A-Legality: Journey to the Borders of Law. In Dialogue with Hans Lindahl
This paper delineates and discusses the overall theoretical trajectory of Hans Lindahl’s work Fault Lines of Globalization. Furthermore, through a strategy of joint thinking – or dialogue – with the author, the article hits a double target. On the one hand, it gives the reader the oppor-tunity to better grasp some aspects and features of the author’s philosophical background. On the other, it fleshes out some crucial passages of the book with the aim of a further clarification and more accurate inspection
The Spherical Inverted Pendulum with Pelvis Width in Polar Coordinates for Humanoid Walking Design
The present communication is a follow up and extension of the paper “The Spherical Inverted Pendulum: Exact Solutions of Gait and Foot Placement Estimation Based on Symbolic Computation” by the same author. The walk design is approached by a 3-D inverted pendulum in a polar coordinate system. The advantage of this model is to easily offer indications of the energy expenditure of an efficient walk. However, the disadvantages that were never recognized by authors previously using this model is that the COG trajectory has to pass through the supporting foot location. This causes an unnecessary and unrealistic waving in the frontal plane during gait. The problem is discussed here and solved by extending the model of the inverted pendulum by introducing the pelvis width and the distance between the hips of the two legs, without adding dynamical complexity
Multiple political geographies
This chapter delves into the multifaceted realm of political geography within the context of the journal Political Geography. The author, who has held various editorial positions within the journal, navigates the intricate terrain of diversity and inclusion, exploring the challenges posed by linguistic and cultural biases inherent in academic publishing. The chapter critically examines efforts to mitigate barriers and broaden the scope of political geography, questioning the adequacy of current approaches. Through a reflective analysis, the author elucidates the complex dynamics of political geography as a subdiscipline, shedding light on both the impediments and possibilities it offers to researchers and students

Power and Water in Central Asia
Water is an irreplaceable and transient resource, which crosses political boundaries in the form of rivers, lakes, and groundwater aquifers. The collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, led to the birth of fifteen countries including the five Central Asian republics, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. When the USSR ceased to exist, so did the centralised Soviet resource distribution system that managed the exchange and allocation of water, energy, and food supplies. A whole new set of international relations emerged, and the newly formed Central Asian governments had to redefine the policies related to the exchange and sharing of their natural resources. This book analyses the role of state power in transboundary water relations. It provides an in–depth study of the evolution of interstate relations in Central Asia in the field of water from 1991-2015. Taking as a case study the planned construction of the Rogun and Kambarata dams in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, the author examines various forms of overt and covert power shaping interstate relations and the way hegemonic and counter-hegemonic measures are put in place in an international river basin. He argues that the intimate correlation between the concepts of power and hegemony can offer key insights to the analysis and understanding of transboundary water relations. While the analytical focus is placed on state power, the book demonstrates that hegemonic and counter-hegemonic tactics represent the ways in which power is wielded and observed. Offering fresh theoretical interpretations to the subjects of power and counter-hegemony in the Aral Sea basin, this book puts forward the original circle of hydro-hegemony, an analytical framework in which the various forms of power are connective in the function of hegemony. It will be of interest to scholars in the field of water and environmental politics and Central Asian Studies
