平、作品以及達里歐在現實主義時期的重要性為論述重點。筆者根據達里歐的生平以及生長年代來了解他的作品特色，達里歐一生多采多姿，尤其感情方面更為豐富，這些人生際遇皆影響達里歐的寫作風格。達里歐不只是詩人，也是歷史的見證者，從他的作品中可以看到政治歷史的變化趨勢。達里歐著作極為豐富，筆者在本章節挑選三本可以代表達里歐的作品：《藍》(Azul)、《每日詩》(Prosas profanes)以及《生命與希望之歌》(Cantos de vida y esperanza)。達里歐與現實主義有著密不可分的關係，他的寫作風格不僅受到現實主義作家的影響，同時也是影響現實主義作家的重要人士之一。
第三章筆者不僅針對達里歐的詩集作品分析，同時也分析其散文作品，如《稀奇》(Los raros)。筆者將經常出現於達里歐作品中的象徵符號分為三個部分：顏色符號、禽鳥符號和寶石符號。顏色符號部分主要分析的顏色為藍色、綠色、白色以及黑色。禽鳥符號則針對天鵝、鴿子、孔雀和老鷹。而最後的寶石符號則以珠寶、寶石、鑽石、琥珀、黃金和水晶為主要分析內容。
最後筆者希望藉由這篇論文的研究，能讓大家了解象徵符號經由作家的詮釋，即使相同的符號，也擁有不同的意義。此外也希望大家能透過此篇論文認識文學史上重要的拉丁美洲作家盧本達里歐先生。In this thesis we explore definitions of symbols and the life of the author in the book of Ruben Dario. Dario is an author who emphasized the importance of the use of symbols though out his books. Therefore we might consider him as a master specialized in writing with symbols.
We divide the thesis into three chapters. In the first chapter, we give details to the definition of the symbols. According to scholars like Urban, Frye, Todorov and Cirlot, we are able to understand symbols in forms of signs, images and words. The concept of the symbols is relatively comprehensive, taking into consideration that a symbol is not always a sign; in fact, it is much more than a sign.
In the second chapter, we describe Ruben Dario about his life, literary works and the times when he lived. His life was interesting, colorful and varied. He was not only a poet but a public figure, having been an ambassador of Nicaragua in Spain. Dario wrote many pieces and each was important to him. Based on his narration, there are three books that can represent Ruben Dario, Azul, Prosas profanas and Cantos de vida y esperanza.
Dario was the master of Modernism, mainly because of the great influence of Latin America. Not only did Ruben Dario influence the poets of Modernism but was influenced by other poets in the same period.
In the last chapter we examine the symbols in the poetry of Dario and we divided the symbols into three parts: the colors, birds and precious stones. The first part, we examine the colors. There are blue, green, and black. In the second part, we deal with the symbols of birds, including swans, pigeons, peacocks and eagles. And in the last part, we talk about precious stones. We analyze the symbols of agate, ruby, diamond, crystal and gold. Finally, we end up with the conclusions and bibliography.INTRODUCCION 1

Le texte publié dans Hal est la version intégrale.International audienceLe 12 décembre 1969 à Milan, Piazza Fontana, une bombe explose à la Banca dell’Agricoltura, faisant seize morts et des dizaines de blessés. Les “coupables” aussitôt désignés sont les anarchistes, et le soir même le cheminot Giuseppe Pinelli est arrêté. Quarante-huit heures plus tard, il tombe “accidentellement” de la fenêtre du bureau où il était interrogé, situé au quatrième étage du commissariat de police. Suicide, affirme la version officielle des faits.Dans les jours qui suivirent le drame, Pier Paolo Pasolini, répond immédiatement, avec "Patmos", réécriture poétique de l’Apocalypse de Jean. Il reviendra sur les faits cinq ans plus tard, à la suite de nouveaux attentats, avec un article du "Corriere della sera" dont l’incipit, "Io so", est demeuré célèbre. En décembre 1970, pour le premier anniversaire de l’attentat de Piazza Fontana, Dario Fo met en scène "Morte accidentale d’un anarchico". Le journaliste et essayiste Giorgio Boatti, lui, prendra le temps d’effectuer une minutieuse enquête-analyse de l’affaire et publiera en 1993 un ouvrage très richement documenté, "Piazza Fontana. 12 dicembre 1969 : il giorno dell’innocenza perduta".Tous trois ont réagi par écrit, conformément à leur “métier”, mais en recourant à trois genres littéraires différents, trois domaines hybrides du fait de la manière dont ils les ont traités : le pastiche ou le pamphlet (Pasolini), le théâtre comico-grotesque (Dario Fo) et l’essai à mi-chemin entre document et roman (Boatti). Rotation Estimation Based on Anisotropic Angular Radon Spectrum
No full textIn this letter, we present the anisotropic Angular Radon Spectrum (ARS), a novel feature for global estimation of rotation in a two dimension space. ARS effectively describes collinearity of points and has the properties of translation-invariance and shift-rotation. We derive the analytical expression of ARS for Gaussian Mixture Models (GMM) representing point clouds where the Gaussian kernels have arbitrary covariances. Furthermore, we developed a preliminary procedure for simplification of GMM suitable for efficient computation of ARS. Rotation between point clouds is estimated by searching of maximum of correlation between their spectra. Correlation is efficiently computed from Fourier series expansion of ARS. Experiments on datasets of distorted object shapes, laser scans and on robotic mapping datasets assess the accuracy and robustness to noise in global rotation estimation
